Pffft... At least there not getting drunk and wrapping them around poles. Do you have any idea how many second hand cars there are in the market?? They are entertaining hundreds of thousands of people and using a few cars out of the millions on the road. Quite a few of their cars have been sold onto new owners who absolutely love them.

Oh YEAH!!!! Love white 32 GTR's (no surprise that I own one) but that looks so clean! Really nice 32! Keep it like that ** Edit - That rear GTR badge is from an R34 right?
-
Less restriction generally has performance benefits however I think you would be crazy if you drove it on the road like that. It would be horrible
-
Thank you, I couldn't be bothered trying to explain it but you have done it for me. I really enjoyed this episode and MCM is by far my fav channel on youtube
-
Well it would be completely illegal... so yeah

Right, lets get a few things straight.... Firstly, I don't think anyone actually buys a 32 GTR thinking it makes financial sense. Secondly, yes there are so many cars out there that make far more sense.... in fact there are few that would make less sense! However I too own an R32 GTR and I love it. It is without doubt the best thing I have ever bought. I knew it was not cheap and that maintaining them can be costly but that is the price you pay for a car that is iconic, fast and incredible to drive. I have driven a LOT of different cars and none have given me the same joy as my GTR does. When I was buying it I knew that you only have one chance at life and sometimes you buy things that aren't sensible so that you can enjoy the time you have. I do not regret it for a second and when people start asking me "Why would you own a car like that?" and "Must cost a lot to fill?" and "Bet thats not cheap to run?" I try to explain it to them but most don't get it. For those people I feel sad because they can't appreciate the joy I get from driving such a fantastic car.

A Bunch Of Noob Skyline Questions I Need Answered
r32line replied to hop1308's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Well I think to answer this question you firstly need to define what 'high' boost is... The factory boost levels are conservative to ensure the longevity of the turbo/engine etc. RB25's are quite strong engines and can take a bit more boost than stock however in doing so you are obviously pushing components like the turbo harder than Nissan intended and therefore you increase the wear and also likelihood of something breaking. So I don't think that a blanket statement saying that running 'high boost mode' all the time will not damage the engine is entirely correct. -
I think mine has that airbag warning thing too so like you said they all had that warning label. Sounds like you have got yourself a nice model though with it being a V-Spec and an N1 block and its putting out good power. As you have pointed out it is crying out for some nice wheels and I agree with iplen about the colour. From the pictures it looks like the bonnet is white? I would respray it white or silver but not necessarily the original white or silver from Nissan but something similar from a more modern car to make it look a bit more modern. I should ask what are your plans for the car?

Can You Put A Third Seat Belt In The Back Of Gtr
r32line replied to jbute's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have owned an R32 GTS-T and it did have a middle seatbelt installed however the rear seat in an R32 GTS-T is completely different from the R32 GTR. The rear seat in the GTR has two seats which are sunk down a bit to provide a bit of a bucket like shape and then the middle is raised up. It is not really a seat so I can't see that you could ever get a seatbelt back there. I believe the set up of the gear box and drive train in the GTR means that the hump for the driveshaft is larger than a GTS-T. However as others have said a car like this is really not suitable for 5 people even if many are kids. 2 adults and 2 kids fine, or 3 adults isn't too bad but if you are planning to have a lot of people in the car often then an EVO or something like that would be more suitable. -
Hey Everyone. I haven't been on this forum for a while now and have spent a while going through this thread which was always my fav. Here are a few pics of my 32. I think I posted some pics here years ago but oh well. Loving some of the 32's on here!

R32 Gtr Common Problems/maintenance Costs
r32line replied to Comsic Gate's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Based on what you have said so far the car sounds good, but no matter what I would NOT buy a GTR without doing a compression test. I have heard of one horror story where someone bought a GTR and then the engine blew up a few weeks after purchase despite test drive seeming fine..... The previous owner put in very thick oil to mask the enginges problems for the test drive etc. A compression test will give you satisfaction about the condition of the engine itself. Other things like alternators etc etc can go at any time but that is the same with any old car. Your $5k maintenance budget for the next few years seems resonable though I think, on the basis the car is in good running order and you look after it. -
R33 Gtr Vspec, With A Replaced Engine Issues
r32line replied to Skysthelimit's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Not a huge concern but the reason would be the way the Power FC has been programmed. A mate had a power FC put in his s15 and it did the exact same thing until he took it back and got it adjusted. Although I think in general, when you ahve a power FC and cold start the engine it tends to rev higher and for longer than a factory computer would. Talk to your tuner though. As for the temperature issue I am not sure but playing it safe in the meantime like you said would be wise. -
How Much Is My R32 Worth?
r32line replied to playboi14's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You would be doing quite well if you got that for it. Someone might pay that for it but you would have to be prepared to wait a long time. The only way you would get that kind of money is from someone on the forums who knows their sht. Good luck though. It reminded me of my first car which I think I sold for $10.5k about 2 years ago... -
Great car and the best sounding engine in existence! Love it!
-
I fail to see how the price paid or the 'transaction value' would not be acceptable...<LINK>
-
You can buy an R35 in the UK for £35k which is roughly $50k AUD. This is BELOW the LCT threshold and therefore not payable. You pay GST and customs on the price you PAID for the car less any depreciation not its market value in Aus.... So ACTUALLY it is definitely worth importing one. Buy the car for $50k AUD and then allowing $20k for import and all the other costs discussed thats still only $70k AUD and no matter what way you look at it that is CHEAP!
-
100% agree with the above A GTR with GT-SS turbos is definitely NOT what I would call reasonably stock... I have dyno tested my 32 GTR and it produces exactly 200kw at all 4 and its only engine modifications are; Pod filters, boost controller but only running 12-13 psi and an exhaust. Also it still has the original internals / block etc but its been very well looked after... A GTR with GT-SS turbos should be putting out over 300kw at all 4 which is a big difference Personally I would not bother looking at the car you have provided the link to but that is me.
-
Fair enough. I would say you would be looking at $30k for that then. VERY VERY expensive dream! Hope its worth it.
-
If you really want to drive a modified R32 GT-R on an autobahn the other option is to buy one in the UK then go on a road trip to Germany, do the autobahn's and Nürburgring then drive back to the UK and sell it. Something like this maybe: Link Just a suggestion. Otherwise you can hire some pretty nice cars in Germany relatively cheaply, for example you can get an M3 for €99/day Link

Accord euro *Edit - Oh and do not get a Cruze... They just plain suck.
-
You have an R34 and he has an R32. Yours will be much newer etc. As everyone else in this thread has said, the condition of the car and getting a full inspection / compression test will tell you what you need to know... I would not pay much attention to the odometer.
