  1. People buying Lexi can still see the link to Toyota, and really all that does is reassure them that the car they are buying will work forever (current american stuff ignored) and they are getting alomst BMW cred, with Japanese quality, therefore great value. (for the people buying them) Infinity will still be sold through Nissan Dealers presumably (cost of doing anything else is rediculous) So people will be walking in to buy an Infinty thinking "3 litre Patrol, they blow up, D40 Navara they lunch clutches, D22 Navara, they used to blow engines, Now they have no grunt, R35 GTRs, they blow gearboxes... And getting any of that fixed under warranty is impossible on a good day" So would that ispire you to buy a REALLY expensive Nissan? I am a Nissan fan, but let's be realistic, the rep is not great at the moment because they are still a company with a very limited budget trying to be as great as they once were, and corners are still being cut.
  2. Well I am at compak attack, drove from Bathurst to see twoogles last runs, but twoogle is nowhere to be found....
  3. Have a look here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sk...ui-t312964.html There are all sorts of others coilovers available that look mighty pretty, and will make your car real low and stiff, so it will look fully sik, but will handle/drive like a peice of poo. I have a 32 Vspec II with standard suspension and recently drove an R33 with really nice looking fancy adjustable beilsteins, it is low and looks great, but it is a cop. With these cars you do not want them super low because you are running out of travel etc to work within. You actually WANT the suspension to move a bit. SK (SydneyKid) I do not know from a bar of soap, bu if he has been involved in half the motorsport suspension setup he claims to have I will be trusting his recommendation when it comes time for mine to handle better too!
  4. N13, S13, N14, S14, very different cars.... The only SR Silvia making more grunt than the GTiR was the S15, GTiR had T28, Quad throttles, solid lifters and possibly different bottom end. As far as weaknesses go: -Gearbox, stronger than a TX3/BFMR/GTX, but still pissweak at best -Interwarmer, an intercooler stuck right above the motor with no way for air to pass through, and all the heat out of the motor rises into it, plan was that it would protect it during rallies and also minimise lag, also great for rallying. reality, it caused the cars to overheat, and because the head has to be torqued down very precisely, once the car did overheat, it is hard to stop it, cars also loose 50+hp once the interwarmer comes into effect. -Nose heavy, high tendency to understeer, due to being very short, and having a lot cramed into the front, with only a diff and fuel tank in the back... -Brakes, pretty much sss brakes, with 172kw, and 1300 odd kilos... -most likely been thrashed... HAVING SAID THAT I LOVE THEM!! -don't launch it hard, (what 4wd turbo can you do this with) -put a FMIC on it -battery, Sub in the boot, and some good suspension, but you will never get near the limit day to day anyway -plently of brake upgrades -they are still the hottest hatch out there IMO
  5. Trap speed was only 170+/-2k, Not noisy on startup, will have a look down the plug holes and see what I find. Seems likely it is stock, so kinda planning to avoid 20psi..
  6. Well, Exhaust, hard piping kit, fuel pressure reg, pod filters, boost controller are all pretty easy to spot, we pulled everything down to the turbos off to check what they were, markings were as per standard in another topic on the forums. The steel turbines, basically with the boost controller on high it went to 1.4 bar, and stayed there, and has done it for 5 runs at the drags and a few other times, was not really how I intended to check if the turbines were steel or Ceramic... But it is fairly certain, also does not reach full boost until almost 4500, which seems a bit late for ceramic turbos. Computer wise, have not pulled the kick plate off, but if someone was going to play, surely they would remove the limiter.. Not really after a difinitve answer that the car has forged Wisecos, H-beam rods, a big crank and a Steel gasket, just whether I should stay well away from that much boost until we know more, or if it is LIKELY to be ok here and there...
  7. ECU we assume to be stock (Has a speed limiter anyway), turbos are stock size (with standard non N1 markings), but are still making 20psi all the way. Background on the car is hard to find, an Aussie buyer in Japan picked it up to restore, then changed his mind, sent it to Aus, his aus buyer had it and an evo 6.5, but was intructed by his other half to reduce wheeled toys by one to maintain boobed toy. Apart from mods listed in first post power wise, it has a fuel pressure reg (but just a screw one), Apexi pods, and a turbo Y-pipe with "Progress" written on it and the fuel pump is a bit noisier than I expected... Price reflected the fact that the paint on the bonnet and front guard do not reflect S#!T... $22k with about 80k on it
  8. So I have had my R32 for almost 12 months, Someone I know know's a thing or 2 about GTRs (has a mighty quick 34 v-spec he built/tuned in between tuning various motorbikes) and I mentioned that my car is running about 20psi (1.4ish bar) as it arrived from Japan, he seemed pretty sure that the car would not have a stock bottom end. Looking through the "Engine Failure" thread it does seem that it could be a lot of boost for a stocker, all that we are 100% sure of is steel turbos (cause otherwise they would have blown up) 3.5" exhaust, and HKS hard piping kit (and boost controller). I am not running this sort of boost everyday, but the car is very happy running it... So, is it likely a stock bottom end will put up with this?
  9. Simon, it is good to see someone brave enough to buy a car from interstate, I mean, all the problems of getting it registered and so on.. Take it for a blueslip, then take the blueslip/receipt/ to RTA, choose a number plate... Sure does sound tricky.... (p.s. why is there no sarcasm smiley) But seriously, awesome buy mate
  10. Your R32 GTR is sitting up ridiculously high, please lower it Needs paint first, then it will come down a little bit I see you have kept the stock BBS wheels, but I'd change them and get a good offset to fill your guards. Thinking about spacers for the BBS's, same result, keep genuine look What the hell are those wheels you have on your R33 GTR? The R33 belongs to my mother, I have told her to get rid of them (came on it) But she reckons she likes them They look chrome and are terrible + more low on the R33 would be great. Living in Bathurst, it will probably actually be raised a fraction If I may suggest some wheels such as Rays Engineering Wheels or NISMO LMGT's. Other then that, it is good to see you have the V-Spec / V-Spec II models as they will be a collectors item any time soon. R32 will be, R33 there were as many v-specs as non. Factory Brembo's are aways a bonus on the R32 GTR. What exhaust is that on the R32 GTR? Is it nice a quiet and still give good exhaust flow? I might actually look for something different, it is a little bit dull, computer may help though I have a Veilside Oval shape muffler / cat back, I am yet to put on as it needs a few modifications before it can fit on. So did you end up taking the GTR's for a drive around Mt. Panorama? We live in Bathurst, so are aware of how much time the boys in blue spend up there, but the shots are from McPhillamy, so did have to do a lap Which can also be counteracted with the fact it is probably quicker than mine too
  11. The BEST buy in the Skyline market at the moment are R33 GTRs, Check http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ec-t309417.html for the difference between a $22,000 R32 and a $25,000 R33... The add a Power FC, Cams, Cam gears, intercooler, Bilsteins and a 3 years newer car the R33 side of things.. They are a steal, I know you did not need another GTR post, but I have the 32 in those pics, and the ONLY reasons I went a 32 was because I wanted an R32 V-specII specifically, and because I have daily drive. Day to day, R33 GTR or a later GTT hands down
  12. Seem to be kicking off at about $30k for a car you would have (from about this time last year when I was shopping) There was an IMMACULATE v-specII in Melb with 100k (But seemed genuine) for $32k But it sat on carsales for about 3 months. I payed $22k, but my car is in need of paint, and I still feel I got a bargain. 70-80k guestimate (67 on a Nismo speedo) old very neat apart from paint showing it's age. Without seeing it, or without ks, I would say $30 is a medium price. The 2 on ebay that were big dollars were v-IIs, but I personally could not see the value in either of them, but would be VERY keen to know what they pulled
  13. So I bought my R32 a while ago, and my Mum then decided that as she has done Targa Tasmania with Steve from JustJap many years running and because she liked my car so much, she would also buy a GTR... Told her that the R33 might not have cult following of R32 or R34, but value is heaps better etc etc, so at 50+ my mother goes and buys an R33 GTR V-spec, with about 270awkw.. Therefore faster than my R32.. and looks bloody nice too..
  14. The 16in Wheels were still fitted to late R32s, only the V-specs with Brembos had 17's, possibly the bigger rotors were from these instead.
  15. Sounds more like the bloke buying it was making up bullshit. I had a bloke telling me his old man bought a WRX from the dealership in Bathurst, but when they built it in Japan they had accidently used a WRC shell, so it was heaps lighter, but a made a few odd creaks etc when the body would normally flex because it was heaps stronger... A roll cage hidden behind the trim and carpet... You ever tried fitting a 1.5 inch diameter pipe between trim and the body? or making it impossible to see to the point a car dealer would not charge extra for it? P.S., not having a go at RB27DETT, just the guy buying the car who was stretching the truth
  16. Might be an idea to read forum rules before Bumping again...
  17. Wrong Forum buddy, you want ns.com or streetcommonwhores over there-> I was in Stock control for a Toyota Dealership, ordered 2 cars from 1 dealership, organised freight, Day of estimated arrival, no cars, ring frieght company that afternoon, "Oh there was a delay, they are on a truck and will be there tomorrow" (Coming from QLD to Bathurst) Next day, no Cars, Phone call "Oh they are in the depot, truck/driver probs, be there tomorrow" Next day, no cars, Phone call "What do you mean you don't have them, we delivered them this morning, they are parked out the back, keys are in the box" I go out the back (Again) looking for a Landcruiser, and a bright F>>off green Aurion, no cars, no keys. Call again, "Yep we have delivered them, the driver has returned to the depot in Albury and has no cars" me "Albury.... Which dealership did he deliver them too?..." "Wodonga- that is what is on the con note" Me- "Why would I have cars delivered to Wodonga, when I am in Bathurst?" "Well that is where you told us to deliver them, so if you want them somewhere else would you like to book them in, we should be able to pick them up in 2 days..." According the freight company I must have "Forgotten" which dealership I wanted them delivered to, and said Wodonga, instead of Bathurst... So we had to pay to send them back halfway to where they came from..
  18. Can not decide if watching a car like that drift makes me horny or angry....
  19. Know the feeling mate! Was the same with mine, 10 years wanting an R32 V-spec and to finally drive away in one is an awesome feeling. Had mine about 7-8 months now and it is only a weekender, which still means even just cruising into town for a coffee with a mate feels like something you have to tell people about, every drive is an event.
  20. Attempted pm sent re AFMs inbox full, please pm asap will pay delivery to 2795
  21. Use a 1mm drill bit
  22. Perhaps if you post this in a more obscure place like the "for sale" section, people wanting to purchase a car may stumble across it... But seriously, chuck it in for sale buddy, ad some photos, Heaps better chance
  23. Thanks Bundy, sorry to be a pain but do you know if it possible to confirm V-Spec or not?
