  1. Hey fellas, what oil would be best to use in a Kazz 2way mechanical LSD? Have asked many a shop in my time up at Townsville last year and people did not even know what a mechanical LSD was! Any help appreciated
  2. Do you still have radiators for R33 GTS-T in stock! Am very interested as i need to replace stock radiator due to broken inlet pipe (plastic crap), car currently getting complete respray so no rush however. What would be the postage cost to Gold Coast! Cheers Scott

  4. Dont want to sound cruel but have you checked your fluid levels. Auto gearboxes play up heaps when they are down on fluid... Most importantly though get a service done, they will change fluid etc. Most problems you explain would be fixed by service..
  5. No disrespect taken, can see what you are getting at. He was after all predominately famous for bathurst in a Holden. But give credit where credit is due, he was an icon for motorsport, regardless of what he drove
  6. I for one think it is worthy of a cruise. Its Pete Brock, he raced 6 and 8 cylinders!!!! Another legend in the same week as Steve Irwin, gotta do something for a recognition of respect!
  7. They dont necessarily require replacement, if they are showing signs of stressing or cracking around the neck then definately replace, after all whats $30 bucks when it comes to holding part of your rotating assembly!!!!

The insurance company is Suncorp, cant complain about their service as of yet as the car was tended to promptly and will be given back later today. They will reimburse the excess when they retrieve the money from the other party involved. No set time limit that they told me but will look into that as well!! Thanks guys

Insurance company still making us pay upfront for the car. However I have confirmation that they will go after offending party for full value of the repairs including our excess. I have it in writing so all should be ok

Thanks for the advice, that is a VERY VERY good point. Will document all conversations with them tomorow and make sure everything is clear cut. Will cover my rear end as best I can. I do not want to admit liability as it was from no fault of my own. I obviously am a bit of a newbie at dealing with insurance so any other advice you recommend keep it coming. It is getting noted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What A Day!

Interesting, thanks for sharing that. Will investigate the matter fully with the insurance company to see exactly what is meant to happen and exactly what is happening. Will converse with them first thing in the morning. Will get to the bottom of this!

    What A Day!

That is the excess for our insurance, we opted for low premiums with a high excess. This is the first claim we have made in our five years of owning the skylines so it has paid for itself. Car is fixed, picking it up tomorow. Repairs were in the vicinity of 4000-5000 Two new headlights New Bonnet New Grille Repair Bumper Repaint bonnet, guards, bumper etc And fog light

Thanks Col for your concern, we pick up the car tomorow from the repair shop but unfortunatelyit will put us 1300 out of pocket till the insurance recovers us our debt. We will survive but its just down right annoying. Always when my car is 700km away getting painted..... And we are still going to get our new 17" mags on it tomorow that we were going to get the day the accident occured. Not changing my plans for this kind of buggerance. Thanks guys

    What A Day!

Thanks for the reply Col We rang insurance company tonight after the conversation, insurance company has the details but were unsure if they could force the owners to pay. Will find out definately in next couple of days. Will sink the boot a little further in and contact the council and let them know about an insecure yard for the dogs given they are on a main road, hopefully get them fined for that as well and sting them for the costs of having to construct a proper fence. Could have been sorted by a friendly conversation paying half/half and everyone happy. Now im annoyed at their attitude and they will pay. Maybe even more than my excess by the end of it. Then I can conduct a black-op and blow up their acreage!!!!!LOL.

    What A Day!

My partner just contacted the owners of the dog to try to sort out what they are going to pay towards our excess. The owners have had a complete backflip on their previous promise of assisting us with the insurance and yelled at my partner on the phone and were completely rude. They claim we were speeding and had the police come out and measure the skid marks and everything (so they say). I actually contacted the police the night that we hit the dog just to find out what happens in this case. Police said "is a civil problem not a criminal one." So theywould not touch it. I spoke to my friend who is a cop also and said this is governed by council by-laws. Police were not interested so how they had them come out and measure my skid marks seems a bit far fetched. We were actually going to happily go halves in the excess and forget about the matter, but after they were just plain out rude and aggressive towards us it is now the principle of the thing. At the end of the day if they claim we were speeding (what a surprise how a person in a skyline can not be obeying the law, TYPICAL) the fact of the matter is that they had their dogs on a public road and we hit the poor thing. What should I do???????

  21. Hey thought I may as well throw me two sedans in there, silver one has; 4.11 geared Mechanical LSD RB25 Bored 40 Thou with forged internals etc Wolf 3d V4 plus PWR FMIC Bosch 044 fuel pump GTR dash Electronic boost controller Modded Plenum Turbosmart Plumb back BOV Bilstein suspension Apexi Exhaust 3.5", turbo back 3" high flow cat HEAPS MORE to get 220kw@wheels (CAR CURRENTLY DISMANTLED FOR PAINTING, SOON TO GET OS GIKEN TWIN PLATE CLUTCH, LARGER TURBO, and 500cc Injectors Wifes car Dark grey is pretty much stock with HKS exhaust only
  22. Hey will be more than happy to check over it, you can tell if the km's are genuine by looking at some telltale signs, suspension bushes etc etc. I am a fitter and turner, marine fitter/engineer and an armourer who has done nothing but play with my two skylines for the past few years. Not a mechanic on paper as of yet but am thinking of bridging the gap to get that ticket as well. Will be more than happy to check it out for you mate, if they give us enough time I can compression test and all that crud as well. I recently rebuilt my motor, gearbox, diff etc so I know my way around the 33 quite well. Hate to see people get ripped so am more than happy to share the knowledge!!
  23. Surging caused by an air leak after the AFM (Air Flow Meter), so if the pod is loose it wont have any effect. But if anything is loose after the AFM, problems will start. With pod filter it is normal to get heaps of induction noise..... Air leak could be highly likely for lack of power as all that boost that is being created is leaking out, not to mention the car will be out of tune as the AFM tells it how much air is entering the system, ECU with leak getting incorrect reading and will be running it too rich. The car's ECU must have gone to limp home mode for it not to rev!!!! Best of luck with your potential skyline, if you were down on the gold coast i would happily go check it out for you..
  24. Excellent mate, good to see it is finally sorted! We were right it was the injector!!!!! Injectors are an absolute pain in the arse of a thing to diagnose. I Had a injector that was working fine but was dribbling constantly, the only symptom it had was blowing heaps of smoke when it was revved. That took me a good few days to find!!!!!

    What A Day!

Car goes in tomorow for the repairs to be done. I just hope they do it properly as replace parts rather than dodgy them up. Was a shame, after I can see the bare metal under the paint, I can conclude that it has never had bog applied to it before (never crashed). You are right, I feel bad asking them for money but rest assured if my dog was hit and damaged a car I would probably get sued or something. Car problem solved, friend has given me free reign of his 180sx for a week or so as he is away. The hurt is slightly less since I will be still in a nissan. Other car has just began to have the prep work done for its new paint, bare metal inside and out. Mate is doing a lot of work to it for cheap. Will be painted a very coarse metallic silver (looks sparkly) with a coarse metallic dark grey two tone on the bottom. Then being finished with a golden/purple pearl (depends on how the test piece turns out). I CANT WAIT (6 weeks or so to go but)
