Hmmm, Interesting. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The other thing with my issue is when it first happened and the voltage was down to 12ish as I said, but at the next set of lights it came back to 14 and the battery light went off... but a minute later the light came back on and the volt gauge read 12ish again, from then on it got worse. But my issue definitely was taking power out of the battery, did you have the same in your case?

How Well Do You Know The R32 Gt-r. Godzilla?
r32line replied to PR34CH's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Umm, wtf? From factory the car can do 0-100km/h in sub 5 seconds with the factory boost restrictor in place... My previous gts-t could do 0-100 in 6.5 completly stock and you are saying the GTR could only go 0.3secs faster??? No they didn't, they imported them, they did NOT 'produce' them. Lighter than the 1969 PGC-10.... I don't think so! -
I need some help. Driving my car the other day, my battery light came on. Upon noticing this I immediately checked the voltage gauge which read just under 12 volts unlike the usual 14. The further I drove I noticed the car was losing power and not revving out right (mind you I was shifting no later than 3,000rpm at this point). I got to my destination and left 3 hours later. Now the voltage was down to 10. The 4WD light came on indicating it had shut down, then power steering died and the engine just after. The tow truck driver connected a jumper kit and left it on and I could drive it onto the back of the truck. I got home, took the battery off and put it on charge. I just connected it now after it was fully charged and the car started but the voltage is just below 12, and again the battery light is on. My understanding is that a battery produces 12volts and when connected to the car that is running, the alternator allows the battery output to increase to 14volts. Therefore the only explanation is my alternator is dead? So my questions are: 1. Can someone who knows what they are talking about could confirm the above? 2. Can I replace the alternator with an alternator out of an R33 or R34 GTR? 3. Would I be best to get a new one from Nissan, and if so how much am I up for? 4. Labour wise I am assuming the radiator and some of the belts will have to come off, but that looks like it? Thank you in advance

Nice shots and nice car!! Higher res?

Putting in an rb26 would be far easier than trying to convert an rb25 to a twin turbo... but either option would be very expensive... I think what you need to work out is, how much power you want?? Then from there you can look at the best ways to go about getting there... because a modified rb25 can produce a decent amount of power without needing to try convert it to twin turbo etc..

Chassis Stiffness Among Models
r32line replied to Phat_Toni's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
As a general rule, I would say it is safe to assume that each subsequent model improved chassis rigidity. However there are kits you can buy to improve this, I have this under-body kit made by HKS: -

Older Members Debunk Hoon Sterotyping?
r32line replied to GTR-N1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Your inference is that people below the age of 50 are therefore hoons? I can appreciate the relationship between age and inappropritate behaviour behind the wheel but I think this is primarily based around people below the age of 22/21 where it is proven that their ability to assess risk is impaired. Beyond this age it really depends on the person. I also know that the police immediately assume that anyone driving a skyline is a 'hoon'. However the use of the term 'hoon' is banded about a lot these days. If someone takes off from the lights briskly are they a 'hoon'? If their car enables them to do this faster than most cars are they therefore more of a 'hoon'? In todays society the answer to these questions is yes. Given you drive a GTR I will assume that you occasionaly enjoy a bit of spirited driving which therefore makes you a 'hoon' also. Basically if you drive a skyline society will label you a hoon and there is nothing you can do to change that, because everyone that owns a performance car like that will give it a bit every now and then. -
You gunna change them rims? Or if not clean em?

Nice and clean... Like!

Ahhh, thats right, i remember now. Yeah I always had a soft spot for that car. Very nice.. Very similar to mine - I've also got Tein Super-street's, Work XT7's, HKS underbody chassis kit, 5Zigen exhaust and thats about it. I don't have any immediate plans to do any more to it cause I like it as it is. But if I had a spare $15k lying around then forged internals and gt-ss turbo's would be nice

Nice!! Hey, I think I remember you talking about wanting to get a 32GTR somewhere in some thread (but I may be confusing you with some1 else). If not, how long you had it man? Looks sweet! Any mods?

Yeah that can really be annoying also! I've had a few people look at mine and say "aww yeah, is that the turbo?... No match for a v8 though, ey!?"

Favourite Colour On A Skyline

you should use photobucket though, it's much better for linking photos into forums etc -
Hey ppl, I was just wondering how often you have to deal with people that aren't into cars in your life. I gotta say sometimes it really shits me. Some of the questions I've had to put up with from friends, family and collegues include: - Why spend so much on something so old? - Why is it so loud? - Whats the point of a fast car when you can only go 100km/h? - Do you know how much you could have saved if you bought something sensible? - Do you think you are fully sick when you go for a cruise? Those are just a sample but I just wanted to hear about other peoples experiences? At least on SAU I know that it is a bunch of people who understand... I bought the car for me because I like it. For many people to them it would be a piece of shit, which is fine but justifying it to people who don't get it is an impossible task. I've had my current skyline for 1.5yrs and the one before it for 2 yrs so it's not something new I've had to deal with but it has become increasingly annoying! Who feels my pain?

Total Nissan Mag - Nissan Idol Round 2
r32line replied to Al_Star's topic in General Automotive Discussion
That is a pretty miserable bunch of cars overall. 180B does look very nice though. WTF re: #9 ??? -
Reading this I think you and I are two very similar people. I started off driving parents car while saving and then bought my 32 GTS-T (the one on the left below) which I loved! I was lucky enough to be able to go from that to my 32 GTR (the one in the middle below) . I love the 32 shape and always wanted a white one and driving the GTR is very different to the GTS-T I will admit, but my GTS-T will always remain special to me being my first car and it was still a lot of fun to drive. Since I bought the GTR though I don't see how I could ever sell it. It really feels like a race car for the road and I think that is what makes it so special
