  1. hey sorry about not posting a picture, i have not had the chance to borrow a digi cam, i will soon but i can assure u it looks just like the one in the picture anyway
  2. spotted a black s1 33 gtst driving west on parramatta road last night (sunday) at 9pm spotted a black s2 at the petrol station with the maccas and subway on parra road at 915pm spotted a black s1 33 gtst driving towards the city later that night at approx 315am then at about 330am saw a burgandy gtst with custom plates and fmic driving along cleveland then turning into pitt st surry hills.. so many black ones! lol.
  3. i am quite sure it will be your coilpacks on their way out. you might be able to patch up the problem by gapping the plugs to 0.8 (most come as 1.1) but this wont be the real fix, which is probably to buy a new set of coilpacks, or at least check to see which coilpacks are bad and replace them. if the coilpacks are dying, usually the car will miss when the weather is colder and/or running higher boost will make it worse, which is just as you described.
  4. yep the end of the race was good, although i was surprised to see webber on the podium at monaco of all places! a good effort, lots of risky tailgating by him though dont you think?
  5. the scrutineer dropped a big blob of it on the side of my car last time i went, didnt offer to wipe it either! but it did come off easy (i wiped it off within a day)
  6. i am looking forward to watching montoya, i think(hope!) he will be pissed after getting punished, so should be interesting driving from him!
  7. its probably a worn bearing which is the same for any clutch, as for brass buttons, they often also can be a bit noisy when engaging, you shouldnt slip them much but when u do they often squeek a bit (i have one) speaking in general, i would steer clear of a car as described unless your friend really knows about skylines and how to take care and fix things himself. most imports have their odos wound back so dont take the kms seriously either, just look at the condition of the car.
  8. mine is usually 81-84 as well as long as i am moving.. (even with thrashing ) if i am driving in heavy traffic, it is higher, more like 85-95. 95-100 is pushing it, i dont think it should be that high, more than 100 is risky.
  9. things are usually more enjoyable when free
  10. i have heard that noise many time, always a flat battery.
  11. i went in the uas yesterday saw the plenum, very well made excellent finish definetly not something you could throw together for cheap.
  12. no they plug straight and no tuning is required.
  13. yeah no worries ill send it anywhere and yes it has the adaptor fits straight on r33.. About the picture, i done have a digi cam, but i will get a picture of it for you soon, probably by tomorrow.
  14. fuel pump should be ok i am pretty sure that from what you describe it is the coils. the coil packs dont really max out, they just die after a while. when mine died, the problem was much worse when the car was hot and i was running higher boost, like what has happened to u.
  15. no dyno graphs, but i have owned 2 gtsts, one with a fmic(now) and one without(my old one) and test driven HEAPS (have made a few friends buy gtsts too and im always the test driver!) and every one with a fmic felt laggier. i think i should re-describe what i meant, instead of lag, a better description would be throttle response. roy, i dont have a huge fmic, i have a greddy smaller model one! (i think the vspl) with greddy piping so nothing out of the ordinary.
  16. lol ill remember them for next time
  17. yes it is still for sale, sitting next to me on the floor in fact
  18. the throttle response is definetly not the same, and boost builds slower for sure, no matter what the calculations say, try it out for yourself and you will feel it..
  19. well u can never have the exact same car again either if it is gone for good !
  20. hey, no not 500rpm, in terms of rpm there there is not too much difference, i.e say in first gear it will still hit full boost by 3 grand, the difference is in how boost builds.. with a stock cooler car once the turbo starts spooling full boost comes up very quickly, with a big cooler/piping the time between a bit of boost and full boost is longer, so basically is it more throttle response rather than a lot of lag. my car wouldnt be a perfect example to compare before and after though, as i have adj cam gears, bleed valve and pfc as well which all make the boost come on differently to a stock car.
  21. i have trouble believing there is absolutely no extra lag.. i have a greddy (smaller model) and there is quite noticable lag compared to stock.
  22. i used the data logging one a few weeks ago, seemed quite accurate, only did 0-100 though since we were on public roads. also the rev counter function is not quite correct, it sensed 7000rpm when we were really at around 6000rpm, so started flashing all its shift lights too early, but who cares about that function anyway... also tried an older one with the small red display (its in my glovebox atm) and even if calibrated correctly sometimes it comes up with whacky figures which are way off ie more than a second or two! maybe i should try them both at the same time..
  23. well there u go, stock cars glow better
  24. i would also personally never use oil that thin, especially for hard use you could spin a big end... stock pistons are fine for that power level, although nowdays forgies are not too much more if you shop around, so i would go for forgies.
  25. its not that hard to get it red hot, even on a stock car which is working perfectly well i have seen glowing turbos on a few stock cars.
