  1. I bought an R35 GTR today so I want the V35 gone asap.....make me an offer you might get a bargain. Remember rare 6 speed manual and I have 2 turbos and an intercooler begging to be fitted to it, all included in the sale.
  2. Grey R35 on Friday night driving on Stud road heading towards Knox shopping centre
  3. I bit the bullet today and put down my deposit on an R35. I am hoping to pick it up by the end of the week. I bought it second hand as they are starting to hit a more realistic value. The first mod will be a matte black vinyl wrap (The car is black). Is anyone in contact with the guy in Victoria that has the matte black vynil wrap done already, he was at the Nissan track day at Philip Island?
  4. The facts speak for themselves above, however the situation is different. Here you have a young lady that lives at home with no expenses and leverages a deposit to buy a house. The bank has a secured loan over a house. The original post stated that if you left school at 16 and worked until 24 in an unskilled field given no formal education you would not be paid more than average wage and with normal living expenses an R35GTR would be out of reach. I still stand by that fact given these assumptions. With no equity in property, shares no bank will lend a 24yo $170,000+ car as the loan is secured against a depreciating asset. Even you case study above says that the secret is spending as little on a car which is my case in point. However I can discuss property all day long as it is what I do for a living but the discussion was about affording an R35 GTR.
  5. I should have bought some shares I didnt realise you could see an 900% increase for you money in the last 2 years. I must be in the wrong game.
  6. Around $125,000 is where they should be at the moment. So the seller got market value and you paid a reasonable price. Well done to all.
  7. That's right, anyone expecting to get anymore than $130,000 for an R35 is just kidding themselves. They were to expensive to begin with, the initial rush of purchases when new is over and the real cost of running/owning or novelty has worn off and they just can't be sold for what people are expecting.
  8. Let me know how you managed to score a GTR. Assuming you are at the most 24 given that you said you were under 25. You could have only been working for a max of say 8 years if you dropped out of school at 16, I am assuming that is not the case so maybe you started working at 18, you wouldnt have a high paying job as no-one would pay an unexperienced 18 yo much money unless you are a rock star or celebrity, however I am going to assume that is not the case either. Assuming that you have an average paying job for the last 6 years being that you started working at 18, after tax, going out, general expenses and not even including rent, board etc you would not have enough money saved or even enough income to support a loan on a GTR. Now you say you are "still" at Uni so I am now going to assume that you have been there for at least 2 years which would mean that you have at least finished secondary school so you could have only had a job now for a max of 4 years which once again unless you were a computer genius or own your own social network site, no bank would give you any money for a GTR and you definately couldnt have saved enough. I see only three conclusions here, one is that you won tattslotto which the odds of that are 27,489,577:1, very unlikely. Second, your parents gave you the money, possible but pretty stupid of your parents. Or the third conclusion is that your talking crap. Make your own conclusions.
  9. I rang this guy when he first put the car on carsales and it was almost $140,000. He said that he could walk into a used car yard and get $133,000 for it all day long, I guess that is not the case now. He also mentioned that he had a GT3 and a few other sports cars and that he like to drive his cars hence why it has 28,000k's on it which I dont have a problem with however I did get the impression that they would have been hard k's and it probably was tracked due to the pedigree of his other vehicles.
  10. Where have you been looking for insurance? there are ways that under 25's can insure a GTR.
  11. It has been more than 3 months, it started at $155,000 then $153,000 now $147,000. I went and had a look at it, started it up as well. It didnt seem like it was cared for all that well, it was very dirty and had been sitting in an undercover carpark for a while not driven. Swirl marks on the paint and had been scratched under the front skirt (probably not hard to do as they are low). I have been following these on carsales pretty much since the first second hand was was advertised and the same ones are still forsale 6 odd months later just a little cheaper. There were even JDM GTR's for sale that were more expensive than brand new ADM models. I bet they didnt sell and were just removed because of being over priced. My theory is that almost everyone that was caught up in the hype, loved the car from the begginning etc and could actually afford to purchase the vehicle have done already. What we are seeing now is either the hype has worn off or they could afford to purchase on paper but in reality the ongoing costs have been more than expected hence they vehicle needs to be sold. At the moment there are 11 private sale ADM R35 GTR's for sale on carsales.com.au the interesting thing to think about is why are there 11 cars that are 1 year old for sale now out of a very limited amount that have even been sold. I wonder what percentage of GTR's are now forsale vs how many have been sold in australia in the last year. I will bet that the percentage is a lot higher than say a 1 year old commadore/falcon vs how many of them have been sold in the last year. Put simply all the quick sales are gone and the dealers arnt selling many at all now, try and get any info about how many have been sold or how many are selling now per month, its an impossible task. If you are selling a GTR now it is a different market than other $100,000+ second hand cars as after all it is only a Nissan (Not my opinion but common perception) and your market is limited until the prices get low enough for the average enthusiest to afford. What can you expect when your target market is driving around in $8000 - $15,000 cars. The prices are only going to fall further and further and faster. There will be sub $125,000 cars in the next 2 months and I would think by the end of the year it will be lower than $120,000. That's a $50,000 to $60,000 drop in 18 months. Not smart. I went into Nissan at Werribee the week the GTR was released and sat down with the manager there we went through the car, the costs, on going costs etc and I had a choice of whether to buy the car or buy a house that I looked at up the road in the middle of Werribbee. I ended up buying the house for $145,000 which was $30,000 less than the purchase price on the car. I spent $5,000 on the house and sold it 6 months later for $210,000. If I decided to buy the GTR I would be down $50,000 now not up $65,000 so technically I am $115,000 better off having not bought the car. I am only trying to illustrate that letting someone else take the initial depreciation hit is better than doing it yourself and this car is a unique circumstance in my opinion being that is was the most anticipated and talked about vehicle ever.
  12. I want to sell my V35 Coupe. I am the first Australian owner and have had it since early 2006. Its a 2003 Premium 6 speed manual, leather, sat-nav etc. The car is in fantastic condition and done 70,000 original k's. The only mods are Infiniti Badges, 19 inch wheels, Factory Nissan clear side indicators (also throw in another set of clears brand new), magna flow extractors and a short shift shifter which is a lot better than the stock one (stock shifter included as well). I will also sell with 2 of T3/T4 turbos and flanges, twin turbo intercooler and enough steam pipe to make a set of exhaust manifolds. Also various braided hoses and a blow off valve etc. I am buying an R35 GTR so I want this car gone. Price $28,800. Location Berwick, VIC. PM if you want further details, will post pics shortly.
  13. Where is the meet on December 5th? Thinking of selling the car so I should get it out again.
  14. Not true, a 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena can be bought in Australia for a low as $165,000 a R35 GTR new from Nissan Werribee is $175,000.
  15. I had the captive bolt that holds the shifter fall off. I replaced it all with a short shifter in about 30mins. The shift distance is about half what it used to be. Best $100 I ever spent.
  16. Nissan Aus wont even do a TSB on a locally sold 350Z so you will have no chance on a V35. I have been to many Nissan dealers with both the Z and the V and none were willing to honour a TSB because they are not generated in Australia.
  17. Good to see a dedicated V35 section on this forum now. I have an '03 6MT Coupe that I bought a bit over 2 years ago now. As it is time to make a change I would like to sell it for $40,000 and yes I did pay over $60,000 for it as at the time there were only about 10 in Australia. Pm me if you have any questions. There are some pics of it at an SAU event in 2006 on this forum somewhere.
  18. yey, bose, got that replaced under warranty
  19. The 350z can come with satnav in the states, we didnt get that.
  20. Did that one end up selling? Seems pretty expensive for an auto and 50,000k's. I had mine forsale prior to christmas for $49000 and it had 40000k's full premuim with Brembos and TV, manual tranny and not a single call. Obviously it didnt sell.
  21. Funny that, when I was up there they also had a stillen supercharger and intercooler they were going to fit to the V35 and sell as a kit, but when I called about it last week it was still in the box as I left it last year. What a shame.
  22. Hi guys, I have had my V35 coupe for a year now and I still am yet to see another on the road. I would really like to catch up with some of you. Please post here if you have one in Vic.
  23. Give international motor group on parramatta road in Sydney a call. They advertise in Unique Cars as well if you need the phone number. I bought mine off them over a year ago and they said they would have the TV and NAV all sorted in a couple of months. So based on that conversation they should have had a working version for almost a year.
