  1. I got ACL pistons, and they had the info stamped on the piston crown.
  2. Sorry, won't be there this month. I'll be busy terrorising Territorians (Kakadu and Uluru)
  3. Leek?
  4. Firstly, they're not all that new. The law has been around for quite a few years, under the guise of the "power-to-weight" rule. Secondly, if you did some research on the Vicroads website, you would have known this. Thirdly, there are any number of threads in this forum on this very subject.
  5. Thanks James, but already having it "re-zipped" at my local Chinese sweatshop tailor. (although no need to tell Bluegum that)
  6. Handling problems are usually related to suspension. Check the suspension by giving it the "bounce" test. Try swapping components from L->R, R->L, see if the problem moves.
  7. Have you checked the dimmer control?
  8. Does that work in Linux, though? Well??????
  9. Have a pair of Stratos seats. They are a "not quite matching" pair (slightly different in the head restraints), but otherwise identical. Both have been re-trimmed in black, I'm after $250 for the pair.
  10. Not all wheels use standard Nissan wheel nuts. Some require tapered seats, some require flat washers. Check the wheels for what type of nut they might require.
  11. The sensor in the bottom tank is the A/C thermo fan switch.
  12. That won't hold pressure in the system.Maybe the IC is damaged (cracked,) and leaking under boost.
  13. Those jackets we were able to purchase last year. In the lower half inside is a "zipper". However, it (mine) doesn't have the catch to zip / unzip. And now mine has unzipped, and, of course, I can't zip it. Is it a fault, or a stupid design, or what?
  14. What happens with the lights if you shift to neutral? I'd suggest the alternator is dying, and isn't able to supply sufficient voltage at idle (with tranny loading engine) to keep the lights going. Otherwise, you have a really serious wiring problem.
  15. The water pump may have spat some vanes off the impeller, so it doesn't circulate water properly.
  16. I have a set of ACL forgies, +040, to suit a RB25DET. I'm after $1000 for them (which is slightly less than they cost me), delivery included.
  17. Seems to be no trains running. Just about every train on my line (Glen Waverley line) has been cancelled. FIIK how I'm getting home tonight.
  18. It's not a leak in the turbo piping - the engine is making 3.5 x 100mm Hg boost (approx 7psi). It WILL NOT be O2 sensors - the ECU ignores them while boost is happening. They may, however, be contributing to the poor fuel economy. But that may also be caused by trying to "drive through" the present problem. If the car has been fitted with larger aftermarket turbos, it might be suffering compressor surge. Check ignition timing.
  19. The water in the bottom radiator hose will be at its coolest. As long as you recognise that fact, there's no reason why you can't fit the sensor there.
  20. Some timing lights have a habit of "doubling" the timing reading (don't ask me how they do, but they just do). So your "35" might be really "17.5". I'd get it to a workshop that has the good gear to check the "true" reading.
  21. The ECU sends a TPS signal to the ATTESSA computer. If the Mines isn't a direct plug'n'play, then it might not be sending any signal.Check the error codes on the ATTESSA ECU.
  22. Then how did they tune it? Sounds awfully like a rev limit being hit. Take it back to the tuner and ask him to fix.
  23. ??????? There are 2 sensors - 1 for the ECU (2-pin connector), one for the gauge (single-pin connector).
  24. There are different sizes in different parts of the bell housing. Measure the thickness of the bell housing at each bolt hole, then add about 15mm - that should give you the length required. From memory, I think the larger bolts are 12x1.25 (maybe 1.5). The smaller will probably be 8x1 .
  25. I thought standard tyres were 55 profile. As a "rule of thumb" (a very rough guide), you should be running a 35 profile on 18" rims (10 units profile per inch change in wheel diameter). But, as Taleb said, you then need to start checking more definitively as to the exact tyre size that gives the right rolling diameter. But I would start in the 35 profile sizes.
