  1. Hey guys, So next month I'm looking at coming over to Perth. (long time listener first time caller) lol. I'll be there for about 2 weeks working in my WA office in Burswood and I need to hire a car so I can get to work and what not. I've done a bit of online research of course and everything is so damn expensive (min $400 for the 2 weeks). I'm not particularly fussy when it comes to car hire. Manual would be preferred but not necessary. I couldn't care less what the car was but does need to have aircon. Does anyone know of any local companies or have used local companies that are cheap to hire from? I've already tried all the big main companies Hertz, budget etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Nah If you want a 6monthly rego you have to renew within 21 days of the exp date. Check your rego papers.
  3. Ah, I'll be at top gear on the Sunday
  4. Lol.. Damnit. Thanks Terry, serves me right for doing 2 things at once.
  5. Yea sounds as thought to me you don't want to take any responsibility for your actions.. Maybe you should of had insurance in the first place then you would have this issue..
  6. Congrats on the success of the op portaz. Glad it all went well . hope you have a speedy recovery mate
  7. Can't read the font on the innovation theme!
  8. Good luck Portaz. Xoxo fingers crossed for you.
  9. Oh I'm not saying its a bad idea. It's good that they try and promote these things. Most of it is just common sense from my point of view I guess it's different considering the area I work in I've had to deal with them a lot. I just can't stand that roundabout rule will never use it will cause more problems if anything. Just last week I was doing a uturn around a round about indicating around I was in my truck mind you so not going fast but had a lady pull straight out in front of me from my left. She's very lucky I pulled up about 15cms away from her drivers door otherwise would have been some serious damage to her car bullbars but had I followed this stupid law and indicated left it could have been much worse for me/her.
  10. These rules are just common sense.. They have always been around, people are just to silly to learn them..
  11. *face palm
  12. Welcome James I saw a beautiful Black 32 94' in SA for sale not long ago. completely original with factory airbox and all. It was immaculate and only asking 16k. There are heaps out there, you just have to know where to look.
  13. Don't listen to this idiot.
  14. You aren't the only person who works in the industry. There is quite a few on here who are as well.
  15. Well you hit an Aston Martin... Sucks to be you.. Insurance companies can only claim for damages caused by the incident. They won't repair per existing damage. You'd be stupid to even bother claiming bankruptcy, it causes more problems being in it than not. You're lucky at the end of the day it's only 8k. Look at getting a loan or you can negotiate a payment plan/price if you are having financial difficulties. If you had insurance on the car at the time just lodge a claim.
  16. As title states. Alpine S type 12" sub in a clarion box. Came with the car I bought. I have no use for this stuff. Never used it. Ok condition. Pretty sure it works but will test it tonight. Dimensions are 600x350x350mm Asking $50 - buyer to pick up north syd/hills area. PM ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I DO NOT CHECK THREADS OFTEN ENOUGH SO I MAY NOT REPLY!
  17. There you go!
  18. Yea look I think everyone has almost had a bad experience with an insurance company. I sure have and have had to take on a big company to a small claims court. It doesn't mean that they are all bad and it doesn't mean the people that work there are any different. (we all have to work for a living) Thing that you have to remember is that there are so many processes and guideliness and it ususally favours the customer. They aren't here just to take our money. They still have to provide a service when you need it. Bit of both.
  19. My first few years of insurance with my 32 I was paying 3k + Not a lot of insurance companies would touch that type of car either can't remember if JCI was around at that stage. I went with a company called Famous which had merged with Young and cool few years down the track. I'm not even sure if they still exist. Just remember it will slightly come down as you get older but they aren't the cheapest car to insure even though it is a NA.
  20. That's an unusual thing for someone in the industry to say. You're lucky you are only paying $2k. You have to realise all insurance companies have guidelines that they have to abide by and if your parking arrangements come outside of those guidelines and there is a change within the risk they aren't obligated to keep any cover. Just be thankful they are still willing to offer you cover.
  21. Soo you can't drive it because they have damaged suspension? What's the issue? Drive it to your panel beater get a quote send the workshop that damaged your car a copy with a letter of demand or better yet if you're insured lodge a claim. Once it's fixed it will make no difference to your resale value if they do a good job.
  22. All the current PDS policies are available online for all the companies you've listed.
  23. See Terry here's where some of the information you are providing is incorrect. * Shannon's will not cover sunroofs. * Theft of keys and recoding is covered but of course limitations do apply. I don't want to hack on this thread but I don't believe it's a good idea to be trying to provide this type of information if you don't work in this industry, especially if its incorrect.
