Hey guys new to the site hopin someone can help me here,
issue started simple, my 1993 gts25t had noisy lifters from the day i got it, i started chuckin solutions through, worked for a while but the noise always came back to i decided to pull them out and get them put through an acid bath. While i had it apart i thought i might as well chuck a new water pump in, that was no worries, got my lifters back from the reconditioners (cost $200 to have them stripped and cleaned if any one is thinkin of doin it) oiled them up put them back in, didn't have the head off of course just took covers and cams out. torqued cam retainers to man specs, fitted belts and every thing and started the car.
thats was the good part it ran for one minute then it started screaming didnt know at the time but it was the exhaust cam seizing, any way when it did it caused the belt to jump four notches on exhaust side, the cam rotated again and took out four valves and bent the rest, not cool to hear !!. i stripped it again and found the cam had only seized on three retainers, whats goin on here ? is it possible the ports to those three were blocked, any ideas any one else had this problem , oil preasure was fine on the gauge too???????? cheers
