I am picking up my R32 GTR on Saturday (Fingers crossed), I have wanted to buy one of these for well over 10 years and have finally got there. The vehicle I have bought has the following mods; *3.5in exhaust (possibly Apexi according to seller) *Apexi Dual Pods *HKS Hard piping kit *Adjustable fuel pressure reg *Adjustable boost (Good brand electronic one running 0.8 bar or 1.a little bit bar on high and manual settings) it also possibly has the following *Larger Injectors *Played with standard ECU *Z32 AFMs It is these last parts that I am a little concerned about, Clearly if it has injectors and Z32s it also has the ECU, but it is the tuning of the ECU that worries me, I am having the car run on a 4 wheel Hub dyno after I pick it up to check mixtures, If everything here is ok then do I have any reason to worry?? When I inspected the car it ran fine, started first go and there was some fuel smoke while it was cold, it also had a pretty solid "bang" when lifting off from being on boost, so it does not sound as if it is lean but clearly there is more to it than that.. So basic question being: IF it has Injectors, Z32s and the stock ECU, as long as the mixtures are ok do I need to worry about it or is it all sweet? (I know answer does not come with Warranty)

Ok so as of next Saturday I will be the very proud owner of an R32 V-specII, it has the correct Model code on the build plate and the Vin has been confirmed, I am 100% confident my car is an original genuine V-specII. BUT When I go looking on the forums it appears there are still an incredible amount of these cars left on the road... Just Looking on this forum there seems to be a good collection of them, and then there are several in the UK, and presumably Japan has not run out yet, then there is the attrition rate of 15 years of these cars being wrapped around poles... Does anyone else get this impression, How about a quick Poll to get an idea of how many are on SAU alone....

"Up for sale is a 32GTR wing its in very good condition $250 (yellow) And also i have a 32GTR N1 lip $150 (yellow) both are in yellow," Hard to tell from the photo are both items yellow?? -
Are we counting V-spec II in this?? I should be enjoying ownership of one in about 3-4 weeks... (Have been waiting about 10 years to be able to say that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
-
Is this the same person that had the R31 GTRSXVspec Nur or whatever it was a few years back??? 3 posts and never to be seen again....
-
Yeah apparently Gay guys pay really good money for MX5's, do they deliver enough of a punch in the back though???
-

OMFG!!!!!! You bought a Miata.... Is the boot big enough for your handbag Princess??? Did you do it up for the Parade the other weekend??? I thought a 34 second R33 was bad, please come to bathurst soon to have drinks with Broads, Pete, Paul and myself, We have so much crap to hang on you.

Also need to consider the effect of Turbo restrictors, For a single turbo you need to run a 34mm restrictor (Group N is 32mm), which means for each of the GTR turbos you need to run 17mm. Yes I am serious, and it cam straight from the mouth of an ARC Scruitineer of considerable knowledge, and an R32 is the exact reason I quizzed him about it. There was talk about allowing cars to run with no restrictors if they were running AUS Pump Fuel, not Elf etc but it is some time since I have heard anything on that front.

AND THEN!!!!!! Show us more!!

For anyone who wants more info go to the Imports 101 page and appears right at the top of stocklist...

If my pants are pregnant, I am blaming this car!

I once owned a Stagea series 1 RS4 with VIN WGNC3400007.. I think it was the only one in Aus (maybe the world) with this VIN, can anyone confirm??? I am hoping that by posting the stupidest thing that could be said in this post we will now see replies appropriate to... "I am interested in setting seeing/contributing to an on-line registry of rare Skylines in Australia and potentially o/seas, similar to other on-line registries of rare models, and am keen to see how much interest there is with members here, and also if it is possible to make this part of the SAU site itself. For example, there were 228 R32 N1 cars built. I know of one in Australia (mine), and I am aware that someone was trying to pass off a normal GTR as an N1 car on carsales.com.au recently. In this case it would help potential buyers to see a registry of these cars e.g specifications built numbers VIN numbers of "registered" cars pictures of cars history for each car info on who owns them (subject to how willing the owners are to share than info)"

Pretty sure if you read through this forum there will plenty of information regarding the gearbox issues, the car that strips 1st in the video has been widely publicised as having in excess of 600hp, 700nm and running consistent 10 sec 1/4s. It may be worth your time to have a read through some topics with things in the title like "R35 gearbox" to get some info in this.

We finally learn to secret to the GTR's success, they run more than 1 rod in a 6 cylinder motor... Just wait til Porsche find out. I bet they secretly ran 6 rods in the car they used to set the time at the 'ring!!! oh PICS OR BAN!!

IMHO - The ZR1 is a pure sports car. I mean it has a stick shift for starters! 1)It also has leaf springs.. and name a race series that still uses "stick shifts" (Manual??) i have to say that the ZR1 is a more refined piece of machinery. 2) refer item 1.. or do you mean it's highly refined pushrod motor? the fact it needs 6.2 litres to make 130 horsepower (there are plenty of NA motors with better than that power/litre) more than the GTR? then there is the drivetrain again, a manual for going fast, an auto for cruising, and what would have to be close to the most advanced 4WD system in the world Vs a truck gearbox, and an LSD... I donot want to start a flame at all. Im just saying lets appreciate other cars as well as Skylines. All for appreciating other cars, I rally a Toyota, I would happily own a ZR1, but only to do BIG skids in! Personally, sarcastically speaking, if the President of USA gave me a choice to own, between a ZR1, Merc SL range, BMW, Japan, Id gladly choose the ZR1 As above, I would take Japan, especially with all the grid calls I see photos of! However tho, on the track it would be different story. I mean come on, who DOESNT love that awesome supercharged V8 on full song???? Dam! eh, Maybe a nice old 5 litre aussie 8, but I would take a nice 350kw RB over that thing.

Rode in a car with a very similar setup and KW. IT CHANGES YOUR FUC&!N% WORLD! These cars feel as if the world is going to end and yet feel incredibly safe with this sort of grunt. Goodluck, spectacular R32, and a free bump

Got the engine bay and look for a plaque that that may say either year of manufacture or something in Japanese, next to that will be a year between 1989 and 1994 this will tell you what year your R32 is

First of all: I do not own a GTR and have not seen an R35 I do not pretend to be the master of engineering But I have had fair bit of experience abusing (rallying) and maintaining several different cars (including a Subaru with reportedly the worlds weakest gearbox) I would buy an R35 long before I could convince myself I could afford it, and have ridden in a couple of fairly quick R32's (enough to know that I am buying one) and owned a Stagea Now for my highly Educated opinion based on the above. You can buy a car with Ferrari (etc) performance for a tiny price, Nissan knew it was going to be a model they would lose money on, and it was always designed to come in at the price they have achieved. You get what you pay for people! How many other true supercars get this sort punishment, seriously when did you last see a Ferrari go past 1/3 rev range? (yes I know they get raced, but the people racing them I am betting do pretty regular maintenance) This price means that people buying these cars are not millionaires who need something to drive to Starbucks in, and it also means that Nissan do not have the margin to be throwing gearboxes in under warranty all the time. Nothing is ever free, if a Ferrari gearbox let go in this time of course Ferrari are going to throw one in, hell you paid for at least three extra gearboxes when you bought the car Last of all, Why have these problems not come about in Japan? sure there was 1 tuner said they had some gearbox trouble, but that was it..
-
Failures resulting from the fitment and use of Genuine NISMO performance parts or non-Genuine Nissan Parts. Wow there is the best reason for Nismo parts, it specifically lists them as voiding warranty...
-
Even better meet VW at the track with Suzuki San and let him loose in the car they got 7:54 out of... and then if it misses the time pull it apart and see how many kilos of lead they stuffed into it...
-
apart from the fact that then I would have that bad taste in pants

Is this Cordia approved by CordiaGeorge or whatever his name was? If so is it quicker than R35s around the ring? Big ups for being different!
