  1. ill be stuck at work this year last year near there was heaps of space near the zoo on the shoreline, just had to walk through some bush to get there bradfield park was always my favourite
  2. Im assuming its this one? (Pic taken at Sydney Auto Salon last weekend)
  3. that defect notice they gave you specifies that to be cleared you need to get a minor part inspection at an AUVIS. This means that you only need to get it inspected at any place that can provide a blue slip. Put the parts that were mentioned on the notice back to standard, then get it inspected. You may not even have to change the exhaust, talk to the place you are going to get it passed by and see what they say needs to be changed before doing anything. Either way, you don't need to take it for a full RTA inspection and emissions test, so dont stress about it, it is not big deal. You will probably still have your license for a while yet, so get it done now while you can drive. Sorry to see you got caught out!
  4. Ahhhh crap... Doesnt sound too good! I didnt expect it to be that bad... after lots of thinking i decided for a number of reasons, stuff it i will go up there for a holiday, NOW! One of the minor reasons was to enjoy the unrestricted roads before the new laws are in place. I guess that wont be happening if we are unlucky with the weather. Dates are sort of set on the last week and a half of this month. Would you say it is still worth going for a holiday in this month, or not worth it due to the chance of a washout? We plan on holidaying around the red centre, probably not up towards Darwin at all.
  5. This worries me, can anyone tell me how bad it is? For example, around Alice Springs, how many days in December it rains, and when it rains how bad? Flooded roads? Looking at past weather records (although the records stopped ages ago) it seemed that around Alice it only rained around 6 days per month in December, although when it does rain it is very heavy. Is this right?
  6. Some more pics I think most of us are more interested in these subjects than the metal type
  7. It was a good day, lots of nice cars, was great to see a supra pull nearly 700rwkw on the dyno. Here are a few pics to start with.
  8. there is a good explanation of it in the review of the r34 GTR in car uk magazine, it works as djr81 says. steering the opp way on turn in is meant to make turn in feel sharper, although imo it just makes turn in feel wonky and unsettled. once in the turn, the wheels turn the same way, which is meant to make the car feel more stable mid corner. Ill try to remember to scan and post up the article soonish. it clears up a lot of ideas about how hicas an attessa work.
  9. my bushes are all fine, there is no excess movement and the only effects that i feel from hicas are negative, and this is with street driving in my r33-gts-t with the electronically actuated hicas. if there are good effects when it it doing what it does during normal driving then it is doing it well because i dont notice and the car feels good, but i doubt it makes up for the ill effects when driving hard. even friends driving behind the car have seen how hicas unsettles it, espeically when turning into a corner. plenty of people drive their gtrs 10/10ths and what do you think constitutes 'outdriving the hicas computer' anyway??? my answer to the first poster would be if you like cruising around and so far have not noticed anything out of the ordinary dont bother getting rid of it.
  10. from the page: "You do not know why is, but R31 (the Indian ram system) the emergency brake works like the ogre" hahahahahahahah!!!!
  11. i had s15 rims on the front of my r33 for a while and they looked horrible!!!! r33 rims looks bad enough offset wise by the s15 rims took it too far. dont do it handling wise cant really comment as they were used temporarily and when i was using the car for 'fun' if you know what i mean. and depending on the quality of tyre you can have good and bad handling/grip with 205s its too general a question...
  12. Is there a firm date on when the new limit will be implemented? I am always worried about hitting animals even on backroads in NSW, is the animal situation real bad in NT Duncan? The worst thing i find around NSW is that usually when there is animals there is bushes around the road so they pop out of no where, im assuming most roads in NT arent that bushy!?
  13. does it have a catch can? if so the catch can could be hooked up wrong and it is pressurising the sump if not i would have grave concerns about the motor, as another possibilty is that you are are getting large amounts of blow by which is pressurising the sump and the engine will need rebuild to fix it. get it compression and leakdown tested.
  14. thats what i thought, there are too many rumours going around.. anyway im pretty sure that there were two actually sold locally. one of them is owned by a guy who is on the torana forums, he has posted up close pics of all the different bits of the car it is definetly a 427. I also saw it in person at eastern creek when he brought it down to have a go a few months ago on a supersprint day. (i dont think he lives in NSW though)
  15. I feel the same way, im sure most people do! What a stupid solution to the problem, are they retarded? I have never had the chance to go to NT but was really looking forward to it, with the new speed limit its that much less attractive to go now.
  16. i thought the supercharged monaro was always available in the UK from years back, i definetly have CAR UK mags that have it listed in the back section from at least 2 years ago... im not at home atm otherwise i would double check but i am 90% sure... they also got the racelogic traction control in their monaros.
  17. haha is that the truth, or is your News Limited? i have also read in multiple magazines reference to porsche doing testing in South Africa rather than NT for the last few years.
  18. Nope they dont kick you out, around 2pm is the time when they stop letting new customers in Lunch queues are pretty bad too! I wouldnt head there if you are in a rush, or if you are in a group of more than about 4, its just too hard! (especially if you have come from a fair distance, more dissapointment!)
  19. A warning about Sushi Suma - Cleavland St Surry Hills, during the week they only have lunch till 2pm. I found out once the hard way once ages ago, and then last week i walked over looking forward to some Teriyaki goodness but was turned away at 2:05, (and am still frustrated, i was craving the Teriyaki that day!) i knew i was forgetting something on the way there!! Next time ill just have to eat twice as much to make up for it.
  20. Have not used them either but ridden in 2 cars fitted with them.. Can agree that they are excellent in the dry, don't really need warming as they aren't a proper semi slick they are a road tyre which is the closest u can get to a semi slick. they have tread wear of 180 or 200 i cant remember. precisely but i think it is 200. On that point its also worth mentioning that they are the replacement for the rt-215 which was recognized as performing to its best without warm up They are are definitely not poor in the wet, once again i have not driven on them but driven along with a few cars fitted with them and on a damp/not very wet surface they are way better than normal top of the line sports tyres like t1-r and sport maxxs. I would say that when they road is very wet ie. a pool of water covering the road they are not as good as a regular all weather sports tyre but still not poor or dangerous like falken 326s for example can be Edit:removed image, and this should really have been posted in the tyre thread.
  21. Another vote for Sushi Suma - Cleavland St Surry Hills, (right near the BP petrol station) As Sewid said, LARGE meals, awesome value, and very tasty Teriyaki chicken. The Teriyaki and sushi combo is good pick, its around $14 and a big meal for one person. Also true is that it is always packed. Im walking distance so its not so bad to turn up there and find a massive queue but booking is a good idea. Ive only ever been to have lunch there, ill try dinner soon! Sewid, sounds like Masuya is my type of place, im excited to go check it out soon!
  22. he is not saying anything interesting because he does not want to risk having problems with his insurance claim. from what he has said so far you can tell he believes(or will say) that it was not his fault
  23. FORD TERRITORY DRIVERS WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!!! Maybe they think they are king because their car was 2004 wheels car of the year? Thats the only reason i can think of apart from the obvious being a 4wd issue.. I find riced up lancers and civics more fun to laugh at than annoying.
  24. i have t1-rs myself and have ridden in 2 cars with 615s, you cant really compare the two, the 615 is designed way more agressive tyre, they will wear out quicker, be noisier, harsh ride, and biased towards dry girp whereas a t1r is a normal top of the range tyre which is quiet, softer sidewalls, better life etc. so you shouldnt compare the two, but if you want a comparison i can tell you that the 615s dry grip is incredible when compared with the t1-r. the t1-rs are some of the best normal road tyres i have tried along with sport maxxs, but in terms of dry grip they are light years away from 615s. a fairer comparison would be 615 vs toyo r1r but r1rs are not sold here anymore anyway...
  25. once i get near home i drive slowly and then shut the car straight off, turbo timers are annoying wank items and mine is permanently switched off.
