  1. Instead of just wasting it you could get an Ntercooler kit from Nitrous Express. Basically its that ring you see in front of the intercooler on the R34 on 2f2f. It sprays NOS (or whatever else you have in the bottle) on the intercooler and as the pressurised gas is released and hits ambient temperature air it has almost a "freezing" effect so will dramatically drop the temperature of your intercooler core, and as such, drop inlet temps. Then also on this system, you could have a purge valve hooked up so you could rice it up when you want too, but also have it in there doing something useful. Also instead of filling the bottle with NOS, just use CO2 as its a hell of a lot cheaper and has the same effect on the intercooler.
  2. Blitz hit it on the head, with the amount of car jackings and thefts at the moment, its no suprise nowhere will let you test drive one. A deposit wont cover the value of a GTR if your dad decided to make off with it (which im not saying he would, but you need to see this from the dealers perspective).
  3. south siiideeeeee is de best
  4. Where bouts you live man? Mind if another fellow GTR owner wants to come check it out? PM me your details if thats cool
  5. Arrive tonight... as in arrive at your house tonight? Congratulations man, go talk to RTA and get yourself a permit because you will be dying to take it out for a strap
  6. I have a few friends with S15's, one has exhaust, front mount, 14psi boost, pod filter and has done a 13.47 quarter mile (on lowered King springs). Another friend has done a 13.49 with 14psi boost, exhaust, pod (no intercooler) with tein type flex coilovers. Theyre damn quick cars, and there seems to be quite alot gained with them from suspension upgrade as well as normal engine upgrades. I doubt the friend without the intercooler wouldve run such a quick time without the coilovers. As for build quality, they are a bit rough around the edges, as are most "cheap" mass manufactured sports car (the cars arnt cheap, but compared to a ferrari etc, you cant expect perfect build quality). A friend has had his since 10,000km's and its now just done 35,000km's, and there are a few rattles coming from the plastics around the dash, but nothing to be too alaramed about (other friend has a 1999 model and done 90,000km's, it rattles but hasnt fallen apart yet). Theyre very nice cars and I was looking for one but ended up going with the skyline, as for me nothing compares to the sound an inline 6 makes But they are sweet cars, and im sure you'll be extremely impressed. Hope this helps out a bit.
  7. Theres always going to be a conflict of interest on this subject. Theres always going to be those who are opposed to the rule for whatever reasons, e.g protecting resale value, and those that are for it, for cheap imports etc. The two sides will always be split by nothing more than personal opinion, and you have no right to call someone stupid for expressing their opinion. I for one am against this rule, as like most other S13/R32/Z32 owners want to protect the resale value of my car. Thats the main reason. The second is the amount of 17 and 18 year old wankers now running around with $5 - 10,000 to buy a complete shitter GTR/GTST/SILVIA/180SX/300ZX and thinks its the shit, and further drag down the reputation of imports by driving around in rusted junk that would have otherwise been scrapped in Japan. HOWEVER, on that note, I am NOT opposed to good quality cars coming in under the 15 year old rule. My main gripe is with the above mentioned. But once again it comes down to personal opinion, and everyones entitled to one
  8. The ECU is usually in the foot well on the passanger side behind all the pretty plastic trimming
  9. cmon whytry we all know youve only got the car to pick up the girls
  10. (02) 9755 3311 www.whitepages.com.au works wonders
  11. Hi Sydneykid, thanks for this. When it was checked, the guy said all the upper bushes had already been replaced and they looked pretty new (ive only had the car for 5000kms). I will however take the car to a skyline specialist (amazingly yes, there is one in Canberra ) and see what their opinion is. What else would cause a knocking noise (something physically hitting something else) in the suspension area, but only really at low speeds and intermittantly? I went to get it checked before it became a permanent noise and cost me the world.
  12. Spotted a wine red R33 GTSt in Gordon today pulled over looking at his rear wheel... we were the guys who asked if you needed help (if ur on the forums). Had a GTR kit, and a GTR badge in the grill. Also spotted a white R33 GTST driving to Woden on Hindmarsh Drive (I think?) while I was going to Pedders at about 9:00 this morning... on that note, I have a ****ed upper ball joint so cars off the road again till I can get it fixed, doh
  13. My car has been making a knocking noise in the front passanger side of the suspension, so took it to Pedders today (basically because they were going to check it for free). They told me the same thing, they said the upper bushes had already been replaced, the lower castor bushes were cracked and needed replacing (they actually got me under the car and showed me this), they said the cv boots needed replacing (they showed me this too), and said the knocking noise was coming from worn upper ball joints. Ive also got the printout of the car on a shock tester machine, and even after 70,000km's, theyre still going fine (was told it looks like they were rebuilt not too long ago). Just thought id add this as I read above R32 GTR's dont really have upper ball joints, but what made me respect the guy at Pedders is he actually reccomended taking the car somewhere else to get done, as theyve never done one before at this particular workshop, and couldnt quote me a price on labour. On that note though, does anyone know where I can get replacement bushes, cv boots and these "upper ball joints" Pedders are speaking of?
  14. Im running 300kw on a standard intercooler, but it is starting to become a bit of a restriction. Word of mouth is they hold around the 300rwkw mark before they become a restriction.
  15. spotted sxygtst heading to work (i was hiding behind the tree having a smoke)
  16. I saw this car in person today, it is abo****ely immaculate and great value, worth every cent. Good luck selling it.
  17. Wine red R33 GTST going down Johnson Drive in front of Calwell heading from Monaro Highway to Tuggeranong at about 6PM.
  18. Spotted two silver S2 and one black S2 R33 GTSt's in Fyshwick around 12:30.... thanks for comin out to lunch guys, should meet up more often (if anyones up for it).
  19. Yeah Chisholm BP now stock Ultimate as well, you can usually find me there on a Thursday night filling up (yay for payday).
  20. We dont get Synergy in Canberra... it is Mobils high octane PULP, and its damn good (filled up my car in Sydney with it before heading back to Canberra). My car never knocks whilst driving above 3, its 99% of the time always on 1. Ive just had the engine rebuilt and its running pretty rich, which might have something to do with it.
  21. yeah, there will be sxygtst's car, a white r32 gtr, and a black r33 gtst.
  22. sounds good, c u there
  23. Yeah still on for lunch man... cars here, so ill either be the big tall dude next to the white gtr, or the big tall dude next to a black GTSt (thanks Aurora )... oh yeah, Aurora will be joining us too if thats cool
  24. Tumut? damn man... well at least you know the skyline would be an exclusive thing down there
  25. Haha thats cool man, but the weekend after will be no good for alot of us as drag combat is on in Sydney. How about we postpone this and set a new date after drag combat?
