I'll tell you why Terri, NRMA are basing their prices on the highest CTP risk and sending them out. Thus hoping for any idiot to pay it. If you actually call them to discuss the particulars of the CTP for your situation it most of the time comes down.

Just another revenue raising holiday as far as I'm concerned. There are more people killed on the roads every other bloody day I don't see how making a double demerit weekend improves the safety of everyone on the roads.

Yea I didn't even realise until I was told this morning at work. I think its very misleading when they advertised it for midnight Wednesday (implying that it's starting on Thursday) until Sunday night.

Hi Guys, Just an FYI Double demerits have started from today and end on Monday. (Sunday Night) 5 DAYS! Bit of rubbish advertising from the state government/RTA (RMS) as usual. They only advertised it for 4 days from Thursday to Sunday. So everyone just take a little bit of extra care and stay safe x Dif

ACT & VIC are included in their registration costs. QLD and NSW have privatised the CTP cover so it will make it more expensive. From 1st Feb there was an increase in CTP pricing again due the 25% increase in CTP claims over the last 2 years.
