  1. i would agree that suspension is a nicer upgrade than power to start with u get a big difference for relatively little $$ also less things get used towards their limits.
  2. read through the forum some more use the search function and u will find all the answers to these questions, but for now to get that power u need turbo back exhaust 3" is fine (1200) front mount ic(1200) power FC (about 1500 including tune) bleed valve (set to around 10-11psi) ($50) that will give something around that figure. and u will be able to run low 13s given decent launch with that setup most second hand cars have at least an exhaust anyway so u prob wont have to buy everything. sponsors on the forum sell stuff at good prices, otherwise second hand stuff is cheap on this forum. if u want new cheapest and reliable from japan www.nengun.com although sometimes u have to wait a long time for parts and customer service can be slow.
  3. there is no point dumping at the redline u will just wheelspin, so forget about launching at the redline u will get nowhere! in an r33 with a bit more power than stock, depending on tyres most people launch at between 3-4 grand to get a good mix of wheelspin/traction. stock clutch will be fine if its in decent condition, in terms of other things that break you dont have much to worry about launching a gts-t the gearboxes and other components are strong.
  4. black smoke is extra fuel so its not a worry it most probably be plugs and maybe the base timing is set wrong.
  5. LOL sorry but i dont see why you are so worried about clutches!!!! chances are the car u buy would have an aftermarket clutch anyway. if it doesnt, when the clutch slips replace it, till then, forget about it you wouldnt replace it with a stock one. a suitable clutch for a mildly modded r33 should cost no more than about $500 plus 250 labour.
  6. those mods will give u a shitload more than 15hp at the wheels! more like 70hp at the wheels. car with those mods typically produces about 170-185rwkw and stock they produce around 130rwkw.
  7. i use prolock, always looked the toughest to me (at a reasonable price)
  8. a section 10 with good behaviour bond is not applicable unless you are on your full license, so forget about that.. and i am quite sure you will get hammered in court, especially with all the bad publicity lately, if i were you i would put my car up for sale right now, you will probably have to wait a 3 years before being able to drive one again! (until u get your full license)
  9. u can actually remove the coil cover without removing the piping, i discovered this while being impatient/lazy one night if u just undo all the bolts u can slide it out as long as you remove the mount on the rear of the cover. u might have to bend it a bit to avoid scratching it
  10. its the speedos, the speed cut as wrxhoon says is in the 180's the speedo is incorrect at those speeds. u can see how fast u really go by working it out on the rpm u are doing when u hit the cut.
  11. damn that is a good price... i think my AFM is reading high it maxxes out on 10psi (i have other mods though..) which in turn makes my car run really rich ie nearly 100% injector duty cycle but it might be because it is sucking in hot air at the moment. either way i am considering buying a new afm. do you know for sure if u have to retune power fc when changing from rb25 afm to Z32, or can u just select it on the menu and it will adjust for you?
  12. i seriously doubt u are hitting boost cut.. are u sure u were somewhere really dark as the sparks are only small they are not bright at all even if no sparks they might be stuffed just not that bad. only thing to do now is swap the coils with someone else who has no problem, this will make the answer to whether it is the coils for sure. .. so go and pull some out of a friends car
  13. no problem just make sure u know the exact amount by which is reads wrong otherwise there is no point because it will be wrong when recalibrated
  14. u can use coppers if you change them regularly (5-10000kms) or else platinums/iridiums which will last a bit longer coppers will cost about $18-25 a set, iridiums/platiunums will be about 90-120 a set (might not last long either if the car is running how it is now, so i would recommend coppers for now at least!)
  15. hey i have a series 2 so there is no ignitor module that function is built into the coil.. i understand what your saying, and im pretty sure that friend who have left the cover off used the original bolts to hold it down, have u tried? if not just try the worst that can happen is that you just wont be able to screw them in anymore and the module wont be secure..
  16. i find with most tyres that size the car skips around too much and is too edgy when over about 38psi thats where i keep mine.
  17. well due to the bad misfiring the plugs could be badly fouled, resulting in an unstable idle and making it hard to start. first of all if were your friend i would pull out the plugs and have a look.
  18. maybe but i doubt it, when the coils are stuffed it makes a noise like that as well, it is unburnt fuel ingiting on the way out, its high frequency popping, which is probably what he is explaining.
  19. yeah well that sounds like it could be what i explained as the misfire is worse with more load, so the higher the gear the earlier the misfire.
  20. Hey, how much was the bosch part if you dont mind saying? any cheaper than nissan?
  21. hey the wing is a gtr style wing air bag was an option until 1995, in 1995 drivers airbag became standard, and series 2 skylines (very late 1995-onwards) all have dual airbags standard all gts-ts have LSDs standard (i told u this in another thread!)
  22. it will most probably the coils or the spark plugs or a combination first buy some new plugs and gap them to 0.8 if that does not improve the situation try swapping the coils for known good ones.
  23. if i was u i would be stressed out about doing the test on the important date! if u fail thats it have to sell your new car thats not nice!
  24. the speedo is calibrated for output from the speedo sender that comes with a manual gearbox not an auto like yours. so nothing special, but i dont think you can make it work unless the manual sender fits in the place of the auto sender that u have (doubt it but dont know for sure)
