hey guys, I have an R33 Gtst 1995 , i just rebuilt the engine with ACL forged pistons, changed rings bearings gaskets... etc..... the car is driving well and it sounds well however when I put the running oil It was very very thin... so I called Valvoline and asked them what they thought I should do... they recommended putinbeg a minaral based oil with a grading of 15w40 (does this sound right???) anyway I put it in took it for a drive it was fine went for a 30 minute drive latter and oil presure sign started to come up however the pressure gage was reading fine.. i pulled over checked oil checked for leaks it was fine,... so i turned it back on it was gone... AS I headed back home it came back 10mins latter.. Once again checked oil...and it was fine.. I woke up next morining and drove it for 20 mins until it re-appeared, then it disapeard \< i have been causioly driving it for the last 2 days with not a hick up at all.. yesterday it came on again for 2 mins then it was gone.. the light comes very lightly (you can hardley see it ) then it gets brighter and brighter somtimes it just flashes... has this happend to anyone before?? I was told it could be the sending unit but it dosent make sense as gage is fine and i thought it was ran through the same unit. i cleaned all the oil line prior to fitting and blew them out with air comp ?? any suggestions ?? Thanks Amer

hey guys i have a huge problem and im looking for a soloution i have taken my car to a few mechanics who have done some tests and have all come up with diffrent soloutions. I have an R33 Skyline GTST 1995 with an ARC intercooler 3inch exhaust, Apexi pod and blitz bov stock boost About 9 months ago i had the car on the dyno and it had 175RWKW but the guy told me that it had exesive blow by and he thought its rings where shot. but said its not a big issue. I started experiencing misfires on bost and surging also, I thought it was related to the coils or sparkies so i changed them and gapped the sparkies worked for a while then stopped and got worse, It now seems like it running on only 5 cylinders so i took the car to the mechanic and he said it was rings and pistons as he did a comp test on the car and piston one came up at 50 psi however he didnt check the rest, I then decided to take it to another mechanic as the car still feels pretty strong and engine sounds imaculate with the exception of a miss which i can hear mostly through exhaust (very lumpy) The second mechanic said it was just rings so i took it to a third and he said its just a blown head and . seems to think its the cause of excesive blow by. When i took my coils and sparkies out to see if it was the issue i foud the sparkies where rusted which would probable point towards a blown head?? but no water in oil?? just wondering if anyone can shed some light onto this horror situation I dont mind spending money but i dont want throw money away. what do you guys think ??? any help will be appreciated

how would i know if they are stuffed from the inside?
-
plugs are gapped at 0.8 and i did use the shelly's silicone from bunnings ($11) when you had the miss did it pop at all or was it just choking ?

hi guys i recntly had some issues with my coil packs, my car was missing on hard excelleration, so i pulled the coils and painted them with nail polish as previously demonstrated on DIY. unfortunantley as some predicted due to the heat factor it didnt last so i pulled them back out and covered them with industrial silcone. which wistands high temp, however problem is still there. my question is, is it possible that my coils are that stuffed that they are no longer repairable, I would like to also add that the only reason why i reverted to painting them from the start was to boost more, and i never had an issue on stock boost. i know i am going to have to get new coils sooner or latter but i would prefer to hold off on them for a while and perhaps i can get splitfire coils . any help would be very much appreciated.
