  1. there is specific instrument repairers, look them up in the yellow pages for one in your area, otherwise find another working cluster.
  2. my dads car was regassed around a year ago using the old gas (assuming its r12) rather than being changed to the new gas. it cost $114, and the guy apparently siphons it out of wrecked cars.
  3. take it back to the panelbeater, i think it would be wiring that they did not fix properly (or damaged themselves!) and have seen this myself causing other problems..
  4. how do u know that the injectors dont pulse? i really doubt it... im assuming u are talking about how the injector duty drops to zero(powerfc) on no throttle sometimes, it does with my car too and believe the injectors are still injecting, just too small an amount to register.
  5. just hope its not a home made bomb that will explode in time... i would be worried!
  6. i like your reasoning.
  7. usually for me its to harrys at woolloomooloo or krispy kremes at mascot when it comes to short drives just to get out.
  8. I am not an expert, but from what i could see by quickly having a look at the optima web site, these batteries would perform similar to a red top optima. the yellow top are more towards a proper deep cycle battery for use in car audio applications, and not so much for starting the car all the time. also note that the optimas have a heavy duty casing, these dont, just a normal plastic case like other car batteries. (not relevant anyway when u are installing it in your boot...)
  9. hey mate, as wrxhoon said, the supercharge gold batteries are nothing like the ones being sold (i have one of wrxhoons batteries) supercharge gold are in fact a normal maintenance free battery(i used to have a semi sealed one), where as the ones that are being sold here are gel cell or dry cell and are similar to the oddessey range. a real deep cycle would not be suitable for normal car use, maybe look up what a deep cycle battery is and then u will see that the oddesseys are not really a deep cycle battery. either way, they are pretty much the same as an oddessey.
  10. any excuse to cruise and/or eat is a good excuse for me
  11. i paid about 150 for the standard r33 pump from nissan, considered the N1 pump at the time was about the same price, the N1 flows less at lower revs than normal pump so dont buy it unless u go to the track all the time or u risk overheating in normal conditions. VL pump fits too u can get non genuine ones from places like auto1 for around $80
  12. i just got mine regassed a week ago, guy showed me there was barely any gas in there, regassed it now works fine, only thing is the clutch makes a clunk noise when u turn the a/c on for the first time in a few days, the guy said it was fine they sometimes do that, does anyone else have this happen?
  13. i agree. i painted mine black with engine enamel out of a can, and noticed nothing, apart from newfound stealth
  14. i use one jaycar 2x80 for splits, and 2x250 for sub, i use the sub amp bridged to feed an image dynamics 12" sub 500wrms, and have no complaints. no issues with the 2x80 for the splits either. only issue i have is the 6.5' splits, fair enough for the money u cant really get any better, but in absolute terms, i believe they are bad. midrange is OK, but the tweeters are wayyyy to bright and sound harsh, maybe a customised crossover would help. also the crossovers for the splits are in unnecesarily big cases, i had to trim one to fit it anywhere
  15. my car was idling funny and did not show as much vaccum as normal the last time or two i have driven it, i had a quick look tonight and found out that the vaccum hose going to the FPR from the plenum had come off the FPR. there has been no unusual knocking shown on the powerfc, so i am assuming it must not have leaned out too much? it has not knocked at all and i have floored it plenty of times, i am running 10psi on rb25... could there be other damage?
  16. if u go reasonably early or have a vip pass the wait should not be too long. last time i went early just before it opened and was on the guest list so got in easy. if dr_s15 cant hook u up with vip passes or guest list i probably could so pm me or something.
  17. make sure u have a good look at coverage maps, as in sydney it does not cover to very far, ie not past penrith or on the other end hornsby (last i knew) when i had it, they used three towers located around sydney to triangulate your position, they do not use the mobile phone network. i used to have quicktrack and it was a good service for most of the time, but sometimes a bit unreliable, ie. they did not know where the car was when they called me if the alarm went off. i would reccomend ezitrak instead. uses gps and gsm so more chance of coverage wherever u are. http://www.ezitrak.com.au/index.htm
  18. i was there last time, good event will prob go again.
  19. yeah a guy i randomly spoke to in the carpark told me, another reason the cops turned up at the end of it i suppose, apparently the three cars stolen were all old cars commonwhores and falcons, i suppose they were amateur knobs just wanting a joyride. idiots!!
  20. the commonwhore apparently got stolen and smashed by the theives, i heard that altogether 3 cars were stolen from the carpark. sun was bad!!
  21. i was there, i loved the capa 7 litre monaro that was insane, 840bhp, sounded awesome!!!!!!!! i thought the judges were stupid, and that it was not really fair, and more of really just the judges personal opinion not following any type of guidelines. funniest moment was when i was standing in the carpark leaving at about 9pm, a guy in a new hilux was doing donuts on the grass, hit a ridge and rolled onto its side!!!!!!! some people gathered up and pushed it back upright, i guess the drivers ego got a big beating after that!!!! anyone see that too??
  22. 90 is just for the belt, labour should not be more than about 250. if u do water pump at the same time (they are often leaking and in need of replacement too) a genuine rb25 one is about $150 from memory, or u can get a aftermarket rb30 water pump for about $80, plus the cost of new coolant, say $30-40 edit: if u change all the other belts, i cant 100% remember for sure but i think around 70 for the rest (non genuine) labour wise probably 1 hour extra for the other belts.

    New Car

liverpool exhausts are good value, for BOV look on the forum..
  24. i cant believe u guys wait till your odo says 100k, if you honestly believe the odo you being a bit optimistic i think! any import i would buy, or help a friend to buy would have at least its timing belt changed ASAP after purchase no matter whether the odo says 30k or 230k. also mar55s 135 is a lot for genuine belt, from nissan parts department it should be about $90.
  25. ill be there watching 2morrow, its gonna be good! 88silhouette, dont make excuses be a real man and show us some smoke!
