purple_reign - that is a nice boot install dude, very nice, thanks 2GU UP, i wil have another crack at it tommorrow, get something decent to fit.
-
Yeah i am not considering the toyota puffer any more any how, if i am going to spend the time and cash on such a project, why not doit to get some decent gains rather than a 'gain'. I know what you mean about turbos and getting massive top end power etc, to bad they have to wait till high rpm to get the power and it all comes in a big hit, not very streetable if its big power, where as a slab of torque and a little lower on the power levels, is still going to create some serious fun, and the main problem will be getting traction.
-
I still cant work out how to get the damn door trim off, the bastards stuck, it just wont move, so i cant put in mdf panel like you guys have, so i made a mount the same size of the factory speaker and mounted my speaker in that.

Just out of a matter of interest, if i was to go with the millers cycle, the m90 SC, and the microtech mt8, what would a rough estimate of rear wheel killowatts be?? roughly......
-
I been reading up about the millers cycle that sounds like a very tricky process, but you would need some pretty expensive management to deal with the wouldnt you?? Like it sounds like it really changes the characteristics of the engine??, Would an Engine mangemnt such ast the microtech mt8 be able to deal with this??
-
So you believe this miller cycle would be an easier route to take to ge the compresion down?? You said the torque would be lost but with the SC coming into play very quickly this would/shouldnt be very noticeable right??
-
I put it on the top story now, only problem is security, although there are guards and stuff that wonder around.
-
Damn your a smart one with this stuff, i saw one of the m90's go on ebay for 650 i think it was...in excellent cond, i will be keeping my eyes out for them now, you ever built a SC onto an RB25DE??? I would need to stroke my engine to put the GTR pistons in wouldnt I?? What would be a very rough price of the total cos of this if i was to get the pistons for 200??

HHHhhmmmmmmm......i like that point about if someone stole my car, thats very good thinking, i am a very narrow minded person...it was just so obvious how this only turned around once he saw my car, and the way he spoke to me....but yeah now that i think about it, the only reason he turned around is coz he loves them 4 round tail lights and just had to have a look;)

Your lucky, i hate thet car park coz last time i was in there some one backed, drove i dont know which right into my car and put some seriouse dints into it, its gunna cost a fair bit to get done, but reading how they got the scratched out of your car it makes me fell a little better coz the paint isnt damaged as such, just plastic/rubber burn from the other car, and the dints/damage, it would be possible to push these out from the boot i think, it hurt though, 3weeks after i got the car, was in schmick cond when i got it apart from a scratch caused buy preivious owner on the rear gurad, luckly the same as the one that has been damaged.

If you mean portable like a creative mp3 unit, that would be easy all you need is to pull the rca out of the back of your head unit and buy a stero>rca lead and hook the to rca ends up, and put the stereo plug in the headphone socket of your mp3, i do this with my my p/a system in my bed room, hook my discman,mp3 etc via the rca input. Only prob is that if you have any speakers hooked up to your head unit they wont put any sound out, makes shure you dont pull out the remote wire or the amp wont turn on. A bit of a pain every time you want to swap between sound sources, you could buy two extra rca cables (like those used to hook up the multi channel amps) and have your cd and mp3 hooked up at the same time.

So a decent blower were talkn some of the more populr brands such as eaton and such......and i wasnt really thinking 400kw at the wheels at all.......i was thinking maybe 50hp and slab of torque......lol.....heres what i been thinking as aparts list tell me how i would go with this: *microtech mt8 for the management..... *some extractors (such as those in the grup buy) *a charger That is not a toyota one......due to advisement against them. *a hks thick copper head gasket to lower compresion *a stock supra intercooler (decent size, cheap price) Hows the parts recipe looking now...what other things should be considered, how much would average cost to get all this work done????, this topic is really getting rolling now, keep it coming. REMEMBER: This is an investigation into a feasable alternative power up for the n/a skyline, and pending on what people think would depend on wether i will attempt it in the future. I have heard that the stock pistons dont like forced induction very much......any thoughts

I tried getting rid of the plastic mount, i gave up coz i felt like i was going to break something trying to take the panel off, i unscrewed and unpluged everything i could see and it still didnt wanna come off, you get enough room to mount most speakers if you got an mdf partition, and there is still enought clearance from the grill with this partition. To make mine i just traced around the factory speakers, cut it out, drill where the factory holes are then cut my 4" into the new partition, this has plenty clearance from the grill and the plastic pod, i even sat a crossover in the bottom of the door.
-
Funky...what size are your front splits, i got some 4" splits in there and mounted it on some thin pine board so i could put the factorygrill over the top
-
Yeah a bit off topic but the r33 and R32 gtst gearbox's are definatley different, this was being discussed in the silvia/180sx issue of HPI, the JMS yellow Onevia had the r33 box and rb20 engine
-
If the aftermarket stuff has same problems of the stuf that comes from the factory's ie: the factory cd player that came in my line.......it wont work any way lol, i think that maybe just the cd player that was in my car though, you will stilll need ot get frequency expander and the such any way.
-
Cheers, I dont have turbo but its still got enough power to get me into trouble, will have to go for a cruise someday when your back on the road.
-
I disagree that the rears dont do anything or arent worth worrying about, i only had rears for a while and with a decent amp hooked up to them the noise hits you clearly and hard (in my r32 any way) i think this could have alot to do with the angle of the back window but my rears are my high end sound apart from the subs...i got some cheap 4" and tweets in the front running of the head unit till i find something small and decent for the front.....there is no room in r32's for good big front splits that dont require a huge pod to mount them in.
-
yeah there are cheap turbo parts available but there are also cheap SC's available to.........i dont have the BOV sound now...cant say i want it either, i like the full descreet not let anyone know whats happening under the bonnet, dont draw attention etc......let em guess, the SC whine would be evident though, keep em realy guessing......i going to ask around the performance workshops and get there thoughts. How much are r33 half cuts these days any way??
-
I havent seen your car round for ages Chris, you dont know me but every one knows you lol, you dont cruise past the school much any more, should try to get a veilside front, they look tough, ship it in from Sydney..
-
yes i have noticed all the abandoned cars lying around the side of the road beacause the police have been checking redgos and taking plates, i have missed them so far, i havent really got any defects ( i hope, the cars stock xcept a muffler and mags)but i know police, if they want to get you for something they will try very hard, damn having a p plate sucks, they follow me till they get bored then they pull me over and breathalise me and check my redgo. This cop pulled me over the other day, and he asked me questions like, "this your car", as if i stole it or bought it with drugs or something?? This part really got me, he asked the standard, "you had any drinks tonight" i reply "no", and the cop says " whats that mean not in the last 15 minutes", bloody smart arse, i swear they get disapointed when they dont ping you for something.

I like hume coz its got more space, the fyshwick carts are good, but its cramped and a lap only takes 26-28secs at the very most, its fun, but hume is definately a less repetitive track, i must go there again, i never have any cash lol
-
Hi, i been a member on this forum for a fair while now, but never been into the act section, i live in QBN, and you will see me cruising civic and braddon almost every friday night burning petrol in a charcoal/grey r32 gts25, with p plates next to the number plate. Cant miss my muffler sound, it snaps any where from 2-3000rpm, its a crazy noise, i am still undecided as to wether i like the noise or not, got silver multispoke 17's aswell.......hope to see you guys around.....ps - damn there are some r33's in Canberra.....not complaining, but i like having my r32 coz there isnt as many..yet
