  1. haha i have been slowly accumulating! so far i have (on the cheap!!!) stock r33 rims two have different tyres and two have no tyres some old 16 inch tyres to put on the rims with no tyres that i bought for $20 (both) now im just looking for some matching tyres for the other two wheels, but if not i guess they will have to do, they are going to get destroyed anyway i dont want to kill my new expensive front tyres on my 17s so ill run the shit tyres on 16s all round i hope i can keep the car on the skidpan what are u going to use on the skidpan?
  2. eagle tyres in granville is also who i would reccomend for used tyres and new tyres, you wont be dissapointed
  3. its actually a 5w-60 (not sure if u made a typo or read it wrong!) but yeah looking at the viscosity ratings thats what i thought.... wouldnt using this cause more damage than harm due to the cold viscosity? (also noticed missing stuff...)
  4. Hey mate i think you are paying too much for that oil, as i called a place (listed in a post on the last thread) which sells packs of three 5L bottles for approx $177 incl gst, works out at $11.80 per litre. they are called fueldirect in homebush, sydney, 1300781982.
  5. i had a quick look at the specs for the penrite 5 oil http://www.penrite.com.au/files/WKRXR86PLF...E%20OIL%205.pdf i dont understand all the figures but from what it looks to me like its way to thick when cold and maybe also a bit too much when warm. (although not doubting its outright protection capabilty in terms of sheer etc.) wouldnt this result in high wear on cold starts? can someone explain?
  6. u cant compare 300v to the others just for the fact that the price is so different!! turbolight is$45 retail for 5 litres, 300v is $90 for 4 litres!!!!!
  7. i think you should read up a bit more on oils, there are standards regarding oils which make it pretty clear cut why some oils are better than others, in relation to which others are saying turbolight is an average oil, beacuse it IS otherwise it would be specified otherwise. how do you know your car has run exceptionally well? have you had your engine apart for inspection? have you have a used oil analysis done to see how it is wearing? just because it seems to run well doesnt mean too much. your not knowing a significant reason for using full synthetic as opposed to a semi shows you dont really know too much about engine oils, so maybe you should listen to the guys who are telling you otherwise have a read of the links posted in the thread and also have a look at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ and maybe you might have a different view. btw i am not against turbolight or anything i use it myself but not because i think its an above average oil.
  8. "The driver sped through the area - a 60 kmh zone - at about 80 kmh " my moneys on r31, r33s always get caught doing at least 45 and over
  9. mine shows 5115 as said before...
  10. I would not take HPI figures as gospel. do you know if they used proper timing equipment? i have seen other magazines testing performance with G-tech meters, thats just stupid they shouldnt publish those figures....
  11. no way is a stock r33 gts-t that quick over the quarter mile. not 100% sure about 0-100 but i would say that they would do closer to 7 seconds.
  12. hey guys what you have done looks awesome, i have not done one for myself but i have an idea for solving your hard drive problems that no one has mentioned. have any of you considered microdrives? for approximately 200 (ebay prices by the way) you can buy a 6gb microdrive. they are still mechanical so you have to be careful with them, but they are way more resistant to being thrown around than a regular hard drive. ou could use one of these to run a lot of your programs and music/videos off, although it would be best to use a traditional ( get a cheap small one) HD to run the OS off for some speed in case you are not familiar with them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microdrive
  13. im pretty sure the figure i see when mine maxxes out it 5115, definetly not 5095.

    Putty Road

altogether from windsor if you go all the way to singelton its approx 170km, if you go from windsor to the end of the good bits its about 150km. round trip from the city all up about 350km, at night it takes around 4-5 hours including stopping for petrol stuffing around etc. also keep in mind there is no petrol station open late at night at singleton so u have to fill up at windsor at the latest or you risk running out on the way home the roads for the first 2/3 are good with some average sections, the end 1/3 has a lot of new surfaces so is very good. fair few wombats and kangaroos around too. there is a freaky looking monastery half way with blue lit up crosses..
  15. How many people will be attending altogether?
  16. That sucks, i knew that carpark was dodgy, i shop there quite often at night now i will be even more worried! And to everyone saying stuff like get a better alarm etc, do you guys honestly think it will make a difference? You are wrong, who cares if you have microwave sensors what difference will it make? the theif will get in the car and the first thing they will do is pop the bonnet and shut the siren up(20 seconds if your lucky!). Besides since when do people take notice of sirens anyway! so dont think that your car is secure just because it has any type of fancy alarm, its not! Anyway JZ lucky at least u still have the car, hope you have luck with fixing it up!
  17. sorry to hear, mind saying where it happened?
  18. ive been charged the toll plus 10 as well, letter came approx a month after i used it. since then i have not paid for at least 2 months, cant find the letter (somewhere in the mess on my desk) and so now am hoping they will just let me off without paying since no reminder has been issued so far (i doubt it though!)
  19. hmm ok thanks thats what i thought. my battery will probably go flat after using the stereo for 2 hours dont others have this problem?
  20. ive always thought about this in my head, and wasnt sure if made sense. now thats its been spelt out i know it always made sense, thanks for typing it out!
  21. in relation to the drive in, do you hear the sound through your radio? if so does that mean that you have to run your car stereo off your battery for the whole movie??
  22. shit that just made me hungry!! grease is just so tasty!
  23. thats cool... sorry about all the questions! but i have one more, can spectators(friends who are not driving) watch from the side of the skidpan??
  24. hmm that sucks so not even other paid drivers can come passenger??
