  1. You made a good choice - apart from perhaps 1 or 2 models of road tyre from my knowledge the KU-36s have the most dry grip so they are amongst the best money can buy. Its awesome that they are so cheap. A friend has found that they take a while to wear in, so unless you have given them a few workouts already, they will only get better
  2. In my experience you cannot beat the KU-36 for price/performance. If they were the same price, I would choose the RS-Rs over the KU-36s. Outright grip from both is awesome for a street tyre but the RS-Rs feel better to me. I cant put my finger on it but they feel the closer to an R comp in feel(not necessarily grip) than the KU-36s do even though they both have similarly soft sidewalls. If you want good performance on the track dont bother with either of these, use R comps. Even some second hand ones if you can get them will feel and hopefully grip better.

  13. Hey mate did you get my PM about the headlights? I was waiting on a MMS from you but have not received one.
  14. The issue with a 2871r is more the turbine size being too small to power the 71mm compressor more so than the housing size. Consensus amongst sr20 people is that the .64 is the housing to use - the .86 doesnt deliver on an sr20. The HKS gt-rs uses a .64 housing on their sr20 kit so this is an indication of what works best.
  15. Thanks, but why would HKS use a surge ported housing on their RB specific GT-RS? I have the turbo already but im scared to go through the effort of fitting and tuning it only to find out it surges.
  16. S2 compressor wheel is plastic, turbine wheel is ceramic S1 compressor wheel is steel, turbine wheel is ceramic So if this is from a series 2 is has a ceramic exhaust wheel just like any other r33 stock turbo.
  17. Pulling up and old thread but with a related question - I have a new 2871r and HKS 2530 housings. My plan is to use the 2871 (GT-RS spec - 52 trim, 0.6a/r) with the HKS 0.64 T3 exhaust housing. Is there a chance I will run into compressor surge issues on an rb25? Has anyone done this and had good results?
  18. Just to let you know, I pm'd this seller a couple of weeks ago and have not heard back from him yet.
  19. Also interested to learn anyones experience with the evc-s
  20. Part 3 - The Drive! We drove though city, snow and desert all in one day. Heading up to Mount Charleston Breakfast time on the mountain Posing before we left the carpark After this headed back to the highway towards Death Valley in California. Hadn't driven far before it was time to feed the beast Back on the road Entering Death Valley National Park We met people everywhere we stopped, I let plenty of people jump into the car for photos throughout the day Its ok to look like a pinhead when your in a Lambo! 81 metres below sea level Filling up again before driving back toe Vegas for the night. We stopped at a town called Pahrump, was chatting to a teenager.. after a while he goes 'hey have you heard of the Nissan Skyline'? haha!!!!!!!!! Showed him some pics of my car back home, turns out he loves Skylines and wants to buy one! Didnt break it to him that they are RHD only unless he could afford an r35 We spent the night back in Vegas. Car was due back at 10am the next morning, ill upload the final drive from the following morning next.
  21. 1.10 is very quick in a gts-t, particularly a pretty standard one - I dont think this is a good indication of what most people achieve As a general guide - assuming you have around 180rwkw like most mildly modded GTS-Ts you should be able to do between 1.15-1.17 on street tyres.
  22. Originally had the LP640 booked and paid for but had insurance issues so ended up with the Gallardo - I always mix up the two when writing about them so if I write Murcielago I really mean Gallardo! I had heaps of pics and how it was to drive to post up soon! Did you ever have a chance to max out your Countach or Diablo?
  23. Part 2 - Picking up Didnt have a proper map, so ended up holding a piece of paper over my laptop screen and tracing out google maps with a pencil Sleep deprived, anxious and armed with my hand scribbled map, I was downstairs ready and waiting for delivery at 9am sharp. Minutes passed by and we started mistaking cabs for my Murcielago. Two phone calls for reassurance and about 35 anxious minutes later the car arrived. The car looked absolutely amazing on first sight. I love black wheels on a Murcielago but thought our car would have silver. For bonus excitement it turns out the car did have black wheels - suited my mental dream car image perfectly. The driving lesson I was stressed out. My brain couldnt deal with the crazy excitement, risk, cost and ridiculousness of what I was doing. In my breakdown state I Jumped in the passenger seat, signed my credit card away and then it was time for a driving lesson. This consisted of me taking the drivers seat while the owner showed me how to use the e-gear system, electric roof, mirrors etc followed by a drive around the block. The initiation made the whole situation even more surreal - I was about to be let loose with a 500hp bright orange supercar after being shown how to adjust the mirrors and drive around the block. We pulled back into the TI driveway, the owner jumped out and car was all mine.
