You wont need aircon in Canberra... at a guess id say the current temperature is well under 15 degrees and in summer it doesnt get overly hot, and if it does, just wind your window down If you want the car to have aircon, why not just go for a R33 GTR V-spec? Its no N1, and you wont have a swish build plate, but you will have a car better suited for daily driving (which is the impression that rubs off on me if you need aircon) But thats just my $0.02

what is this crap? Coming home today this chick in a yellow N12? (the reebok shape ones) decided to tailgate me the whole way from woden to tuggeranong, as in really close. I had to brake semi hard a few times and she almost ran into the back of me every time (it looked like she had to go up the gutter once so she didnt hit me!) yet after these close encounters, she stilled stayed right up my ass. And from the existing damage on the front of the car, it looks like shes already rear ended 1, if not more people.

Im in as always as long as we can go past lake burley griffen and check out all the sexy rally cars

R33 GTR Brakes on an R32 GTR
Amaru replied to SootyR32's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Ive got them on my car, I didnt do the conversion myself but bought the car with them on there. From what I have heard its not a big job, you just need the callipers and bigger disc's and 17" wheels with the correct offset to clear them. -
Theres not alot of real AE86's getting around Australia, they're somewhat of a rarity. The one I posted up before is for sale for offers around and above $13,000 AUD and its the real deal, and if you want a drift machine well, this thing is awesome

This car was actually owned by Denzo himself. When I purchased the car, JMS had replaced the dash cluster with the Nismo 260km/h one in it now. The engine had done 50,000km's prior to the dash going in. The dash currently reads just under the 23,000 mark, to make a rounded up total of 73,000km's. I have only just replaced the gearbox and not long ago had the water pump replaced. This work was carried out by Tez Automotive for the gearbox and Gombars in Queanbeyan for the water pump. JMS (http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au/) predict this car to do 0-100km/ in high 4's to the low 5 second bracket and 1/4 mile time in high 11's - low 12's. Car has NOT been timed in Canberra. Asking $25,000 non negotiable 0418 66 38 33.

If you can easily import cars from Australia, a good friend is selling his AE86 trueno (and its even Panda too!). Its commanding a reasonably high price though, as its in pretty good condition for its age (its a 1985 build) and has some substantial modifications (ae92 4AGE converted from EFI to carby, twin dual 45mm solex carbs, hks camshafts, hks intake manifold, rsr extractors, exhaust, cusco lsd, cusco coilovers, bb garage front bar, roll cage, etc etc, was setup as a full track car). Used run in oil in mine for 500km's, did a full flush and replaced with Mobil 1 5W-50 for 500kms, did flush again, Mobil 1 5w-50 for 2500kms, did flush, and now its got Mobil 1 5W-50 in it and it goes better than ever. When running it in I was told to put the engine under load (going up steep hills in a high gear like 3rd/4th so the engine has to work to get up it), never kept a constant speed, never idled for too long and it all seems to have worked well.

im using arias and have had no problems whatsoever. I think in the end it comes down to how competent the engine builder is.

Thanks for the info people, im sticking with the two piece as its tried and proven

Just looking for some general feedback (and hopefully within the next 60 minutes) as to what people would think of the following. I have a 1992 R32 GTR, and the tailshaft bearing needs replacing. The mechanic has asked me if id be interested in putting in a single piece tailshaft, as then I wouldnt have to worry about cv joints, centre tailshaft bearings etc. My main concern with this is, talking to a few people, it would punish the rear diff a hell of alot more than it does currently. What are peoples opinions on doing this? Thanks Nik

260RS? Good to see youre finally getting yourself into a skyline leech
-
yeah that would be good, my cars off the road again as of this morning but crossing fingers i should have it back this weekend.
-
yeah, thanks for comin up and sayin hello, good to see youve still got the skyline, and it sounded very nice as you left the servo with the exhaust the other guy was tribex off these forums too, we were cruising around causing havoc haha.
-
Ahaha that was my terrible parking skills I have no excuse for that  Yeah I saw your car parked in front of it, there were skylines a plenty out in woden last night.
-
is that what the police officer in your avatar said 10 minutes before that picture was taken?
-
Theyre hardly comparable even if they both are AWD. The skyline is strictly a RWD car which will put torque to the front wheels if you loose traction, or its sensors think it would be beneficial to do so. *Every* GTR owner I have ever spoken to has scared the living shit out of themselves the first time they experiance ATTESSA (basically, the car sideways then suddenly grabbing and lurching forward). Id be confident in saying a GTR is a fairly unique car in its driving charecteristics, with almost nothing comparable to it when you push it to its limits (and believe me you will... youre young and youre not buying a GTR to put around in). With a mindset like youve shown above "i own a '90 RB30 Patrol.... GT-R runs on AWD." I have one favour to ask... if you do get the car please keep away from me until you learn the basic principles that every car is different, and just because you have driven one AWD before doesnt mean you know how to *control* a GTR. Theyre very unforgiving cars, and all it takes is one "watch this bro" moment and it will bite you in the ass.
