  1. it will always be easier to sell a standard car, also if you put it back to standard when you sell the parts you have taken off you will be no doubt better off financially. although yours has very light mods, so it should be alright... how much would you ask for it?
  2. insurance (just cars) is more for an s15 than for an r33gtr(insured for 40 grand) for the same driver... they said that heaps more people crash their s15s compared to gtrs=why insurance is more... i was surprised at that!
  3. the exhaust manifolds are often cracked, u will probably find broken studs.. find out the correct torque settings for the exhaust manifold studs and make sure u dont over/under tighten them, and that they are all the same. also in case ur not sure u gotta torque the head down in stages, and in sequence.. i think if u do a search specifics will come up, cameron looks like he can help with the specifics anyway!
  4. as blitz said i wouldnt rec. a nrma inspection, a mechanic friend would in most cases check it over better than nrma, who dont even do a compression test and still charge 220! the only good thing is that whatever they do say is ok they give a warranty on so say if a ball joint is stuffed and they said it was ok, they will pay for it within i think 3 months. defintely get at least a compression test done by someone if u cant do it yourself... its a bit time consuming on the gtst so unless u are really sure about what to do just get someone to do it.. should take an hour. take a good look under the car too.
  5. get the vin nuimber checked... nissan at hornsby will look it up for you... this will show if it is the car that left the factory with the vin that is on it now, colour etc.. also get someone who knows these cars to check it out for you, lots of things can be wrong with them!
  6. also you can ring nissan in hornsby, i know they will look it up for you.
  7. buy drift bible dvd, as shonen suggested
  8. in the close up of the wheel, the wheel is different from the other pics. either way.. scammer.
  9. what else could it be if there is instant smoke after the turbo blows, and then u find bits of ceramic turbo wheel in your sump/oil filter? also remember its not large chunks, its tiny pieces like sand that get stuck in.. the large chunks would be blown out....
  10. I think there is a few different types of N1's.... but i wouldnt bank on good respnse down low... you would need at least 500 revs more than the standard ones (everything else remaining the same) too boost up... just high flow the stock ones if you wouldnt like to keep good low rev response.. Bit obviously when running higher boost at good revs a car with the N1's will chop a standard turbo'ed car
  11. it is not uncommon for the turbo's to go, even on stock boost if it is an older car, such as an r32 gtr if they are the original turbos.. when you get your car, check that is still has the boost restrictor in (do a search if you dont know what that is) Because, even if there is no boost controller, without the restrictor it will be running ~1bar, and if you add and exhaust around 1.1bar.. at that boost, especially if they are older turbos there is a reasonable risk that they will let go.. just get them hiflowed...(wheels are replaced for steel ones etc..) its a lot harder and more $$ to replace the turbos on a gtr than a gts-t though.. so dont expect it to be simple like on a gts-t..
  12. lol, jimx is usually an open minded guy, im sure he sees how it could happen or will one day see it happen I remember how surprised i was when i found out as well!! i couldnt believe it! but once u get it its easy to understand why it would happen.
  13. I saw wrxhoons engine being rebuilt after the turbo blew, and i saw the blown turbo... it didnt make sense to me at first either, but it is definetly the case
  14. drunk driver crashed into the side(sort of side on) of my car doing approx 120km/h i was doing 80 he bounced off me and crashed straight into the concrete barrier, the drivers side of my car was crushed.. and this was in my old swft gti! i was ok, he was arrested for blowing 0.18. the the car he was driving and wrote off was not even his to make things worse for him. also no insurance as he was pissed so he had to pay for my car out of pocket.
  15. sw20gt no offence, but generally for a (proper) wheel alignment, especially if something is obviously wrong u should go to a specialist, bob jane and other tyre/mechanic shops are usually crap and dont do anything worthwhile! So with this in mind, if i were you i would go to http://www.heasmans.com.au/ excellent service, they specialise in steering etc... usually lots of expensive sports cars getting done there too.
  16. they will definetly mail it to u if you drive away while they are writing it, it happened to me a maquarie uni about 2 years ago. also my dad got a fine in the mail for stopping in a no stopping zone at haymarket, he was in the car, and he saw the woman writing it out from across the road!! so if they are writing it out and u are not successful in talking them out of it... just take it with u..
  17. id take a stock m3 over that. from the front it is nice, but the rear is too wide. also would have chosen a slightly darker colour.
  18. agree on the training. they are stupid not to train young drivers (like me) i think that educating to start with would be a lot more effective than punishing once you do something wrong! i doubt most parents would even agree with this law, they would rather their children driving home than getting raped/bashed/passed out on the train on the way home or picking them up at 4am! i know my parents would prefer me driving! hmm i wonder what the fines will be like.....
  19. The government is stupid and this law makes me mad. In the US there is similar laws in some states and apparently people just ignore it and take their plates off. stupid rta and government.
  20. were u on george st sat night? im pretty sure i saw u or sometime on the weekend! either way good luck with the sale!
  21. Bleach1, yours was the clean looking white one right? Sorry to hear u had bad luck selling it, i remember your thread! i sold mine for 22 grand with 121,000kms on the clock guess u just have to wait for the right buyer and have decent luck! heaps of dealers bullshit SO much especially import dealers! And i would say usually get away with it due to heaps of new buyers not knowing anything.
  22. 340rwkw on c&v dyno, t67 on 1.3 bar stock internals, apart from some head work and bolt ons. it was someone off this forum, but they might not want to be known
  23. I drove my parents cressida and my sisters (crap) corona for a few months, in which time i practiced my drifting technique(although it was auto!) it was sort of scary and uncontrollable when sideways in the rain, but i never crashed it. after that i had a swift gti for 2 years... in the first year alone it got crashed INTO by other stupid people at least 5 times (most small accidents) and one major one.. was on the free way at artarmon, drunk driver crashed into the barrier doing around 120 and bounced into the drivers side of my car, he was taken away with the police as his blood alcohol was .18!!! ... i drove the skyline for one year as my second car 18-19 years old and never had a problem.. apart from some idiot keying it, and me scraping the bumper bar on one of those concrete things in a carpark.
  24. mrblonde, i saw u last week run it sounded crazy! what mods have u done to it? and wat are u doing on on this forum of all places... are u part of dtm? wreckhead thats fast on 20 inch chromies! lol did the pass with show and go eh.. happy birthday!
