  1. Not to mention all the electronics that go with making a AWD work. Much cheaper to get a GT-R. The other option is a GTS4 and fit a Stagea RB25DET, or a RB26DETT.
  2. Sounds like the head gasket has let go in a big way.
  3. Is this from a Subaru dealer, or just any run-of-the-mill used car shonky dealer? If he's a Subaru dealer, then report him to Subaru for being a di(khead - any mechanic worth his salt will know that the rotten egg smell (H2S - Hydrogen Sulphide) is caused by a faulty catalytic converter and/or too much sulphur in the fuel in the first place.
  4. It's Third Party Property. So it shouldn't matter a rat's to the insurance company that the car has a few scratches, because TPP doesn't cover repairs to your car anyway. Try your local auto club (RACV, NRMA, etc).
  5. dba1170 / dba1220 fit my R32 GTS4 OK. I think you will find that any of the 4-pot front calipers will take the dba1170 pads.
  6. You can remove the engine without the gearbox. There is enough clearance if you remove the radiator. Last thing you want is the engine leaping forward as it disengages the gearbox and punching a hole in the middle of the radiator. Support the gearbox with a jack first.
  7. Possibly worn castor bushes. Or warped disks.
  8. 3 - 4 times as much??? pffft. The braided hose we got from Maltech were marginally more expensive than Nissan hoses. They cost around $350 for a set of 4. I purchased a pair of genuine Nissan front hoses at $90 EACH. 3 - 4 times as expensive. PFFFTT!
  9. It might be a defence, but it doesn't guarantee that you will be found not guilty. Here's another link: http://www.mds.rmit.edu.au/law/node5.html where it states: The essence of a defamation action is damage to reputation, not that the publication was untrue, or that it infringed on the privacy of the plaintiff.
  10. I have one that came off a Stagea RB25DET. I can't use it on my R32 because it is too small to drive the HICAS. How does $100 sound?
  11. Why not take it back to the dealer and tell them to finish the job you paid good "dealer delivery" $$$ for.
  12. The truth can still be defamatory. If the statement lessens the reputation of the person / business about whom the statement is made, then the person making the statement can be guilty of defamation.
  13. If you are still stuck, PM me with location details. I'm free any night except Wednesday.
  14. Check that all the plugs are back on the coils properly. And check you haven't bent a pin on the coil connection.
  15. Could be for the Cold Start Air valve - hangs under the inlet plenum on a RB25.
  16. PM me http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=86310&hl=
  17. My calcs: Monthly repayment = $505.72 Total over 48 months = $24272.38 Over 29 months, you have repaid $14665.80 Therefore, balance outstanding = $9608.61 They reckon $9200, I'd take $9200.
  18. All that is wrong is that the rubber surrounds on the coils have a bit of a grip on the tops of the spark plugs. Just pull harder - you won't break anything.
  19. My experience is that you have to ensure that the air flows through the radiator. You will probably need bonnet vents, and you definitely need to construct some sort of undertray to blank off the space between the front bar and the bottom radiator mount. Personally, I don't think it's worth the hassle for the extra couple of kW you will gain. I would be taking it back to the "dodgy workshop" and tell them to fix the fan.
  20. What does the tyre manufcturer recommend?I'm running 235/45x17 Bridgestone GIIIs at 36psi - because that's what B/S recommends.
  21. Been there, done that. If you look very carefully at the camshaft side, you can see which half of the hole the key was attached to. You then need to visualise the CAS key matching over the imaginary cam key. The CAS is also driven by meshing teeth, and it ends up that there is really only one position that the CAS can go back on that will permit the engine to start.
  22. Maybe a faulty / failing connection of one of the fusible links onto the battery.
  23. If Nissan have a kit, then use that. The guys at ABS should be able to work with it.
  24. I had one done last February - $500. That included a bit of work to reinforce some weak areas that weren't moulded correctly in the first place.
  25. Just up in the Bursons near work - Selleys seem to have a couple of products specifically for cleaning oil-in-concrete. Cement / kitty litter only work for the initial spill, to absorb the liquid oil. Caustic soda is actually available in supermarkets (it's basically Draino). DO BE CAREFUL - it is highly corrosive, and will generate massive amounts of heat as it dissolves in water (the water can be near boiling!)
