They certainly did make that power, and that was on a Standard RB20 with something like a T04Z on it. Here's a thread with the results in it. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Tu...-M-t214053.html As Paul said Nistune is basically an interface between the Factory ECU (which uses Hex Code) and your laptop. It allows people to tune the factory ECU with out them needing to know Hex code or the address files.

Hey Steve i hear that you have that engine running. Good to hear that it was all good. Do you have the Engine Lifting Strap? (The one made out of seat belt material). I tried to find it the other day but i think i may have lent it to you?

To those who say " Don't tell them if they don't ask", you do realsie that they legally can't ask directly. It would only be asked as part of a medical fitness question. As Andrew eluded too, they will find out before your 3 months is up and they won't be happy if they find out you knew before you took the job and kept it to yourself. And AFAIK within the 3 months they don't have to give you a reason for your termination. Anyhow it's up to you, but i feel it will bite you in the ass if your not completely honest.

My understanding of the nomenclature of the Mitsubishi/Greddy/Trust is that the TD06 part of the name dictates the size of the turbine which has different trims which is dictated by the S SH H etc. The 20G side of the name dictates the compressor size. So the G determines the compressor exducer and the 20 dictates the trim of the compressor. This is clouded by the fact that there is a 16G that has a 60mm exducer and the 25G has 78mm exducer. Is seems that if the compressor is upsized above the regular compressor size for the turboine then the nomenclature changes to the T67, T78 series names. So the correct compressor for a TD06 is the 20G wheel, the TD07 is the 25G wheel, and when you mix and match the naming changes to T67, T78 names are used. The L2 wheel is a variation on the TD06S wheel which has 0 less blade and is cropped. Now this is just what i have figured by looking at the spec's and is probably completely incorrect, if it is please let me know how the nomenclature works. If you have a VSR and a CNC lathe/Mill you could probably do it yourself. But that's expensive equipment of a back yard operation. VSR

Just out of interest what did that cost you, if you don't mind me asking?

Can be bothered quoting all the posts for the replies. All the simota 4 piston calipers use the same pads, thats skyline, Z32 and S-series. The R33 have a larger diameter but not larger area. There is no point in putting a RB26 head on an RB25 block, the ports are the same size, the combustion chamber has the same volume; the only advantage is the 26 has solid lifters but when you consider that a complete 26 head is between $1500 - $2000 you could probably turn a 25 head into a solid head for less. And the 25 head has a has VTC.

Make sure you do that water pump as well, as the labour will be the most expensive individual part of the bill you might as well do the water pump at the same time as most of the labour is done. And the pump itself should be <$100.

Oh and i picked myself up one of these for $355 (Second Hand) this morning. EDIT!! With this face My DSBC will be up for sale shortly, only done 2 track days with it (<500 km's)

Once you have different cams and or adjustable gears, comparing compression results to factory will tell you nothing. This is also the same if you fit a different H/Gasket and the pistons will probably be slightly different compression to the factory ones as well. The difference between the cylinders is what you have to look at but a leak down test is what you really need. You wouldn't want the difference between cylinders to be more than 10 psi but that's probably not to bad for a cold test.

It'll only give you 2.7 because of the over bore. If you have a standard bore it will be exactally the same displacement as a standard RB26 as both the 25 and 26 have an 86mm bore. Just wondering why it was said that the R33 crank would need a crank collar. I was under the belief that it was only the 89-92 RB26 cranks that had the short oil pump drive?

i would hate to be driving on those semis in the wet.

I look forward to taking you for a drive to change your mind, Scaring the shit out of you in the process.

With the program you replace two meals a day with the shakes and then for your meal you have 200g of protein (Fish, Chicken, Lean beef, lamb or pork) with salad or veg. There are some fruits and veg that you aren't allow and some which you are restricted to a certain amount of per day. No fruit juice, breads, rice, pasta, potatos, pumpkin, corn (Basically no carbs that aren't in the shakes) your allowed salad any time and there are some soups that you can make that you are allowed any time. Oh and you have to drink 2-3 litres of water per day. No not really, don't really miss any food now (Except for bread and potatos) but in the first week you would be correct. I've slowed down with the weight loss now, first week i lost 6.5kg's but last week i only lost 1.6kg's. Oh and i have done 0 exercise at this stage, they say for the first month not to while your body get used to the reduced calorie intake.

Don't feel too bad, I'm on a diet ATM so i have a Kate Morgan shake for lunch. But i have lost 18Kg's in 6 weeks so far so it's not for nothing.

Wrecking R33 Gtst

I'll take the rear hubs assemblies, PM me your number and i'll grab them on Sunday. -
Should have put it on NS.com for people looking to upgrade their Shitty 10mm CA rad's. I just sold mine for $150

Put the my spare engine back together as a standard engine tonight. Doesn't look as sexy but will be handy with defects. BTW, there's a CA party in my garage ATM;

Is that for the 20? You don't need a nistune board to remap those ECU's so unless you are looking to datalog i wouldn't bother with the board. See Jeff and it'll be a third of that.

Happy Birthday to one of our elder statesmen, Steve, have a great day

Depends whether your going to go solid head or not? As i'm quickly finding out setting up a solid head with double valve springs will double the cost of the build. If your planning on pulling those revs constantly (i.e. the car will live on the track) then i would suggest going this route. Still cos' i'm swinging my own spanners my build is costing me less than paying someone to build a Basic Mild CA. This is my CA cost so far; Pistons and Headgasket (bundled) $760 SPOOL Rods with ARP Studs $500 ARP head & Main Studs as well as ACL race series Main and big end bearings $440. Power Bond underdriven Balancer $250 Oil Pump $180 Machining, balancing, blueprinting $1100 =$3230 The Head Parts still to buy; Solid Lifters $400 Shim Kit $200 Retainers $250 Springs $350 Viton VS Seals $120 EPP Valve Guides $120 Tomie 260 x 10.25 & 272 x 10.25 Cams $650 Head porting/machining $500 =$2590 Misc' $800 Nistune $500 (With cable) Vacuum Pump for custom breather system $300 Total = $6620 Then factor in the cost when i change the turbo over to the GT3071 $1900 External Gate $600 Custom Exhaust manifold $1000 (I'm actually going to spend $1000 on my own TIG and make it myself) Fuel pumps for E85 $500 Injectors $500 Bigger cooler, piping & surge tank $300 (I'll be using the TIG to make the piping and the tank) = $4800 Final Total = $11420 This package will make a responsive 300rwkw, and the bottom end will be able to take 700BHP. But as you can see the costs quickly add up. And as you can see the step from 250rwkw to 300rwkw (When i add the GT3071R and the stiff below that) it nearly doubles the cost. So now you can see why i'll be rebuilding a hydraulic head and using that with my HKS 264 x 9.0 cams initially with the GT2871R until i can source the other (expensive) parts. Now start getting quotes for a 25 build and see how much more expensive it is than a CA.

this is a twin scroll system. The turbine housing is split into two sections and the a bank of 3 cylinders is feed to each section. Here's a bit of an explanation; http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-0906-twi...sign/index.html

VQ?? VR you mean?
