  1. I just bought a plenum from NZ for $450 second hand, their is only 5 of them in the world and they are a very cool looking design. There is no way I would of payed $600+ for it, $450 was about the most I would pay. This identical plenum is on an rb20 (the guy who made the plenums) and it makes over 400bhp @ 12psi (forged internals, etc). What am I trying to say? I think they are worthwhile for throttle response and to make it easier for me to do my piping but I agree with Sydneykid that $1200 is too much for a plenum unless you have BIG power. Also there is a guy on www.ozperformance.net forums called jdcustom who fabricated rb20/25 plenums that have tuned runners and retain all stock things for $550 and they look the goods. Maybe they are worth a look as people using similar plenums he makes on rb30et's are getting good power from them. Babble over and out. Evan
  2. me too Evan
  3. I used tolulene a few months back.. put in a 10% mix.... it was awesome! Evan
  4. i use qiktrak as my last car got stolen.. also my dad uses it as his last car was stolen (bugger!) ... very happy and the $$ is worth the piece of mind... $1800 to protect something you apent $20000+ on... i think its worth it... the $1800 incl. 1 year monitoring and monitoring is $400/yr thereafter. Evan
  5. I need an RB20 gasket but they want like $120... what a ripoff... damnit! Evan
  6. Walkoau: I want my Rocket covers polished, if I give them to you how much will you charge me to polish them? Evan
  7. AutoSport Engineering in Kirrawee 9521-1388 - Speak to Greg He owns a S13 with RB26DETT and 290rwkw ... he is the man when it comes to these conversions. Evan
  8. come on guys this is a good deal for the injectors free bump Evan
  9. RS500, thats awesome i might go with the 0.64 after hearing that experirnce. Evan
  10. Guys, I made the decision that with my GT28 on my RB20 I was going to go with a 0.64AR so it wouldnt have crazy lag. With this AR on 18psi I was thinking that I may make around 220rwkw. NB: I have the support systems to get what i am after (fuel, ecu, etc) but i have standard internals. I was wondering about camshafts. If I was to put some HKS, TODA, etc cams in would this allow me to get a bigger AR for the turbo, say 0.8 and have similar response? If this was the case I would be making a lot more power on similar boost because of the turbo supporting more flow and also the cams? Will cams give me much more power/response with the 0.64AR? Will they justify getting a 0.8AR? I have no idea about what cams can do for me and I am after any advice/experience but lets suppose I got some cams and the response was the same with a 0.8AR and I got say 240rwkw on lower boost like 15psi. Is this the sort of result cams will give me? I have been looking @ greenline for types/prices of cams and its all jibberish to me so any advice wouldbe great. HKS Camshafts ¥35,990 256 degrees duration, 8.8 mm lift. TODA Camshafts ¥21,599 256 degrees duration, 10.5 mm lift. Would either of these cams suit my application? Thanx Evan P.S. I dont want to have to do any other headwork.
  11. simonster i think he has standard at the moment Evan
  12. naturally aspirated. ie. no turbo or supercharger Evan
  13. lukevl, so if i sent you my camshafts it would cost me $1200 to get them done, i would be getting them done to get more bottom end and get the turbo boosting earlier? would your cams do this? Also if i had them done would it be a straight fit or would the head need modifying? Thanx Evan
  14. happened with my rb20 as well Evan
  15. lol pete, a manual gearbox ok i will ring around some places and see what i can find out but i am definately interested. Evan
  16. what ecu is it running? standard re-chipped? also whats the fuel setup? Thanx Evan
  17. Hey, What kind of flywheel comes with the clutch? Also what else will i need to get this clutch going on my car except the $700 rebuild? Could you please tell me the name/location of the place that will rebuild it. If all is good I am very interested. Please email pics to [email protected] Thanx Evan P.S. your mailbox is full
  18. so this clutch will suit a RB20 gearbox? how much would a rebuild of the clutch cost? Thanx Evan
  19. noone yet, i am gonna get one of my mates brothers to wire it up and then i will be getting cooler piping, turbo lines and dyno tuning done at Ricol performance in Peakhurst. they are good blokes Evan
  20. RS500, I think that I will go with the 0.64AR exaust housing after these comments. I could always get it machined more at a later date if I wanted. When you say a lot of boost creep before 10psi what exactly do you mean? Also when I get my wastegate actuator should i get one with a 15psi spring in it and then bleed to 18-20psi? I have a wolf 3d and i am pretty sure it has an inbuilt EBC, anyone know much about this? Thanx Evan
  21. RS500, Yes I bought the turbo off Menios and I must say he is an awesome bloke! I think I will try to go with an AR of maybe 0.75 or so just to get some kind of balance between power and response. When you say that because the exaust wheel is the same size and response wont have much difference between the 0.64 and 0.86 do you know roughly a ball park figure of when 1BAR would hit with an RB20? I would go with a 0.86 but i am scared i wont see 1BAR till after 5000rpm. Will the difference in lag be massive? Thanx Evan
