Too many variables, eg. * If a car with standard power hits the rev limiter in top gear (unlikely) then you can quadruple the horsepower, it will get there quicker, but will still not go any faster, because the motor is turning the same gearing as fast as it can. * If we take the same car and with all of the engine work decide to rev it 1000rpm harder, so increase the rev limiter, it will go faster, but not because of the horsepower * If the car however does not have the grunt to turn top gear to the limiter then more horsepower will make it faster.
  2. I'm with you Tyres, people just declaring stuff to be shit with no reasoning is more like a primary school kid than the usual flow of high school kids we get around holiday time. There are things you have said that I may not agree with, but they are opinions, and that is what your entitled to.
  3. There are reasons that 4wd is outlawed in the majority of racing categories, and that where it is legal, it wins... There are the odd exceptions, a few FWD victories in WRC on tarmac in the mid 90s being examples. I spent a year rallying an RS impreza, then went back to an AE111 Levin, the RS was heavier, less powerful and much worse geared, but there was NO comparison, even a fast open downhill stage (Levin had bigger brakes too). I am not saying this is a hard fast rule, and I take great joy in beating 4wds in my 2wd, but it takes some work

That's a steal, but people just don't see value in buying a car that has been loved, $15k, plus a pair of turbos, then a timing belt, water pump, clutch, all stuff that is bound to go very soon on a cheap GTR is well over $24k, And still half the car this is... I wanted a v-spec but I would have bought this. P.S, any internal engine work? Got -7s, aiming for 300..

I know of a WRC car which was minus a motor and gearbox only that got crushed, it was here for display and demo, it's useable period came to an end, and my mate was directed to take it to the crushers and watch until it was 100% crushed and destroyed, seats, harnesses, struts, lock, stock, the f**ken lot... And it was pucca... Speaking of cars imported then getting wasted... So back to rare Skylines...
  10. The AWD basics for the Aurion already exists under the Kluger and Rav, to show just how much that car was hampered, it was only about 4 seconds quicker around Oran Park than the TRD Hilux... Turbo Diesel is not really as fantastic as people make out at times, the v8 twin td Landcruiser needs to do about 200,000k before you get the $10k extra back, that's before the service and oil costs... Yes the torque is great, and they make it really early, but it is often for a pretty small range generally, they are getting better though
  11. Territory has TD now, so the Falcon can't be far off. Don't expect to see many (if any) new straight 6 motors coming along, the packaging required does not allow for straight motors nowadays, when v motors are getting to be much more refined nowadays. Would love to hear from the blokes who find this thread funny, I understand you have said it draw attention to how much more knowleadgeable you are than all of us... But I am happy to listen and learn

  16. 32 V spec II, currently only N1s and the usual pods/exhaust, by then a PFC, maybe injectors.. So will be under 300awkw, but I just love any chance to use the thing properly. Sounds like it might be a popular event..

  18. Trap speeds listed seem low?? I admit to know NOTHING about drag racing, having done 1 wednesday night, but I was pulling 170 at 400, I know that does not equate to 570k at 1000, but I would have though even mine would be closer to 240-250 based on our local supersprint... will hopefully find out at Temora... Mate with a 280+rwkw 180 coming as well, should be good fun!
  19. Was Mark (Berry) running full slicks or Semis? That could easily equate to a few seconds, but as has been said, would love to know what Heaphy and Jim had to say, would also love to hear Chubs recollection of the night, apart from the bit where he takes a bloke home...

Just for the record, I wouldn't go recording phone conversations willy nilly, A) without the consent of the person you record it is worth 2 parts of SFA, B) they can take action against you if you do not inform them. Working in a call centre as soon as someone says "I am recording this because (insert some stupid insulting reason)" I know I am talking to someone who is to busy having a problem to find time to sit back while I fix it, guaranteed idiot
  21. Saw a thread previously (on the ipohne so hard to find) which said that MA may indicate a limited factory run or option (like Chris said), things like airbags etc. The nismo plate as mentioned relates to work done by Nismo and the number to what was done

    Got a mate chasing a brake upgrade for his 180, after 4 piston Nissan calipers, condition not overly important, can pick up from Sydney this weekend, will spend upto $100
