  1. Mik, at that rate you might get into a bit of trouble with the law, just getting on full boost
  2. N1 turbos from an r33 are not ball bearing.
  3. people need the facts and risks demonstrated to them and, the laws need to be realistic!!!! they are definetly NOT at them moment which is why no one respects them! ie. Speeding.
  4. sounds good and fair to me should be in all states but there is no way it will happen, it would be way to inconvenient for the government, as are all the other logical paths to actually reducing the road toll.
  5. lol too much ebay
  6. yeah.. ill probably give them a call soon because i want a price on a car for myself, i will get my license back in 5 weeks so need a replacement car (sold my old skyline) do you know any other good importers you have had good experiences with in sydney that i could call around?
  7. go nuts, i know what u mean about mixed reviews! they cant be good for every customer, but i usually give leeway to shops who dont try rip you off even if they are a bit dodgy according to some people .. ie rather that rip off import yards that that have good service.. yes it was a 95gtr vspec silver colour stock(obviously as just complied), we had a good look over the car for a couple of hours, there was three of us... i was standing around the garage by myself while they took it for a test drive... im pretty sure i saw your car there getting a service or something... a funny silver/blueish colour gtr (like in the pics u posted)there cant be many around other than yours... it had a VERY hard biting clutch(i saw them moving it) was it yours?
  8. no worries i have not bought a car from them, although since i will driving again in 4 weeks, i might soon I know of one person who a while back imported a r33 series 2 off them, and as they said, it was perfect, one of the best examples you could find.. they recently sold it and bought a r34GTT from them, and again it was apparently in very good nick (ie they got for him what they said they would) i was helping a close friend of mine find an r33 gtr, we looked for about 5 months and even went to melbourne for one (to find out the owner was a lying idiot) and in the end we went to see one at jappsport, where we met zoran and simon.. we went there a few times and in the end my friend bought a gtr they had there... what i found with them was they admitted to cars faults didnt bullshit and try and cover everything up, they setup the car on a hoist for us to check it out and discussed everything honestly... that went for other cars they had there as well.. also my friend had a slight problem with the gtr(AFM was stuffed) and that got sorted out without much trouble.. do you know them?
  9. yes thats true, most people looking to buy ANY import do not have budgets of more than 20 grand.. and the gtr is double that! plus the risks with very high(relatively) costs if it blows up import yards usually dont have more than 1 or two... and you see them sitting there for aaggess. also lots of young people that can get away with buying this type of car can scrape up 20 grand (like me) (less than for a new corolla anyway!) to buy a gtst... but not 35 grand..
  10. ive only had good views about jappsport.. the guys there lie less than any other car dealer ive ever been to! rare especially when ur talking about imports...
  11. i guess about 30 if you were lucky, im surprised they mentioned 33 grand... i think thats pretty good money from a dealer... if you were getting rushed to get rid of it that would be the best bet rather than waiting for a private buyer to show up who has anywhere near 33 grand to actually buy a car with lol. just wait till you really need to sell it i guess.
  12. third party would be about the same wouldnt it?? for an r33gts-t third party was 660 bucks for me when i first got it, i was 18. so an r32 cant be more than that!
  13. Mercedes has a turbo soulution for you.. how about a current SL65 AMG, its a 6 litre twin turbo v12, with 1000nm of torque, and i forget (about450?) kw... auto only, but im sure its quick enough, and turbo get the gs300! not bad eh..
  14. u can get that black tar stuff that the underbody is covered with from new to cover the rust up with.. that way it will sort of blend in with the rest of it.. ive seen compliance places doing it as lots of imports have a bit of corrosion underneath (snow in japan doesnt help)
  15. LOL its a 10 year old car, most of them have had most of the body smashed/scratched/resprayed by now theres no way you would find one with all perfect original bodywork. if you dont mind post or pm me what the dealers are offering, (just out of interest) there is quite a few Rs for sale now, too bad i cant get one now...or for a long while!
  16. time wasters
  17. yeah i have seen the guide ur talking about..too bad its not that easy.. cams would have to come out, but i dont think it would be a bad job. i have replaced the cams in rb25.. not really a difficult job i guess just fidly. u just have to have a torque wrench to make sure u attach them back properly and evenly (the cams can crack in half, my exhaust one did!) when i started the car afterwars one lifter was SO NOISY like crazy!!! i was scared it would be like that forever!!! it was bloody loud. after a good run it quietened down but then again when we put them back in the head was sitting on the ground, not on the bottom end so it made things easy.
  18. my gts-t used to do it as well, always in reverse! have no idea why though!
  19. hey, there is one for sale right now, look on carsales.com.au and its on a forum but i cant remember which one. buy it!
  20. meshmesh THATS YOU? i have always wondered who the intruder in the e55 is on trackdays(not ones i have been to but that e55 is always in the pictures!) i always think, who is that hoon and wat the hell are they doing in an e55 lol. no i know..
  21. it also looks like one of those mercs that suffer from massive depreciation (relatively faster than the other expensive models anyway) just get an r34, go to japan and pick one
  22. sorry to say, it is an old mans car out of the merc range, i would take an SL65/55 AMG anyday. that has to be on the best looking big convertibles ever, a beast! AND faster than a 911 turbo convertible (might come in handy) although, if i were after something with room/boot, i would choose an E55 AMG. if only they offered manuals eh
  23. Hey, 15/40 sounds normal, and you should use an oil of similar rating 10/40 or whatever, i have found that if it is bad, use cheap oil(magnatec or whatever) for about 500-100kms and then change it for oil you would normally use(synthetic of similar weight) which sort of flushes the system. so i dont think it is the brand of oil, its just that u have one or more sticky lifters. open the bonnet and you can probably hear which ones are bad..
  24. lol anyway i doubt it would be the lifters, as they are usually noisy when the motor is cold, and the noise would happen all the time and especially if you leave it without driving for a few days, and the noise would increase in frequency with revs. what u have explained does not sound like lifters.. try and different oil, i cant think of what it would be... btw. i wouldnt use those oil additives/flushes if i were you, they might cause more problems than they solve, ie. they gunk can get cleaned of then all get stuck in chunks somewhere else in the engine. best to just change the oil a few times with cheap oil.
