  1. I know someone with a panda trueno, and also someone with a blue sil80 although it has a gt wing and chromies, so doesnt exactly fit the profile of impact blue. Will have a talk to them and see what can be done
  2. No thats not mine, but I do know who does own it ... his car was part of the deciding factor to get mine
  3. Nulon Pro Strength Octane Booster (do NOT use the octane boost and clean... it stuffs the spark plugs damn quickly) is the only stuff I use, and the only stuff my car will run on at the moment (it refuses to drive decently on anything besides optimax/ultimate and nulon boost). Its about $18 a bottle from Supercheap and Autobarn (some Mobil's have it as well), and it works wonders
  4. Ill be out cruising tonight, white 32 gtr, nsw numberplates aiy-13v... Ill probably be parked at Mobil/Tammets car wash in the middle of Braddon so come along and say hi probably around 9ish... you can also ring me 0404952078 if you wanna meetup somewhere (everyone else I was meant to be cruising with tonight has piked on me anyway )
  5. I have PM'd you the URL to some pics showing the major differences, including the removed reverse lights from around the number plate, moved indicators etc. If you need anymore let me know, as I should be able to get access to one quite easily to take some more photos for you.
  6. Spotted this again down at the Hyperdome carpark at about 8:50 this morning. Its silver, looks lowered on stock wheels with a GTR wing I think (didnt have a close look, but its either GTR wing or series 2 wing).
  7. Just as a point of note, in the Power FC manual there is a large section that contains "Caution: The Power FC does not retard ignition timing if the engine is knocking. If you notice the engine knocking, back off the throttle immediately" or something along those lines, ill post the exact quote from the book up when I get home.
  8. Cruise is good, I actually have my car back now and its running for a change, so I can actually make it along to the next one if its sometime soon! On that note however, I will be in braddon in my car on Wednesday and Thursday nights for the beginning of sumernats cruising (parked at Mobil braddon/Tammets carwash probably) so come along and say hi (white R32 GTR with NSW plates AIY-13V, and im a big tall guy) or SMS or ring me on 0404952078 if somethings going on.
  9. Im not particularly fond of it... in my eyes it has completely lost the hardcore edge and design that made the R3 series skylines what they are. They probably have a nice engine, but I just cant like the styling of the car at this point in time. I know its a completely new car not an evolution of the R3 series, but when you mention to someone the name Skyline they think of GTR's winning bathurst etc. In my opinion, this new breed of skyline looks wimpy. But then again it comes down to the saying "beautiy is in the eye of the beholder".
  10. Is it boosting higher than stock? Its probably had the boost restrictor removed (little copper plug in one of the boost lines to restrict flow).
  11. Spotted a red R33 S1 GTST heading down Northbourne avenue, we both gave it a bit of a squirt, I munged the launch and almost stalled so he got away from me sounded pretty tough and went pretty quick... if youre on these boards, what mods have you got done?
  12. Yeah, I fill up 75L tank and it chews through pretty qucikly... but you dont buy a gtr for fuel economy! Driving around city giving it hits here and there it manages around 300km a tank, highway driving bout 350 - 400km. Oh, and in this heat, my car refuses to drive without octane boost, so youve got 75 litres of Optimax/Ultimate/Synergy8000 and $15 - $20 per bottle of Nulon Octane Booster which will do one tank. And I'd reccomend against using normal PULP, as my car and a few other GTR's around the area, if the temperature is over 25-30 degrees, even on just Optimax and Ultimate they will detonate and misfire and splutter down the road.
  13. According to NRMA a while ago, the average km's per year is around the 20,000 mark.
  14. Sounds pretty much the same as mine. Im running the same plugs, power fc, and around the same revs/load as you the car makes pretty big backfires when changing gears. The problem I was told was I dont have the stock GTR bov's anymore, they were replaced with Blitz Supersonic DD ones that vent to atmosphere, and its causing the car to overfuel a bit on gear changes. Unsure if you have stock bov's or not, but if you dont, this could be the problem Hope it helps a bit.
  15. 1992 R32 GTR, genuine 71000km's on it, only problem has been a snapped valve guide... it happened quite some time ago (the piece that came off went into a cylinder, scored the top of a piston, and you could tell it was quite old from the carbon buildup on it) but the car was still going happily. Got it fixed when I decided to rebuild the engine.
  16. As the topic says, Merry Christmas to all the ACT skyliners and associates, hope you all have a fun holiday season and take it easy! Dont want to come back and find people have lost licenses/cars/lives so yeah
  17. Also spotted today a silver 4 door R33 GTSt driving from Fyshwick to Woden area
  18. Ok well the problems starting are not caused by the pistons. Workshop narrowed it down to leaky injectors, so will have those replaced in the new year and should all be good On a side note, the car is running like a dream now it doesnt have that bullshit run in oil in it
  19. From what I was told my Arias pistons are a 2 thou over bore. They were ordered from Rocket Industries with the following details; AP331177 ARIAS NISSAN SKYLINE GTR TURBO FORGED-20 OVER Im getting a mixed response from mine. Sometimes she starts fine, sometimes its a real hassle to get it to start. Ive been told until the rings seal and bed properly (considering ive only done 600km since the engine was rebuilt - its in today getting head retensioned and throwing away that dirty run in oil for Mobil 1) this would be a problem. It seems to be getting better as the km's get higher and the rings bed I guess, and it only struggles to start maybe 1 out of 5 times now as opposed to 4 out of 5 times.
  20. Arias 600km and running fine
  21. Im assuming this is an 89 GTR youre importing. Before spending the cash on body works, id take it to a reputable mechanics and get a compression and leakdown test done. Granted skylines are great cars, but a 15 year old twin turbo performance engine is going to be pretty shagged (and those that say it wasnt driven hard etc etc think about it... why buy a GTR for?). Id put the money towards compression and leakdown test and depending on that (anything under 120 on the compression results) and id be spending that $6k on an engine rebuild (and they're not cheap). Gearboxes are clunky by nature, and majority of GTR's have stuffed synchro's so dont be afraid if you hop in and crunch some gears. If you want this fixed, budget in gearbox rebuild. Body wise, look around the door seals for rust. Alot tends to show up around these areas, as well as in the wheel guards. Other major things id definately get changed on the vehicle since its becoming quite old is water pump, oil pump, oil pressure sender/switch, all engine belts, gasket set. Not meant to be scaring you, just giving you a heads up on what to expect. On the other hand you might get a perfectly mint car
  22. Spotted Maroon R32 GTSt I think following me along monaro highway near hume (I was in white GTR) Also spotted black supra with bigggg wing on the back.
  23. They grab really really hard and are not designed to be slipped... I have one in my GTR, and its like an on/off switch (5 puck brass button Nismo/Exedy unit with some upgraded hardcore pressure plate). The downside is they can put alot of strain on components like gearboxes, driveshafts and diff's because the can grab quite viciously. Alot of places are reccomending against brass button now for the above reasons, but some people love them. Im impartial... I dont particularly like mine, and am going to replace it with a twin plate next chance I get and have some money.
  24. Rumor has it Ralliart have ditched the 6 speed box and put a 5 speed in the Evo 8 for Australia as well... so its down tuned with 195kw and 5 speed box.... but its still an evo and id cut off my nuts for one Evo daily cruiser and GTR track/drag car... mm I could work with that
  25. Spotted silver/gunmetal r32 gtr parked outside the kingo
