That's 2 (almost 3) conflicting bits of info; 05U after years are as strong as 24U, 05U out of early RB26 powered cars break, then all 3 RB26 powered generations are listed as early RBs .. Just sayin'

Defference With Crankshafts
iplen replied to horizon33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
No, he's not the search feature, and I'm assuming you are asking him (as the search feature) to help someone called idiot. The correct way to do this would have been: "As the search feature, might you be able to help idiot?" -
That is why I paid $13k for an LPG powered Patrol, same thing running diesel would have been $23k+, and I feel comfortable with 2.5t in front of the Gtr. Sure there is no point spending a million on a tow/daily but having 2t of pride and joy behind a 1.8t tow car (plus tools etc) is begging for trouble, and if your tow car is overweight I am guessing your load is not covered by insurance either..

If you are getting water out of your oil catch can you have issues.. Big ones.. Exquisit, will try to get the part number for you, and will upload some shots when I am on a PC instead of the phone..
-
It's an earls fitting, it is rubbing the bonnet though (by so little it isnt funny) will have to try to change the angle it sits at to avoid this. The fitting does allow the cap to spin easily.

My mum said only if we promise to only drink non-alcoholic beer, and I am not allowed red soft drink, and no Coke within2 hours of lights out (is it a sleep over because that would be heaps way cool!!) I will never forget when I drank Coke before bed last time, and neither will my brother, he was on the bottom bunk.

Oh, and now that I am on a PC.. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=best+skyline+for+p+platers

The quad turbo 4 speed auto Gtr is heaps better, all the twin turbo 6 speed manual ones are shite.
-
Just like Stuart's, that was who I talked to prior to setting mine up, the only return is the one running through the oil cap.
-
As Stuarts example shows there are very simple ways around this problem. My answer was the "Autech style" catch can from Just Jap, with an extra return welded into the front (at the very bottom) which goes to fitting in the top of the oil filler cap. After a hill climb without this setup the car was pretty smokey, having clearly pumped a lot of oil into the cooler etc. After a pretty hard day at Goulburn the inlet is pristine, and it has not used a drop.. I know this is one car and one day, but does it need to be any more complicated than that??

People tend to caught up on purchase price when buying, spend $40k and lose $10k, it's heaps better value than spending $30k and losing $20k. As said above buy a few years old Navara, Triton, Hilux etc. Let someone else pay the new car depreciation.

The amount of fuel smoke my stagea used to blow could have powered a Prius.. Gtr is not much better at times either, fuel smoke, esspecially when the engine is cold (ie first 5-10 mins if it is -10 or 40) is not a bad thing. Safer for the engine to be rich than lean.

Please Help Me With My Very Lazy Gt2860-9's!
iplen replied to tommis85's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Don't rule out timing, the front of the exhaust cam can get chewed out and timing will move 10-15 degrees.. Tends to be less consistent though, will go like a shot one day and a bucket of crap the next. -
Been discussed a million times, I have an R32, but the 33 is a better car (have a fair bit of experience on the road with one) and they are heaps better value IMO.
-
I believe they also have be new, eg less than 50k of something
-
Thanks guys, LPG is already there, I am not sure what setup it is, or how to tell. I am only chasing a fairly minimal gain, I think by running 3-4psi I might be able to drive it a bit easier when towing, and possibly even save some fuel. It is pretty much permanently flat out ATM.

Anyone had any experience putting a turbo on an LPG powered vehicle? Got a GU with a 4.5 on LPG, it is a brilliant thing and I can think of nothing other than a 4.8 that would do the job as well for the cost. Having said that, a little bit more grunt would be nice at times.. I am only thinking about a very basic and cheap setup (sticking within the limits of the standard AFM) thoughts??

Sorry about the link, did the same thing actually, found it, posted it, then read it... For anyone who is chasing call Michael McNamara at Bathurst Toyota, tell him Ian sent you, they have 3-4 that are NOT spoken for. They did only find out the price yesterday though... 0263342224

Subarus are not *that* bulletproof.. *They are susceptible to overheating issues, which very quickly can result in blown headgaskets. *Gearboxes.. Don't dump the clutch.. *Not sure if the XT has the dual mass clutch, but they too can give trouble. Having said that.. I have owned a 91 Liberty Wagon (which I abused..) and also rallied an 04 RS which I did worse too.. The liberty did break, (headgasket) They seem to resist breaking very well, but then let go in a big way. I would still buy one, and would still recommend them, just treat it well

Ok, thought you were talking about the 86.. Was a bit worried.. As you were

Where do leaf springs come from??? Delivery date wise, Toyota Aus are getting 250pm, which means they need 2000 orders to make the waiting list Feb.. Seems pretty likely, and for that reason I expect anyone asking for a better price will be told to go home and think about it while wait gets longer.. As for Subaru doing something similar.. You need to get out from under your rock sometimes.. http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/brz/index.html

Something is worth what someone will pay for it.. Gtirs are mostly shagged, will need a gearbox rebuild... And because they have always been cheaper have been bought by people who could not afford a Gtr, and therefore often cannot afford the upkeep, not being a dick about it, but that will also mean they are not as well maintained. Have a look at R34s, still north of $40k for all but a few. R32s have had their depreciation hit already, from here it will either be slow, or they will appreciate. Unless we run out of oil..

Really don't get the dislike for this car, it is completely opposite to the R35 for example, but it was not meant to be a 4wd turbo heavy weight electronically assisted box full of trickery. This car was always pegged to be a fun, light, cheap car that could be then be tuned if the owner wanted to, a car that did not rely on ESP, stability, dual clutch etc etc. I wouldn't mind betting the people whining about this thing achieving its goal probably also whinged because the Gtr doesn't have a third pedal, and weighs 1700kgs.. I am not rushing out to buy an 86, but if I came up with an excuse and the money I would be at Toyota.

"Hey guys I have for sale a 1990 R32 GTR VSPEC in champagne" I can assure you you don't, also the ABS/4WD light being on suggests they are not working, so not perfect electrically.. The car will either be a 1990, or a v-spec, which were only built in 1993..
