hey is talking about the surrounds inside the headlight, series one are black and the surrounds on series 2 gtrs are definetly chrome (or shiny stuff that the reflectors are made of) have a look at two side by side and you will see, but it isnt something you would notice from a distance or a quick glance

defensive driver course for all learners, hammer the facts and make sure that the real risks are identified and illustrated.. i went to one a while back with a group of other people my age (p platers)most of them had ordinary sedans/hatches and were not hoons, and afterwards they had a lot better idea of what happens when u lose control by trying it in the controlled environment they gave us.. better than trying it on the road when it happens!

hey, i wont explain your issues, but with the CAS it probably wont budge because your not pushing hard enough... try and use a piece of timber against the cas, and lightly tap the other end with a hammer to try and budge it, it will most probably move if u do this.

Ah ok its a gtr.. sorry to sound negative but speaking generally it is really difficult to sell them, even quick, unless you ask ridiculously low amounts or something...different colour from stock wouldnt help either so if you are in a but of a rush it may be a problem. if the car is in good condition (most people wont look too far mechanically, because they dont know what to look for! so mostly interior/exterior) it will help to sell so maybe get it detailed, and definetly advertise in trading post as you usually only get lookers (not buyers) from forums.. just time wasters! also it will sell easier if stock, so if you can put it back to stock and sell the aftermarket bits. btw. where did you buy your car from, because i have seen a car that looked the same colour as yours (and with a heavy duty clutch) getting a service at an importer a few months ago..?

a jun car like that one (not sure if its exactly the same but looks it..) was for sale a few years ago for agess, i dont know if anyone bought it. it was in the UK i think. i saw advertisements in CAR UK magazine and even on a jeremy clarkson video for it.

hey, if you are going to sell it to a dealer, you wont get a 'decent' price from anyone, depending on what you mean by decent.. try and sell by consignment(dealer sells for you and they get a cut, so you could leave it there at the lot) or else just sell it privately cheap if you are in a rush, someone will buy it if its a decent car for a cheap price. what are the specs of your car?

they are still legal height! or else they get around it somehow ie. the last of the diablos had adjustable height front suspension for driveways etc. 4wd style lol.

martydaman... i dont think the jag is for sale, it just an advertisement thing. it wouldnt be legal, and it would cost too much..... i have seen ads with the chrome jag in magazines more than 6 years ago(national geographic magazine).. so its a long term advertisement thing. making the body out of aluminium will not magically make the car half the weight... i would say manufacturers only make parts of the body out of the stuff if the car is getting excessively heavy. a few cars that i know of that have aluminium(some only parts of the car) panels that are still TANKS: (or not light compared to other cars similar size/class) audi a8 (1750kg) audi a2 audi 80 (1460kg) honda nsx (1390 not) skyline GTR (1560) bmw 6 series (even has plastic bootlid, ugly one too!) (1815!!!!) i saw a 645 the other day with 21' bmw rims lots of dish and lowered.. 295 rear section tyres, looked good from front and side...dog ugly from the rear though. rims/tyres must have been like 30kg each!

i feel your fear! i used to spray all under the car every week.. i have refused to get in the car many times... once i was stuck IN the car because the spider was sitting on the window.. i called my girlfriend out and made her spray it, but she srpayed so much that it left a crust of baygon all over the door so i had to go to a 24hour car wash because it was like 4 in the morning!.. also once in my old car i was driving on a country road about 80km/h and a huge huntsman crawled in MY window!!! i shat myself, quickly jumped out after stopping on some grass, my girlfriend jumped out and her little brother in the back got stuck in while it ran over his head on the roof lol. i refused to drive for about 30 minutes... then all the way home i wouldnt open the windows or put it on fresh (no air con, black car and it was 38 degrees outside).

nah.. to summarise what happened.. he took it for a pink slip inspection, when he went to pick it up it was blowing heaps of smoke.. he took it home and pulled the motor down himself straight away to see what was wrong, got new turbos and rebuilt it himself. have a look at the pics of the pistons, pretty obvious they are stuffed also i saw first hand that it was the ceramic turbo peices that were the only thing that seemed to contribute to the engine being stuffed.

jerry, i think he was asking about who built the engine, (ie maybe they stuck it together bad so it would blow uP) joel, in answer to that he has stated that he built it himself, and only outsourced the machining work, which he checked when he got it back anyway. so it wasnt put together wrong if thats what u meant..

do a search forget about the mechnical differences(not worth worrying about) the main differences are the exterior looks, different interior, and standard dual air bags. thats it. most cars especially skylines etc would have been in an accicent since the ones u are looking at are around 8-9 years old, so dont worry about the accicent damage unless its really visible. check for rust.. lots of cars in japan are from snowy areas so quite a bit of rust underneath etc.. not a big worry but best to know about it..

Duncan, good point, i guess you could look at it that way!! rta was my messenger eh lol. 70 over is not cool, only because even though it might be safe (ie. m4/2/5) at 3am or something!) we all need to abide by the RTAs stupid speeding laws to avoid voluntary taxes! voluntary taxes are not cool. anyway i didnt even get caught in my skyline! i was in my other car, suzuki swift! so i guess i gave swift owners a bad name. what a hoon car eh.

i got caught for 66 over the speed limit.. it is pretty easy to find out what will happen to u u should have just looked at rta website instead of reading most of this speculation! anyway its six months, and if you exceed your demerit point limit, another three months if you are on your P's, and less if you are on your full license depending on how many points over you are. i took it to court got it reduced to 250 bucks, although the legal costs made the final cost the same. got the same suspension, ie. 6 months. i renewed my licence a month ago, drove 600ks in one weekend, and then the next (3 month) period started. so yeah 2 more months for me, join the club and dont stress too much, a lot worse can happen in life than the rta screwing you up!

just change the water pump, dont change the rest unless it needs changing, i.e the hose and thermostat. does your 700 quote include labour? btw. an n1 water pump is only $150 from nissan. an aftermarket normal pump is around 70 from any spares shop.

all u have to do is get an 3.5m --> 2rca adaptor, stick one end into the ipod and the other into your amp/head unit input. just remember the ipods amp(for the headphone socket) is a peice of crap and u wouldnt want to use that output. u have to get a cable that connects to the bottom of the ipod with a female 3.5m plug on the other end. this non-amplified output is much cleaner than the headphone output. although it still is not good.

i lost mine for a long while i had the car for a month and a bit when i had no license and i was never tempted! the punishment was already bad enough, and i couldnt imagine getting done again, the only driving i have done is from the front of my house into the garage. or in small emergencies with my girlfriends car. i sold the skyline anyway!

are u sure you have had the speed limiter removed ?? when the limiter cuts in, the car will indicate well past 180... at about 5 grand is actually 180 in a r33 gts-t so i would say it is the speed limiter. i hope you are testing this on a private road

how many psi are you running to achieve 300rwkw? as a guide i have seen two locally delivered r32gtrs for sale this year, both were basically stock, one guy wanted 38000 i cant remember how much the other one was. i think at least one of them was on carsales so if you do a search on there is think you may be able to find it as a sold car or whatever the type of search is. i sort of doubt you would get more than 40 grand (if you are lucky) due to there being so many cheap(an usually crap anyway) imports being sold now. also for that money i think a majority of people would buy an r33. but you never know
