  1. G'day all, I am about to undergo a few changes to the 4 door, the biggest is a full respray courtesy of mate who is pro-spray painter in Narrabri (thats inside and out). I am a bit unsure of what colour to go at this stage (thinking of XR6 sky blue colour that is on the BA Falcon). Any suggestions of colour would be welcomed, and if I were to go XR6 colour what do you think? The next part is polishing the engine pieces, intercooler pipes plenum etc. I have already started on this part as much as i can do with needing the car at present. I have been doing this car for the past 2 years, and it has come along way from the NA RB25 Auto it started as. Gone from that to manual and 220KW@the wheels. This is what she looks like at the moment? Help me pick a colour guys?
  2. I am also owner of two 33 sedans, sounds like one of your wheel weights may have come off, causing one of your wheels out of balance. Or, it could be caused by your brake discs being warped (will shake then if you place foot on brake). If it is happening under brakes a very slight shake is normal (since disc brakes are machined very slightly out of round to throw pads out). If you could explain when the shake happens or perhaps try to explain it a bit better I may be able to get a more accurate idea! Cheers mate
  3. Im using castrol edge 10w-60. Seems to maintain good oil pressure and does not breakdown with heat!
  4. Yeah i agree, spark plugs mate. The gap would be too high, factory gap is like 1mm which is great for standard boost but as air is compressed more you need stronger spark to ignite it. Drop your spark plug gap down to about 0.8mm. This should fix most problems. The computer on the skyline will run horribly rich after about 10psi, so when you want more than 10psi you need to start looking at ECU stuff!
  5. Thanks. Yeah will have to come along for a cruise. Will be a good way to meet some people. How often do you guys go for cruise? Next couple of weekends are out but after that will be keen as mustard!!!
  6. Im new to the area and are looking to get out and about. Just got here at the start of year and am keen to get out for cruise or something! I live up at Canungra and the poor car has been sitting in garage feeling neglected. Need to get it out but as i said i know nobody at GC and have no idea where to go!
  7. Hey no worries, here is some pics of the rocket. It probably seems like a bit of a sleeper, but then again cops never worried me before. All work on this car has been done by myself, even the engine rebuild (except balancing and machining work). Only been to shop for dyno tuning
  8. Hey guys, I am new to the Gold Coast area and as a result know absolutely nobody in the area. Just come down from Townsville at beginning of year! Am keen to meet some fellow skyline owners and get out and have cruise or something. Car sitting in shed and has not had any fun for a while. If anyone interested lets get out and about. Probably seems a bit desperate but i want to get me car out and enjoy the common interest of skylines with others! I have a R33 GTS sedan, has been modded extensively with Series II RB25 DET (Bored to 2.6 litres with forged internals), Manual, Kazz Mech LSD 4.11 diff ratio, Plenum Modded, IC, Wolf3d V4 plus, etc etc. Car puts out 220KW@the wheels. Look forward to hearing back from yas!!!
  9. Check your catalytic converter mate, having 33 with same sort of prob and replaced cat converter and it seems to have improved economy somewhat
  10. Hey mate, when looking at an R32 GTR you must realise that they are becoming an old car nowadays! You may be lucky but many of them are long in the tooth and motors are getting old regardless of KM's on the dash. The best method is buy one that suits you, factor in the fact that it may need a rebuild soon (unless you jag a good one). The price of an R32 is becoming relatively cheap now, and an engine rebuild is not all that much considering you will be buying a prestine sports car. THe chance to rebuild the motor gives you the reassurance that the motor will be new again and is a good base for mods you wish to undertake. As i said however you may be lucky and get a sweet one straight up, which in that case you are cheering. The R32 GTR is an old car and the best way to test engine is with compression testing. Shop around, a cheap ne may be a great way to go if you are going to need to rebuild anyway. Just food for thought, good luck in your quest.
  11. Hey mate, the only pipe i can think of there is for your factory boost control/wastegate pipe. This transfers boost pressure to your wastegate to regulate boost. You must have this as your turbo will ultimately overboost and kill itself. You can tee off another pipe to maintain boost control. Doesnt really matter which pipe you tee off just as long as it is after turbo and gets the positive boost pressure!!! It really should have a provision for this but it is no big prob! Must be hooked up though. This tube tells your wastegate when to open to regulate boost, if you have an aftermarket boost controller etc it would be joined to this hose, but as i said, you can tap off any pressure line to have the same result. The nearer the turbo the better!!!!
  12. Hey all, just wondering about prices of lifters etc for RB25 DET, stock and aftermarket. At current i have the standard hydraulic lifters and have a couple noisy ones beginning to occur. Just wondering what is involved in replacing all with solid lifters or prices on standard lifters to replace crap ones? Car is running 220rwkw with no aspirations for more mods, just want to make it reliable and quite again? Any suggestions and comments welcome!!!!
