  1. The CAS will only go on one way. It interlocks with the half-moon key in the end of the exhaust cam (it's just visible in your photo).
  2. Check the SWITCH part of the TPS. It may not be sending the "throttle closed' signal to tbe ECU. It's all been covered before.
  3. Obviously I'm far too subtle for all of you, so Happy Birthday to me for yesterday
  4. Only if the half-moon key is missing froom the end of the exhaust cam. If the key is missing, and you fit the CAS even 1 tooth out, the engine will not start (been there, done that). The safest way to get the correct reading is to insert a plug lead between the coil and the plug, then connect the inductive pickup onto the plug leag.
  5. Ah, so subtlety doesn't work. You have to poke them, and poke them hard, in the ribs!
  6. Basically, all you need is an engine, the ECU and the engine loom. The R32 gearbox appears to be strong enough to handle a RB25DET. I've been pushing 180awkW out of mine, and the gearbox is still fine (granted, mine is GTS4). Then you don't need to worry about speedos and diffs and driveshafts and gearbox mounts and ... You need to use the R32 A/C compressor and P/S pump.
  7. It's not a bad date. And people like Sigmund Freud, Orson Welles, Rubin Carter and George Clooney would probably agree. And Roger Banister would think it pretty good too. The makers of the Hindenberg might not look so favourably upon it, though.
  8. As the engine rotates, the first mark on the pulley to align with the marker on the timing case is 30BTDC, the last mark is TDC. The marks are 5 apart. So, yes, you seem to have 5BTDC. What happens when you move the CAS the opposite direction?
  9. The builders are claiming it's another company, who are building on the corner block which is on the other side of my block. Problem is, there's absolutely nothing happening there, so I'm seriously doubting their claim. dezz, thanks mate, PM sent.
  10. A guy at work suggested I find out the name of the owner and get him to pressure the builder.I contacted council - they can't tell me because of the f****g Privacy Legislation
  11. Don't worry about his mates. What's going to happen when Daddy finds out? (He apparently didn't have pemission). Looks like no pocket money for a few weeks.
  12. Catching them in the act is all very well and good. It's just that I currently live 50k from the block (Glen Waverley), and I have to work during the day. So I'm only able to catch the aftermath of their actions. If anyone can check on the block during the day, it would be most appreciated (PM me for location).
  13. There's already temp fencing around their construction, but all they do is peel one section back - bingo, instant gateway. I've spoken to reps of my builder, and they are going to look into getting fencing up early. Not that I think it's going to stop them. Visited again today, and noticed that the meter in their block has the valve on the "mains" side of the meter - the valve on mine appears to be on the "property" side. If that's the case, then they have done some serious damage, virtually turning the piping thru 180. I've sent the building company's top honcho a letter, with photos. See what happens. Otherwise, I'm guessing file a claim in VCAT. The last thing I need is any form of damage to their construction (much as I would like to) - I need to be "squeaky clean" in that respect, so they have no comeback on me.
  14. I recently purchased land in Tarneit, and am currently awaiting the construction of my new home to commence. I've been having some trouble with the builders next door (fortunately, not the firm building my home). Before Easter, while excavating for the concrete slab, they simply piled the soil on my land (they did remove it after I complained). Now, the other night, I go down there, and some a$$hole has near destroyed the water connection. It's quite evident from all the tyre tracks on my land that they've been using my land as a loading dock, and running bob-cats and other vehicles from my land into the backyard area of their construction. So, I'm pretty confident that something to do with the construction next door has played a significant roll in the damage to the water connection. The building firm claims that without witnesses, it's "rigid cheddar". I'm trying to be nice about it, and dealing with the company directly. But if I don't get satisfaction, do I have recourse to a legal solution? Should I go through HIA (I'm not even sure this builder is a member)? A workmate suggested finding the name of the owner from the local council (Wyndham), and complaining to him - worth it? I'm just really pi$$ed off at the attitude of these people.
  15. Isn't the clear lamp the reversing indicator lamp?
  16. When I needed to replace the bushes in mine, I replaced the rods with GT-R items. If you can find replacement bushes for them (they are a narrower housing than GT-R / GTS-t rods), you are welcome to my old ones.
  17. If you blew a head gasket, did you check that the head was still flat? Have you checked compression? What ECU are you running? There are 2 parts to the TPS - Switch and Sensor. Adjust the Switch to control idle (tells the ECU throttle has closed). Big lift cams probably wouldn't be helping matters at all.
  18. What news on the Bluegum front?
  19. He has to be. The reservoir is for ATTESSA, not HICAS or P/S.
  20. Maybe it has R32 GT-R rotors - that would be an upgrade.
  21. If the engine is from a Stagea, then it should have a AWD sump, with the diff hanging off the side. Pretty sure all Stagea RB25 are S2. If you have a RB20 ECU running a S2, how does it control the VVT? The simplest method to use the other engine is to transfer all the electrical items (AFM, coils, etc) from your dead engine onto the replacement engine.
  22. Paul, Have a loook at www.talent2.com . That's my employer. They say they don't have any opportunities internally right now, but they are also a placement firm, so check out what they have. Greg
  23. Wheel out of balance. Dead shocker. Dead wheel bearing.
