  1. Welcome to the Import scene! You will definately not regret the change, will make you realise how badly that AU really drives.... Best of luck with the sale, How long til you are off your P's? maybe put up with the AU for a little longer and go straight into a Turbo?
  2. As exiting as it is for me to have someone on the forum who is awsum enough to apparently have a Ferrari, let me just say: A) If you have such an issue with Nissans and Japanese cars in general, join a Ferrari Forum B) Find me evidence of a Ferrari with a 5 star safety rating.... Interestingly, NCAP 2009 top five does have a Euro car on top http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf...A2576BA000EDCD8 Followed by 2 Japanese cars (2+3), then a Korean (4), with another Japanese and 2 Euros coming in equal 5th.. so of the 7 cars in the top 5, 3 are Japanese, 3 are European, and one is korean, making it 4 Asian cars all up... NO Italians, 1 German.... Further to that, suggesting that saving weight reduces crumple zones and strength... Crumple Zones are a designed weak spot, which is in actual fact a direct opposite to strenght.
  3. As if put 18s on an R34.... Also running 1.1 Bar on ceramic turbos from what I can see, Also there is a lot of "style" in the list of stick ons...
  4. will post pics of shocks tomorrow
  5. Picked these up as payment for some work done to my mothers R33 GTR, hoping they would suit the R32, she has removed them because they are pretty stiff, and having done Targa with Steve from justjap she got a good price on some BC coilovers. R33 GTR Bilsteins, with adjustable height via threaded bodies, also have helper springs, silver bodies also with 9 stage adjustment, fronts at the top rears on the bottom so you can adjust without removing the rear seat.. (Hint BC..) They appear to be equivelent to what is today the B14 or maybe B16, I have attempted to contact SydneyKid re what specs etc, but have been unable to get any answer. The modem numbers are as follows F: 3701BM5-2991 MO R: 4301VM3-4614MO Looking at what I can find about current range, guessing these would have been well over $3k new, the car they came of had travelled a total of 70odd k, and arrived in Aus Standard. I am chasing $500, pretty firm on that, want them gone to finance new turbos, they are located in Bathurst, but I am in Sydney pretty often (including this Sunday), and am happy to deliver when I am in Sydney, or meet halfway another time, otherwise postage at buyers expense. Photo is of the car with these fitted
  6. All 4 tickets recieved, Thanks heaps Terry, was great tool for convincing the wife I should get Turbos ASAP, I will have 1 R32 V Spec II (ZLA32V) and 1 R33 V Spec (ZLA33V) there!
  7. Cable speed goes "turbo" 8000, elite 30000, premium 100000, not too sure if there are any clearer ways to say it?
  8. If da PFC don't come wif da computa or da handset what wud it come wif?
  9. E-mail sent for payment! Cannot wait, Damn my turbos for letting go, will not be resprayed in time now!
  10. "Premium cable" is the marketing speak for it http://www.bigpond.com/internet/plans/bund...-bundles-plans/ Not trying to spam etc, but it sure is cool, speeds are not quoted there, but I had not looked before so will have to get it added on the site. 30mbps is "Elite," this sits above that, as you will see from the pricing.... I talk to 30+ people a day about this stuff day in day out.. The figures are right.
  11. Essential disclaimer: I work for BigPond, BP residential Cable in Melbourne is running 100mbps.... and we have had people speed test OVER 85mbps BP "Velocity" and also the FTTP trial in Point Cook are rated similar, but have not heard any speed results yet. This was my result, I am not in an ADSL2+ area, so I am running the "elite" 8000 speed, pretty sure I am about 800m from the exchange, running the old BP supplied "2 wire" WiFi modem,
  12. Are there holes from where the Fog lights were mounted, or any marks at all?
  13. Had mine for a year, yeah, it uses more fuel than my Wifes Corolla, but around town it is no worse that my old mans VX Commonwhore. Also has been running upto 20psi, on what turns out to have been stock ceramic turbos. I think they really are just a car that moreso will give back what you give them. Look after them and you will not have any trouble. *Spun big-ends- Keep maybe an extra 1/2 a litre of oil in it, and spend 30secs a week checking it, mine never moves, but even that is nice to know. (20v Corolla motors are far worse for this, exhaust goes straight under the Sump and literally cooks the oil, seen one with 2 inchs of sludge after having fresh oil at the start of a rally) *Blown turbos- Don't run too much boost until you put steel ones on there, I used 20psi many times with stockies on there, (thinking that the way everyone carried on they had to have been steel, because the car was running 20psi from Japland, and "Ceramic turbos explode at 16psi, the first time they ever get there") Sure for the money you could have bought a newer Rex or Evo... And then you would be kicking yourself when your first gearbox let go.... A mate spent $25,000 on a brand new Kia not long ago, telling me "I really want a Skyline but having a kid etc, want a good reliable family car" Stereo doesn't work, Power windows are intemitent, likewise the wipers, does'nt go into 4th when it is cold, and sometimes when it is warm..... and even worse now it is worth about $15000.... P.S, car looks great, look after it and it will look after you.
  14. R34 Nur, all the benefits of the advancements, with slightly softer suspension tune that regular R34 (From what I have seen) Would seem perfect for what you are talking about. Double check that info though, but pretty sure that was one of the major differences with the Nur
  15. Mods, Since the change back to Australian hosting, I have to login every time I return to SAU, my username and password are both saved when I go to login, but I still have to do it, Left it for a while incase it cleared up, but has not done so
  16. so much better than wasteland!
  17. As for the performance without turbos... Recently had 1 turbo let go (exhaust turbine snapped clean off) the car was slower than my 1989 4.2l patrol running on Gas. Not even close....
  18. So true about "Market Value" Right now I have an R32 V-SpecII with no turbos, and in need of a respray, market Value would be about $12000, Not sure if anyone would pay that for it. Fact is if anyone rocked up with $50k, it would not be for sale, because it's value to me is higher than that. (So just imagine what it would be worth to me with turbos...)
  19. What exactly makes this a Nismo gtr and not a regular Nissan Gtr?
  20. Yep... If it sounds like your clutch is slipping, but it's not, your getting wheelspin, or something is broken.. Good traction sounds exactly the opposite to a slippling clutch
  21. Different shocks unfortunately.
  22. Done a bit of searching, it seems as though I may be out of luck but would love 100% confirmation, Will R33 shocks fit an R32 (Both GTR V-specs) yes I could fit them and see, but thought I would as here first, help appreciated
  23. I was a part of a 1 make series in rallying, it was a joke, the marketing lady that was responsible for the rules etc could not get a fuel rule in place for the first round so decided no one would run race fuel because it would not be in the spirit of it... The case of biggest wallet winning was not only highlighted by the creative rule interpreting, but it became apparent in the way that parts were replaced. To have 6 spare suspension arm per corner and gearboxes etc means that you can cut corners more, hit jumps harder etc and at $600+ a pop not everyone can do that, also cars that were consistently 70-100kg lighter seemed strange too..
  24. Have a 1990 Liberty Wagon for sale, the body is rust free, but previous owner had spatial relations issues and it is pretty scratched up.. However it contains the following parts, would prefer to sell complete, but will part for the right money. I have spent OVER $10,000 on the parts in this car, and I do not want to see it go, but I have it, a broken rally car and a broken GTR, and for the meantime and driving a 3 cylinder Charade, so I want my GTR back on the road.... Engine: 2004 Liberty 2.5 litre bottom end, balanced to with 1gram, both static and spun, pulleys through to flywheel. with spun big end.. Unclear how bad, started it, heard the rattle shut it off, Sump is off, bottom will come off bearings soon, bottom end did 30000k in the original car, then came out for warranty replacement, I have fitted all genuine rings and bearing <5000k ago, and while someone else had it it ran short on oil, hence the big ends. ALSO Where the head studs go into the block has been massively strengthened, because Subaru Alloy is weak as piss and the head studs fall out... 1992 Liberty 2.2 heads, all rebuilt with genuine parts, flowed (30+% better) with Tighe mild cams. with <5000k old heavy duty Exedy cluch All new belts, pulleys water pump etc I have driven the car for about 1 year, the motor is brilliant, better lower torque than standard, and getting 10l/100 around town. Gearbox: 2004 Forester gearbox, approx 30000k old, with a 1990 Liberty diff.... Basically the Forester has high gears and a low diff, the Liberty is the opposite, because they rev a bit hard at 100k, I put my diff in an almost new Forester box, which was then fully rebuilt by Subaru's own gearbox Guru (he trains Subaru mechanics to rebuild gearboxes) 5th gear now sits at 2800 at 110, still has low range, and with the above motor the car pulls up hills in fifth with ease that used to need fourth in a shorter geared box. Suspension: 2004 Impreza RS Sedan Struts (same as WRX) and springs. Front spring SEATS have been cut and rewelded so car sits even (Wagon rear struts are longer) Car sits visibly lowered, but still very practical, most importantly though it is like swimmers on a woolen blanket. my 1990 wagon feels better into and mid way through a corner than the GTR, and it is only sheer grunt that gets the GTR out quicker. Car sits flat, tight and is still a great ride day to day. Other stuff: 2004 WRX Leather Momo, with airbag still in place.. perfect nick Liberty RS Turbo Mags, with scratches, and 205/50 Falken Azenis, few years old, but still seem pretty sticky, also heaps of tread left Hitech full stainless 2.5in Exhaust, came off 2004 RS Impreza, however has been lengthened to fit above Wagon, 1 muffler on the back, was built for Impreza Rally car, so no shiny tip, but the Wagon sounds hot with it. Body: Mushroom Brown, wagon, GX AWD, all the luxo bits, has tints and very dark rear tint, good comfy car, was looking forward to having it day to day for a few years, but have no choice now... As you can see I have put a massive amount of effort and research into building this car, and I love driving it, looks like nothing but goes well enough and handles brilliantly. I will be sad to see it go. No rego, but passed 12 months ago and will not have any probs this time round either with bigends replaced. Chasing $4000 for the lot, there are also some forester drive shafts etc to go with it, and some old WRX Wagon Struts.
