    Mad bird

thats mad!!!!!!!!! i want one too..!
  4. where are you located and how many ms response is it?
  5. hey you would have a factory imobiliser, r33s do come with them but i have only ever seen one with it, so guys who are saying there is no chip involved have probably never seen one with an imobiliser/factory central locking. i would say the best bet for you is to get the imobiliser bypassed and put in your own alarm, which means u can easily get spares cut and u can put in whatever imobilisers you want.
  6. you can get a helmet for less than 200 easy.. you can get a cheap full face for about 170 and an open face for $85 there is a motorcycle shop on i think liverpool st near central station that has a good selection
  7. you can only get a poverty spec mazda 6 for around 30k, the sports luxury version is ~46 on the road.
  8. makes sense to me, just get your turbos hi flowed then they will be safe for more boost if you want it. leave everything else.
  9. get a mazda, the interiors and seats are really nice as well and even the stereo volume goes up and down with speed
  10. i have personally seen a gtr on which this happened and it was no doubt the ceramic exh wheel from the rear turbo that ruined the engine, the bores were marked and even the oil pump was damaged. basically when the ceramic wheel let go it smashed against the housing and maybe something to do with the cams in the gtr allowed bits to get sucked back in through a valve opening. i did not believe it at first either but it was definetly the case, do a search and you will find a few threads about it, some people believe it some people dont. on gtsts it never happens as far as i have seen
  11. definetly do not put the old turbos on, as i know of gtrs that have had damaged motors due to the ceramic exhaust wheel delaminating and shattering making a big mess! if you dont want to spend big $$ on those gtss's, just get your stock turbos hi flowed(steel wheels) and they will be fine for a long time. close to 10 hrs labour is usually charged to remove+refit turbos on a gtr
  12. also some more advice: if you take it to court, when you are charged they cancel your license, so if you had 6 months to go on your green ps when charged, you would have 2 years left when you get your licence back. however, if you just pay the fine without taking it to court, your licence is suspended, so you only have the amount of time on your Ps left that you did before the suspension. you wont get off because of that technicality thats nothing.
  13. ben, the main gain is from the pipe, although mufflers definetly make a difference ie stock muffler compared to a straight through muffler. noise is mainly to do with the muffler, not the pipe, so if you fit the stock pipe and a straight through muffler it will be defeating the purpose of making it quiet. unless you want to lose lots of power, leave it how it is (catback) and if you are really set on making it quiet, if it has a canon definetly change it to a normal straight through muffler.
  14. with a good dump spooling will be quicker yes but for outright power increase a cat back will do a lot more than a dump if you have a standard catback/muffler
  15. hey, the whole std cat back is restrictive ie bends, size, and muffler. standard gtr muffler is similar, and is also quite restrictive, it is a twin exit muffler like on the gtst...dont bother. the dump is not the most important part, thats probably the least important... biggest difference will be made with a good catback and muffler, (which you have already) so keep that and fit a good dump/front pipe and u will gain power.
  16. my sister was looking at sort of similar cars i had a good look at all of them and the sp23 is the best in my opinion, she has had it now for about 5 months and it has been perfect, also the customer service and service costs are very good.
  17. the stock cat/muffler back is quite restrictive and you will lose lots of power. dotn bother putting a large dump/front pipe if you are going to remove the cat back. just change the muffler on your cat back to one that is quieter, i have a turbo back 3' exhaust and you can barely hear it from inside, it has a normal straight through muffler(not a canon) and a resonator
  18. mate trust me im not scared to drive the thing hard :P
  19. sorry to hear it, i park in shopping centres approx once every 6 months only for this reason, and you have convinced me further to stay away from them, you can never be safe with mums driving landcruisers everywhere.
  20. which shopping centre?
  21. Hey, im not saying you are wrong, it IS safer to have bigger injectors. My point is that i know a gtr owner who runs standard injectors, n1s @20psi and has run an 11.7@121mph 1/4 mile, and i didnt state it before, but the injectors were running at maximum 90% duty cycle. seeing this is enough evidence for me to not change the injectors unless running more than 20psi.. but then again, since there is a few different types of N1 turbos, for your car @20psi, bigger injectors may be needed in your case. and yeah i have read about that particular performance shop and dont agree with what they do either.
  22. wrxhoons car is running standard injectors, with r33 n1 turbos running 1.3bar(20psi) they are nearly on their limit but still fine, to prove the power he has run (as mentioned above) 11.7@121mph, so imo there is no way your would need 700cc injectors, 550s would be fine, but not that necessary to make good power.
