  1. hey i am quite sure rb20 and rb25 afms are the same size, so it will probably fit but best to make sure for yourself
  2. its not worth the trouble as the air passes through the pipes too quick for the heat of the pipe to have much effect on it. i would recommend black piping, do you really want it to stand out when you get pulled over?
  3. no i dont think so, if that was the case the car would overheat.
  4. use search for that one, it has been covered lots of times. and yes majority of imports are wound back u have the judge the car on condition not kms.
  5. yes it can u can do that but keep in mind r33 fuel pumps power limit is around 200rwkw(which your friends car would probably be close to)so if it is around that maybe its time to change it, they are not expensive anyway and a few people have had them fail causing the engine to lean out and die.
  6. a lot of people want around 800 -1200 depending on how new, i sold a pair that were a few years old hypermax-d (drift model) for 600 including postage to QLD they had some positives but generally they were way too hard and slow for for street use too much skipping around and easy loss of traction. if i were u i would stay away from jap coilovers u are probably better off keeping your lowered springs and fitting bilsteins.
  7. the speedo is way out at that sort of speed, when i hit the cutout if there was still markings on the speedo it would have shown about 200 so around 15km/h too much. (in r33 gtst)
  8. i cant answer that one for sure! but the arcing at idle is only a little bit anyway as in the car you can barely feel it its only a very slight miss, even when watching the motor as it does that you can only hear it miss a little bit. if you see a few doing it u know that u might as well replace them all, if u only see one doing it its probably worth swapping that one for a good coil from somewhere to see if that was the only problematic one. or u could go on swapping your coils for good coils once by one to see which ones are stuffed but by the method i told u u can see which ones are really stuffed straight away.
  9. good luck getting it back, inner city and area around leichhardt is very bad for car theft u gotta make sure its well protected so the thieves (unfortunately in your case) move onto an easier target. ill keep in eye out..
  10. its on the back of the intake manifold on a r33
  11. it can become red hot with the standard turbo, but usually only with a flogging of if it has a crap exhaust, if u left the heat sheild off maybe its just that u never saw it glowing before. but yes best to check a/f ratios as leaning out will make it hotter and brighter
  12. i tried taping all of them, then covering all of them in araldite, which did not make it much better once the car got hot... so finally gave up and bought a set of splitfires if the cover is off, you can definetly remove all the coils without touching the plumbing. (another reason to leave the cover off, laziness )
  13. i used to have a swift gti with an unshielded k&n pod filter and it used to make an induction noise like a turbo car but only above 7000rpm
  14. all of mine had burn marks, however only three were arcing. yes u have to leave the cover off so its easy to see. i know people who have left the cover off which has improved the missing problem. i think you will find that the hotter the car is the worse the problem is. also it will miss more depending on load ie very easily in 4th gear. anyway get the car hot then have a look and see how it goes.. make sure u go somewhere really dark so its easy to see the sparks. u can give it a good rev while watching to get it hot/under a bit of load that that may help, although i found just letting it idle was enough to see the arcing.
  15. i agree im sure a good flogging for 30kms is nothing compared to the hard caning it has had its whole life anyway
  16. that looks awesome, i mounted my amp the same way in my old car. i mounted the mdf piece just as you did, for lordsnipe, its only held up by a bolt passed through the mdf board and secured with the bracket that holds the stock false wall in place as you can see in the pictures. it sort of sits there so not much need for extra support.
  17. you might want to keep in mind that you need to trim the front bar as well in case you didnt know. also the top pipe above the radiator usually sits quite high, might take some adjusting so it clears the fan and does not rub against the bonnet too much. its ok if it just touches the underside of the bonnet just make sure it cant touch the fan (u can trim the fan blades but it is not needed)
  18. stockish gtst's are slow good luck chopping anyone ps i own a gtst.
  19. lol i had to restrain myself when replying to that ehehe
  20. this is how my car is, no snorkel due to fmic piping, so i too have bought a pod and when i fit it will box it as you did. so it did make a noticeable difference? small or big? i will be using an apexi pod as well so im interested since its the same situation.
  21. im pretty sure a jig saw would not be the tool to use.
  22. yeah if i drill a hole i will always have a spare part first, im just against drilling holes anywhere in my car personal preference i guess
  23. yes u need to make a hole for sure with the vspl kit
