  1. Id wind the boost down until you can get it tuned, the base map is exactly that, a base map, only good for putting it in the car, starting it and driving it to the tuners (i cant remember but i think theres even a section in the power fc manual in english with a massive warning saying do not drive the car on the base map?). When I talked to a few places a few months ago (no-one can tune in Canberra, so talked to people in Sydney and Melbourne), the average cost was $500 for a full tune of a power fc.
  2. They used to bring in alot more, including R32, R33 and R34's, but ive been hearing around all that is eligible for import now at this point in time is 1995 R33 GTR. And no, they stay right hand drive
  3. Only Motorex currently modify the cars so theyre street legal in America, youd have to talk to them. And also from what I have heard, all you can import (to be modified for street legal use) at the moment are 1995 R33 GTR's. Once again though, double check with Motorex.
  4. My thoughts exactly... we should throw a Sydneykid appreciation night, get him out and everyone hes helped can buy him a drink
  5. Try not to choke as much as I did when you see the price tag
  6. From what I understand its not an easy process to do in regards to getting it "complianced" in USA so it can be street registered. I would advise you talk to Motorex or the guys on the skylines down under forums in the USA section (if im not allowed to refer to other sites can a moderator please edit my post? )
  7. One 3.7 litre bottle should do both diffs. As told to me this is what the parts take Gearbox -- 4.1 L Transfer case -- 1.8 L Rear diff -- 1.5 L Front diff -- 1.0 L I should be getting all those changed in the next week, if you havnt bought some by then Ill tell you how it goes
  8. You need two 3.785 litre bottles (1 US gallon) to do gearbox and transfer case. MT90 is reccomended for these then in brackets it has redline lightweight shockproof. Ive only heard good things about the shockproof, so went the shockproof. The 75W90 they sent me for the diffs is API GL5/GL6.
  9. oh man thats yours?!?! that thing was sexy as hell... you rocked up to a Mobil service station in the city and asked us for directions (we were standing at a pink falcon xr8 with gold simmons, with a white r32 gtr and black r33 gtst parked behind it). Damn nice man, I dont know what it is, but your car was just like pwoah!!!!
  10. Redline Lightweight Shockproof for the gearbox and transfer case, you will need two bottles to do these. I ordered mine online at www.redlineoil.com.au
  11. Yeah the special power steering fluid they refer to is Nissan Matic D. I had to go and buy some from Nissan when my car was apart, and the mechanic didnt put in enough fluid when putting it all back together. Meshmesh, not yet. Ive got the redline lightweight shockproof for the gearbox and transfer case, and redline 75w90 for the diffs sitting right next to me as I type this Will let you know how it goes if youre interested.
  12. Nissan Matic D power steering/automatic transmission fluid is whats used in that bottle. You can buy it from Nissan fairly cheaply.
  13. Give Ed at Tez a ring, hes good at sourcing these parts for good prices... 62867500
  14. Meanwhile, yesterday heading out of Ellerston Avenue in Isabella Plains onto Outtrim Avenue in Calwell spotted Aurora behind me while I was waiting at the round-a-bout, a wine red r33 gtst which had made me stop at the round-a-bout which then turned into the cricket nets at Calwell, and then the street behind the cricket nets coming onto Outtrim Avenue, a white r33 gtst with chromies... so much skyline goodness in a 30 second period
  15. I reckon you cant hear the car rev over the induction noise sometimes! Its a Trust filter from memory
  16. Hey man that sux hardcore I try not to tell too many people where I live for the exact same reason, dont want someone breaking in. Ill keep my ears open, if I heard anything ill tell you.
  17. I was under the impression the "step" levels reffered to the amount of lift on the camshaft For example HKS Step 1 camshafts are all 8.7mm lift HKS Step 2 264 in/ex camshafts are 10.0mm lift HKS Step 2 272/280 in/ex camshafts are 10.2mm lift This applies to the RB26DETT, HKS dont seem to list "Step" options for the RB25DET.
  18. Id say its a faulty tacho, mine has the same problem when I turn the car on and its cold (works fine after a few minutes) it flicks around and sticks at about the same spot... am yet to find a way to fix it. If you look at the boost gauge its making about the same amount of vacuum as they do when theyre idle, at those sort of rpm's it would at least be at 0 vacuum / 0 boost if not at least making a small amount of boost.
  19. Yeah I rang Bendix yesterdat after brake pads (ive got a 32 GTR non vspec but with R33 Brembo callipers on the front) and was told they dont make any pads for any sort of Brembo calliper... interesting. Im looking at EBC Greenstuff at $200 for the front and $90 for the rear (keep in mind ive still got the stock R32 GTR rear callipers). Try racebrakes, www.racebrakes.com.au and enquire about their RB74 pads, im going to call them today. A friend just fitted them in his GTiR and claims no matter how hard he pushes the car and rides the brakes, the hotter they get, the better they keep getting (and we went for a pretty hard drive through the mountains on the weekend).
  20. yeah im in it as sys admin/net admin/net engineer/whatever else they decide they want me to be.
  21. For sure, just tell us what date you will be here and im sure we can go for another one. I noticed on the way to Orroral that the road to Honeysuckle was open (to those that know the area)... maybe we can trek out there and do the whole bbq thing again?
  22. Spotted mick on that road that goes from tuggeranong to woden past mawson shops... i was in the white r32 which turned off into mawson.
  23. ooh excellent ive always wanted to check out your car close up should be a good cruise... got some guys from syndicate coming, some guys from shogun coming, some guys from skylines australia coming... should be good
  24. Yeah I was going to mention when you go to Tez to have a looksy back there as its always there. Its probably one of the only blue skylines in Canberra, if not the only (the factory dark blue). Its a sexy as hell colour.
  25. cmon people so far we have a bunch of no's and a few yes, anyone else out there?
