well i know that if u put an auto cluster into a manual car they read about half too slow, i believe the speedo sender on the gearbox is different. so by that logic if you have a manual cluster and an auto car it would probably read double.

yeah sorry my mistake, thats for gts-ts, on r34 gtrs they are on the intake snorkel 32/33s cant remember seeing one.

PowerFC: Some DIY tuning comments please
siksII replied to paulr33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey paul, from what you have explained, it sounds like your economy is on ball with most others, including me. i measure my economy every single tank, by working out kms over how much has gone into the tank (fill every time) i have found if u fill when the needle is on empty you will have approx 20L left in the tank, assuming u get 320km/45L (65L tank) your economy is 14L/100km which is not THAT bad for stop start driving. when the petrol light flashes there is about 15L left, when is is on all the time 10L left. as a comparison, on the freeway my car drinks approx 9-10L/100kms open road with hills/corners etc approx 14L/100km very light city driving about 14L/100kms hard city driving about 18-20L/100km i have powerfc with pretty much base maps, runs very rich and lacks power but never pings, i need to get it tuned. -
i got mine from battery world tempe as well. they had them in a cardboard box, no packaging, so maybe they only had a few sets spare. just call them. oh and dont buy stuff like clamps from them they are a rip off, i got my wider clamp for $4 from repco.

9 puck generally speaking would be similar to a full face, and a hell of a big difference to a 3 puk. if u dont have much power just get a full face u dont need a puk clutch
-
95 models had them as standard for driver 93-94 they were an option
-
DAMMITTTTTT i probably would have come anyway and said stuff the assignment (still doing it) but who cares maybe next time. and seeing that all this illegal hooning, robberies and resulting politics are going on maybe it was best to miss it
-
so the road was completely dried out? i couldnt come because stupid assignment, plus the rain the night before put me off a bit (thinking that it would continue)

i think the pic with the pods is just a pic with the (aftermarket) airbox removed. it would be the same car, especially since the engine bay is black and the car is silver just like in the other pics, and that silver can look dark depending on light... one of those silver stickers come standard on the cam cover from new and is usually written on (kms) when the timing belt is changed, no idea why they have been stuck to the airbox.

haha looks exactly like my car red series 2, what a clown.
-
well they are more efficient than r33 gtsts, so what does that make them
-
ok well whoever did it OWN UP, we know u are here somewhere, it sure as hell wasnt me in my red gtst
-
well talking plugs, i swapped old (40,000kms 2.5year) iridium ix plugs which looked fine for new coppers, no difference. i only changed them because they were old... i believe the standard coils in conjunction with being old somehow get damaged inside after being exposed to a lot of heat. mine started arcing all of a sudden, within days after i went to a skidpan day(refer to picture ), lots of sustained high revs, and it was a very hot day
-
my coils started arcing to the brackets (at least three of them) and as has been mentioned i bought the splitfires because they were cheaper than nissan ones. they look exactly the same, and i can tell you that there was definetly NO power increase when compared to my stock coils when they were working properly and talking gaps, with my splitfires i have run both coppers and iridiums with the standard 1.1 gap with no problem, but only at 10psi.

water pump, bearings and belt can all be done with engine in if that is what u are asking
-
i have seen 340rwkw on an internally standard rb25, but the owner understood that running with that power the car would not last long but yes it is possible, just not for too long.
-
duncan, i dont believe any r390s were for sale? arent they all factory owned?i cant remember clearly as i read and article on them years ago when they came out. but yes, i am sure it would be fully sik

Traction Issues - Work In Progess
siksII replied to paulr33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i used to have hks hyper-d suspension, changed to whiteline springs and bilsteins, that made a small difference in straight line accelleration, next step was to buy a set of toyo t1-rs. now i have sh*tloads of traction, even if i dump the clutch at 4500-5000rpm the car takes off. so good tyres = huge difference for straight line. and in terms of tyre pressures, if you have low profile tyres in my experience it makes virtually NO difference for straight line grip if u lower the pressures. for example with my old tyres i dropped pressures from 38psi down to 22psi it made no difference to the amount of straight line grip. but since u say u have very good tyres already, looks like the only option you have left is alignment products, which will definetly help. i have driven a gtst with a lot of power and stock suspension, the back end wobbled around heaps under accelleration resulting in a really unstable car, so i can imagine what yours is like. -
Jeez sounds like DIRTgarage has a big chip on their shoulder, getting all defensive and rude, after someone says they can do the same job in half the time. Its ok that someone is faster than you, DIRTgarage, no need for such an attitude. And on this topic, i know wrxhoon can swap gtr turbos in 8 hours, and has done so several times, so i would not expect an experienced workshop to take longer. So cowie165 leave them on, and if you do take them off, put back on new turbos because either way 8 hours is a long time to do something which is not really necessary.

dont worry u will get used to it, it takes a while with a button clutch.
-
putting any type of oil in wont help the fact that the clutch is hard to use. thats only for less crunching.
-
is the car down on power? or power feels normal? most likely some sort of electrical related problem but then again..... best thing to do is a compression test that will tell u straight away if you have properly stuffed it
-
just keep driving it u will eventually get used to it, i have a brass button in mine and unless u give it some revs (i never do, i dont like to slip clutches) u cannot take off smoothly, it is always jerky.

6 inch jl audio splits are too small to fit in stock r33 pods, and jaycar 6.5" are too large to fit in the standard pods. so its an odd size. i made up mdf plates onto which i mounted the speaker, then screwed the mdf plate onto the door. this way u get better mid bass than with the stock plastic pods too.

i bought some oddesey terminals that come with allen key bolts than screw into these batteries, i got mine from battery world near tempe on the princess hwy in sydney, there is many battery worlds around the state im pretty sure they all sell them. for the pair it cost $18, they are large tapered terminals u can see pics that someone else has posted of them (transplanted from their old odessey to their new battery)
