Big Rattle In My Rb26 Cylinder Head
GTAAAH replied to drifter 33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Edit: nvm hijackage -
that falcon was going off haha, i reckon it was one of the best drivers on the course, guy wasn't exactly worried about stacking the car either.. there was a vn and a eb(?) out there as well, driving around in a group, all doing pretty well.. the falcon had some suspension work tho i rkn.. The judges were judging crappily imo ..one of the guys who got into the final's was a complete knacker and could hardly keep the back out lol

mm downloaded it and on 800X600 with most graphics options at low it runs terrible at around 10 frames per second.. Bit crap how u can't go through the streets or free roam any, not a fan of track games, the best NFS game is still high pursuit imo.. Also very crappy controls, impossible to play with keyboard and after like 15 minutes configuring my control it still felt retarded and turned too sharp
-
oh doood not cool
-
ah ok, 2.5k is still too much for me for 2nd hand 37's, especially since the car won't benefit from having lighter wheels on thw street >< I'll probably go the koya race tek's then, i can get them for less than a 3rd of the price of 2nd hand 37's.. sucks though, 37's are sweet

My Drift Pig/train Station Car :)
GTAAAH replied to Dean_HR31's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeh i've seen a few ppl doing VN's up for drift, was a guy who wanted 4k for a matt black one with worked engine, heaps of suspension mods and racing seats on bc a while ago, was a VN ss at drift fest as well doing pretty well.. no body roll though so i'd say a bit of suspension work.. i was gonna use my VN for a hack/ mess about drift car, till it got stolen and i ended up with a corolla ;< -
Yo so i can get pretty decent deals on rims that my companies stores deal with but none of them really have anything decent.. most of them are crap quality rim companies and the decent ones like koya only really have 1 rim i'd want and not in the right size. All the nice rims are like $3k + which sucks because i don't want race rims but i do want the sweet assed look so anyone know anywhere i can get some FAKE black te37's in a 19X9ish size? cheers

Help:- Brake Fade Problem
GTAAAH replied to sky30's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
oh true, i might just do that then.. I think my dad will be able to diagnose it if it is the master or booster, the tech hasn't changed thaaat much in the last 20 years i hope.. -
How Important Is A Tune After Front Mount Install?
GTAAAH replied to Munkyb0y's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you ask me, just look at ur FMIC as a supporting mod and it'll all seem worthwhile. I lost a lil throttle response with mine, but at least you don't have to worry about the intercooler hampering performance for future mods. The 2 reasons i wanted mine were 1) for when i upgrade the turbo and 2) because fmic's look pimp -
Help:- Brake Fade Problem
GTAAAH replied to sky30's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
This sort of saves me making another thread, so i'll semi- hijack yours I have a gtr with standard rotors, (well standard spec, not slotted or anything tho) and some high performance pad (i saw them in a catalogue and they're quite exxy green ones) Anyways after doing a few spur run's i locked up the brakes a lil coming into a corner and had the abs light come on, it braked fine but about 10 minutes later when i stopped at some lights i could push my pedal all the way to the floor, and pumping didn't really work. By the time i had gotten home the problem had almost gone and now when i drive it it brakes fine but it doesn't seem as responsive. More effort is needed to brake (it still brakes easily enough) and my corolla and val both brake alot easier than the gtr. I can't really remember how it was before you but considering the size of the brakes i'm guessing they're normally alot more responsive. It has plenty of fluid and i only bled the brakes about 1500 km's ago, i'm thinking maybe the diaphragm is gone but i'm not sure, maybe gtr's have a bit of take up b4 they break standard. Also 1 other thing, idk if it's bad but it never happened in my old car, my brakes smoke a fair bit after a hard-ish run, they don't smell oddly enough at all but they smoke a fair bit Ne ways, no idea about the 2nd bit but does the 1st problem sound like master cylinder is shot? -
hmm so should i wait until i have a oil change due or am i safer changing it to 300v now (have about 5000 on the 2100)? headed away next week and will probably clock up close to 1000 k's
-
I recently replaced my r32 gtr afm's with r 33 gtr afm's and since then it has been messing up at low rev's as well, same business, unless i give it to it (which i won't because it's cold) it feels damn slow and damn laggy. Once it heats up it's all fine though I regapped my plugs from 1.0 to .8 at the same time i put the new afm in, im gonna try re-gap my plugs to 1.0 again tonight and see if it makes a diff
-
motul 300v? oO i was using motul 2100 in my gts-t(everyone recommended it for rb20's) and am using it in my gtr atm, will the 300v stuff be a safer alternative?
-
I think someone has to define: Rebuild.. Many of the rb26 parts won't need replacing if you only wana run a few hundred kw's and if you just want it rebuilt so you can drive it same story... but a rebuild for 10k i'd be expecting to see performance improvements over stock and a 15k one i'd want to see 500kw reliably
-
The airbox's flow pretty well, i doubt you'd see any restriction with your level of mods, you'd get less heat soak too than with pods which is always good... but no cool noises.
-
Cost me $120 to get it pro flushed, but my block still had some of the water in it so i flushed that myself with a hose.. you'll need to remove the thermostat or heat the car up to flush the block tho
-
Like he said heaps of people use coke cans, the aluminiums strong enough easily and is thin enough to cut to shape (use the old gasket) You could block off the recirc hose as well, that'd work but the can method is better I was tempted to do it to my gtr, but the bov's are a pain in the arse to get at so meh, i get flutters down low and if i keep the rev's right i can non-stop flutter.. i think it's to do with the setup sounds weird tho

Installing A Turbotech Boost Controller
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It's easy enough on a GTS-T but the whole GTR thing confuses me, i don't want to run it off a hose and only have control for 1 turbo, am trying to find a hose after the cooler to put it into That link is useful for gts-t, but i'm too dumb to understand what you've ssaid without pics mike hehe I think i confused people by bringing up a post about a gts-t and asking for help with my gtr lol I've had a few workshops tell me it comes from near the inlet manifold so cops probably won't discover it Pic enclosed now, would this be it? -
Yeh, that's probably the case, my gts-t with standard suspension used to hang on better cheers

Installing A Turbotech Boost Controller
GTAAAH replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yo just throught i'd bump this old topic instead of making a new one, my turbotech controller that i'll be putting on the gtr just rocked up and i popped the bonnet and looked around confused... Where do i T- Piece it? I am assuming it would be off something on the left side of the engine heading into the inlet manifold correct? Anyway tried to search for an rb26 tap install but couldnt find 1 Just want to run 12 psi and hopefully get a bit more torque -
yo.. i was just wondering if these are actually aftermarket? or standard GTR fitment. I'm considering upgrading soon-ish but if these are aftermarket they're probably decent and just need adjusting.. the gtr doesn't handles as well as i'd like it to
-
ouch, looks like u got some sweeping ahead of you... now you've made me paranoid though, i left the garage door open and it's at the bottom of our driveway :S *pictures valiant floating around upside down*

+ 1 for disagree, i used to get heaps of canaries when i was on my P's, come november i upgraded from gts-t to gtr and haven't seen a cop yet.. used to suck on P's though, some were such mongrels, pulling off my kick panels to have a look at my ecu, pulling my centre console area apart to "look for a electronic boost controller" ._. I'm in N.E burbs, but most of the times i got pulled over was near the city (on the way to work) or in eltham
