  4. with the v-spl kit including the piping you have to trim the front bar for the piping to fit, and its not perfect, the top pipe that goes across the engine sits a bit high(touches the bonnet) or else you have to trim the fan. (on a s2 r33) other than that it works and the finish is good. in relation to the gtr cooler, although paulr33 says the gtr cooler is good for around 250rwkw, i have seen a gtr with a lot more than than, ~320 using the standard cooler. whether or not it would be better to have larger cooler for that power i dont know, but it was not restricting the car to ~250rwkw thats for sure.

  6. I would like to sell my HKS hypermax coilovers(alloy tops) but need standard suspension to replace them. So swap my stock suspension + cash adjustment for my coilovers the coilovers work fine, but are too stiff for my liking, they can be adjusted for compression and rebound and come with extensions and knobs so you can adjust the rears from the parcel shelf. the car sits lower than standard but not by a lot. call 0402465128 anytime or pm/email to [email protected]
  7. I need four strut tops, or preferably complete shocks and springs with the tops in sydney area, as i dont have $$ for aftermarket suspension right now.   10. use a pfc, and get it tuned at bel performance. go to crd only if you want to spend big $$
  11. you have to put a few layers on or it will flake off very quickly best way to do it so the paint stays is to use a primer let it set then spray over with black. my cooler and piping has been sprayed black with many layers of paint, and by touching the pipes i cant tell any difference, the outlet before always stayed at ambient temperature and after painting it is always still at ambient temp.
  12. a 99 rex is a lot faster in a straight line than a r33, both being stock. the rex is faster both on the road and obviously can launch harder. if you think a rex has a shit top end, then so does a gtst they both die off at high revs(turbos too small) just as a sort of related example, a friend had a stock 01 rex(bug eyed shape, slower than 99) and he ran 14.0 @ 100mph, slipping the clutch on the start (not a redline dump) a stock gtst isnt anywhere near as quick. (and i have had 2 gtst's)
  13. thats what i thought, thanks for confirming, i will definetly consider one of these in the future, i never considered a jap ebc (or an e-boost) because of the $$ but $150 seems like good value to improve the boost control over the bleed valve i have. im not sure what u mean by simple bleed valve, i have a turbosmart dual setting boost controller with a switch in the car, which im quite sure is just two simple bleed valves inside a shiny pink box.
  14. for people with bleed valves, would you say using the jaycar ibc makes a big difference in the way the car will drive? ie. bigger than changing from an ebc to the jaycar ibc? also will the difference in boost control feel bigger in a non standard car ie my car with full exhuast, fmic, adj cam gear, powerfc etc? i used to have a standard gtst and now with my current one there is a lot more lag, (i guess because fmic and piping) so would do anything (cheap) to reduce the lag.

  16. its easy to heak soak the stock cooler and have the outlet the same as the inlet, happened many times when i had a stock cooler. i painted my cooler and all pipes black, and by my hand-thermometer confirmed that the cooler outlet was still the same as ambient, and the inlet was very hot same as before it was painted.
  17. its crazy for p platers... especially red p platers, who cannot exceed 3 demerit points, so if they have one of these low level speeding offences and a p plate falls off one day and they get caught for it, thats it, 3 months without a licence.
  18. as Bl4cK32 said, it is important to tighten them to factory specs, and make sure that they are all tightened to the same spec ie replace them all and do them all up to the same nm otherwise when the manifold heats up it it may warp and crack. it is a shit job.
  19. it will be a big blockage in the exhaust it wouldnt run too nicely, apart from the silence.. useful for epa inspections etc though.
  20. i think he has a gtr, which means that gtrs's would be laggy and produce lots more than 250 when they do come on boost. if it is for a gtr, try gtss's 2530's or N1s, already they wont have much low down power(less than 4 grand) but go any bigger ie gtrs's and you wont have much power low down at all. best bet for stockish low end would be hiflo the stock turbos and run more boost.
  21. calm down guys time for a group hug and make up either way bad news shif_tea and lucky i decided not to go into the city. the rocks is always a bad area of the city for getting defected, if there is anywhere in the city that a defect blitz would happen, the rocks would be top on the list of locations, so best to stay away on friday and saturday nights. im surprised they actually asked you to follow them since you were parked, bad luck eh.
  22. incorrect, the new engine was only in the r34, but variable valve timing was on the r33 rb25det as well and that engine is NOT reffered to as the new engine. its only on the inlet side on an rb25det in r33s. in relation to your question, the coil packs are different on series one and two skylines but the difference is not related to vvt or no vvt so dont worry.
  23. u will lose power if you put a plate in the exhaust but it will be quiet, dont do it! easiest thing to do would be to fit a good muffler, twin exit ones are generally good for keeping things quiet dont use a canon...
  24. i avoid the city on friday and saturday nights in the skyline because of the fear of defects! what time and where was it exactly?
