Timing Gear Ok this is where i get the count for the timing gear; Aberax Destroy semislickR32 Tangles / writeoff (Share) Scandyflick BIT SUS Krishy So we need 5 more for it to be viable. If you want to hire the timing gear for $42 let me know.

R34 Rb25det To Rb30 Conversion
D_Stirls replied to SKYLINE SAMOA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What are the CC's of the NEO head. Are the intake manifolds interchangeable between the R33 and Neo heads? -
Should have read; The officers from Strike Force Taipan are a complete Joke, They are wannabe engineers that didn't have the brains to make it into uni.
-
I'm 110% sure. The Pistons and Seals are the same for R32, Z32 and R33 (just the diameter of the rotor and the caliper offset is different with the R33), as well as others.
-
Who's ripping you off with that price? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISSAN-300ZX-Brake-...=item1c10696de3 Or are you saying that you have to replace the pistons themselves?
-
I'm not sure on the numbers, i think Luke has missed a few people on the list. I would say that we will get the numbers needed. The GSR/EVO club are having a committee meeting tonight (I think) and once it has been past the committee then we will have a definite answer. They have hired them out in the past so Matt and Tristan doesn't see there being a problem.

I think you will have a problem with the 10.25mm of lift if you are keeping the factory hydraulic lifts, i have heard that you have problems with an exposed gallery with anything 9.25mm of lift. I have not seen this personally it's just what i have heard.

Just a bit of damage like melted pistons and broken ring lands. Just go to MTQ at regency park and get one from them, from memory they are around $165.
-
Don't buy a Walbro from the internet, there are too many knock off pumps floating around and unless you get them from an authorised dealer like MTQ there is no guarantee that you will be getting a genuine pump.

Yeah Pete from PLMS is the co creator of nistune AFAIK. You won't get 240rwkw from a GT2530 without cams and even then you would be looking at around 20psi to get there.

A bit off topic but more to do with Ben and Pete's discussion. The police and the law in most cases aren;t worth a pinch of ****. Tonight an my Misuses pub there was a group of four blokes walk into the hotel and they were quite were revved up; they were there for a grand total of 2 minutes before singling out security and beating him over the head with an metal sign pole. luckily one of the guards mates was in the hotel and could back him up otherwise they would have done to him what they had done to two guards at another hotel 10 minutes earlier. 10 minutes earlier the same guys had knocked one guard unconscious and broke the other guards arm at a hotel just down the road from my misuses hotel. The manager at her hotel was on the phone to the police before they were in the hotel (He'd been tipped off that there was trouble heading his way as the first hotel is in the same group) and it still took the police 15 minutes to arrive. When they got there they asked if they were still on premises? to which they got the "you've got to be kidding response" and the manager gave the the rego of the car they left in. The police said that they'd make a report but there was nothing much they could do???? This is their response despite having digital footage from both hotels of both incidents. and your telling us to leave it up to them. If they don't want vigilantes they should DO THEIR JOB.

That's Collinswood. You wouldn't have been on last night would have you? called in for a snack wrap for the GF and a Big Mac for me but when i got home there was no meat in the burger, both patties were missing.

For $21 you have to find someone who is not in your group to split the cost.
-
Luke do you want to start a list for the timing gear?
-
I have had no fade at all with my 180sx running R33 GTS-t brakes and A1RM pads. This is doing constant mid 1:23 for 15 to 20 minutes.

Hey Guys i have a proposal for you. I spoke to Tristan Catford (GSR/EVO club president) and we can hire the timing gear that is used for the time attack. There are 12 units and the cost will be $500 for the whole set up. it works out to $42 per unit. These units will give you accurate timing down to the 100th of a second. If two people who are in different groups want to share them then that is fine and it will make the cost $21 each, and i will swap them between the cars between sessions. It really is only viable if ally units are spoken for. I will do up a Propper timing sheet and will post that up if it goes ahead. Just out of interest the cost of buying the timing setup is ~$6000.

Those space savers are only supposed to be run to 40km/h and they are only intended to get you to a tyre repair shop to get your original tyre fixed, they aren't supposed to drive on them for extended periods.

I might come out for a look, depends what time i get up as i have just finished work and i have to prep my block to get it to Miltons next week. That and i'll be heading out there on Monday for Time Attack.

I should have put a disclaimer at the end though as it is just the way i think of it, as i'm sure Martin could find a few faults in what i wrote

Read my last post on the previous page; I'm going to AC-DC, only bought tickets this morning and there are still some avaliable.

Ok here goes; The Nissan style MAF/ AFM (hot wire) works by a wire being cooled by flowing air, which i'm sure most of you know. Now what cools the wire is the actual atoms that make up "air", now as the temp of the air increases the density of the air decreases which means that then there are less atoms per volume and the cooling affect of the air is therefore less per volume. This also means that there is less oxygen per volume which is why we run intercoolers to try and regain some extra density from the intake charge before it enters the plenum/combustion chamber. So this mean that a MAF is less sensitive to temp changes that other forms of systems because what it is actually measuring changes as the temps are increased. Now the reason that i said that the after turbo AFM mod's needs to be tuned is more to do with the VQ table that the ECU uses than temp correction. This table says that for a set voltage there is a set mass air flow. This air flow is calibrated to the size of the AFM body amongst other things, so if you change the body size you change the amount of air that passes for the voltage put out. These calibrations (and the tune in your ECU) are worked out with the AFM being in a vacuum and the air being drawn through the AFM, once you put it on the pressure side for the set voltage you will be getting more airflow as it's now a pressurised system and the flow is therefore increased. The AFM being out of calibration doesn't really matter though as you can tune around it, it just means that you can't just swap it to the other side and drive away. It would drive fine once the mod has been done while you are driving around under vacuum, as it is the same as it being before the turbo in terms of calibration but once it hits boost it'll stuff up your mixtures. When i say you can tune around it is because the ECU doesn't care about air, infact it doesn't even know what air is. The ECU takes the voltage reading from the AFM and says well i have this voltage so i need this amount of fuel (using the fuel tables set in the ECU). When you tune an ECU you are adjusting the amount of fuel for the amount of voltage the ECU is seeing from the AFM. You adjust it using a wideband O2 sensor as reference and you are adjusting it to achieve the desired Air Fuel Ratio that you want to run. This is a simplistic view of tuning and what is going on, but you should get what i mean.
-
He should have said mass but a AFM (MAF: Mass Air Flow) actually measures the air mass not volume.
-
You will need a remap went you do it, it will run without the remap but to make the most from it you will need a tune. The thing that i question with the cool side AFM mods it the integrity of the AFM casing itself, with the AFM i have i can push in the square section above the circuit board with my finger so i don't know how 20+ psi of boost will go with it. (some quick maths, that plastic section is 4"square inches. So that is 80 pounds (36.67 kg's)of force on a thin piece of plastic.

I 'll reply too the others when i get home, i'm on the mobile at the moment. I'm wondering who is going to the AC-DC concert, i'm thinking about buying a ticket on eBay but none of my mates are going.
