  1. Yeah it's holding Acetone and the oil Squirters. I needed something glass so the Acetone didn't eat it.
  2. Yes SLOWLY. Got to stop being so damn pedantic. That's where it finished today had an issue with the main caps so i'll pick it up again tomorrow. The bottom end WILL BE FINISHED TOMORROW. My Assembly room; The Cone of Power
  3. Yeah i spoke to him the week of the SAU track day and he seemed to be fed up with things. He is one of the best tuner in the state if not the country but even then you get a lot of he said she said bullshit. He's been the only one appart from me that has touched my current car and has done all the tunes on it. I can't get hold of him either now. But when my car it finally ready to be tuned i'll try and track him down, don't think i'll have much luck. He'll be back i'm sure but probably need some time away from the scene.
  4. I was going to mention that volumetric efficiency has a large part to play engine torque characteristics of an engine.
  5. Ruby i have one on a bracket and one without a bracket, you still have my number?
  6. i guess that's a no then, oh well what's another $50 compared to the cost of the build.
  7. Anyone got a piston ring expander i could borrow for the weekend? No jokes please i added the word "piston" to try to avoid them.
  8. The only problem is see with those setups are that any blow-by will want to get up that tube to get to the head to be breathed. The down side is that the return oil from the turbo is trying to get down the same tube. As the tube won't be 100% full you probably won't have a problem but if you turbo starts smoking you know where to look.
  9. Hey Chad, got any of the Dirt Circuit pic's?
  10. From my understanding that isn't a drain as such but more of a balance tube to balance the pressure between the head and the sump (it sits too high in head to be purely a drain). By having an axillary tube preform this function is means that the oil drain gallery's don't have air trying to move towards the head allowing for better oil draining. CA's have the same thing on the other side of the engine.
  11. That's what they charged a mate.
  12. If your going to go to S&J you'll need your cheque book and a BIG overdraft. They use ECU Tek Which is a complete rip (it is essentially to Subaru's what Nistune is to Nissan's) You'd bee looking at around $3000 installed and tuned and the licence belongs to you for that car. If you sell the car the next owner has to buy a licence and if you change cars and keep the ECU you also have to buy a new licence to us it in another car. Jeff (Speedlab) does the same thing with different hardware and you be looking at under $1500 installed and tuned, and there are no licence agreements. WRX's are a low compression high boost (14psi) engine standard and they are laggy for that, as they make all their power from boost. You could probably do with a touch more advance in ignition maps, (being low compression you can get away with more than higher compression engines) but i don't think it's worth over $1000 to get it.
  13. Just find this type, the hinge means that it fits any size (to within reason)
  14. No, Miltons
  15. Well my rebuild budget just blew out AGAIN. Paid for the head today, was expecting it to come to around $600. The bill come too $1070. This is on-top of the $240 for parts i supplied and $650 for the cams. Original budget was around $2780 I'm at $4350 and i haven't even assembled it yet. you could add another 3-400 for incidentals on top of that as well.
  16. Woot! Finished the last Exam for my degree at 12 today, One more semester and two more subjects (No Exams) to THE END. Have to work tonight so no partying unfortunately, but had a couple 's this arvo which wil tied me over until Monday

  19. Mine did this a few months after i bough the car, I just used 4 pop rivets and it was fixed. That was ~ 5 years ago.
  20. No wonder it's in limp mode you can't just plug the Z32 in and expect it to run.
  21. Hey Craig, This would have been a good option but too late now; a little bit more expensive as well http://www.ironchefimports.com/site/index....60&Itemid=1
  22. I think the first problem that your going to come across is that with a RB30ET bottom end with a RB26 head you going to have VERY low compression. I think a R34 RB25 head will give you a more suitable compression ratio, either that or rebuild your bottom end with some suitable pistons.
  23. The 280, 296 and 310 all have the same piston sizes. They are all Simota (SP?), The brembo's have different piston sizes obviously. Happy B'day Chad.
