  1. At the end of the day the people saying that there is no problem with cops coming on cruises and looking over cars have stock (or close to) cars, if they didn't they wouldn't be saying what they are. So there is no need to cancel the cruises just let us know which ones have had the cops notified and I won't becoming to them and neither will the others on here with modded cars. I can't see what the arguments are about, if the stock car owners are upset at the modded car owners saying that they won't come to the notified cruise then they will never understand and they will never because they haven't spent the money (and in my case) time on there car. It's kind of like driving your car into a defect station because the cops have said that they won't be defecting you if you don't have and "dangerous" mod's, it's a line in the sand that we have no say over. At the end of the day they aren't engineers so how are they supposed to know what are dangerous and what aren't (apart from the obvious) all they know are ADR's.
  2. Cruises posted on SAU shouldn't carry the SAU name only the cruises organised by SAU officials should carry the SAU name (Same as what occurs on NS.com). I never thought that the cruises advertised on here had anything to do with the forum apart from the fact that is where they were advertised, i surprised now to hear that people though that they are official SAU cruises and i would be interested what the owner of the forum/website thinks about this if infact it is the case.
  3. damn the edit button; now my post has no context
  4. Hey Ryan great to hear you got that 3.5 litre engine sorted, you going to sell them? i'd be interested (i.e. "RyanRB35")
  5. You'll have to remove your seat belts as well and fill all the holes left by the removal of the belts and seats (this doesn't mean put the bolt back in it means fill them so they can be used again) and then you have to produce your car to regency for an inspection.
  6. Well the Exhaust gasket leak that i found the morning of the dyno day turned out to be a Cracked exhaust manifold, also noticed that the car was Mega Rich when it dyno as well as it being 30kw down on the previous run so i suspected to find a boost leak and i found it when i was pulling the turbo off. A screw in plug had come undo from the compressor outlet and had fallen out, i'm actually surprised that it ran with the leak. Here's a pic';
  7. The problem I have seen (and this is only a personal opinion) is that the cruise I have been on there has been more standing around talking in car parks than actually driving. Like 3 hours talking <1hour driving. I go on cruises to drive my car (as that about the only time it gets driven), not to stand around for hours talking; don't get me wrong, having a chat has it's place on cruises but when the talking replaces the driving as the main emphasis on the cruise then some thing is going wrong. At the end of the day it's a Car Cruise not a CWA meeting.
  8. As others have said I'll be sitting this one out, my engine bay has to many "Shinny" things and in cop language shinny=illegal. I would be out anyway as my car has an exhaust gasket leak so it won't be driven until I get a chance to fix it
  9. Oil Temp and Pressure and Water Temp as the one on the dash is basically useless, by the time it's reading above normal it well above 100 degrees.
  10. Mate it doesn't matter how good your thermos are if you remove that pulley as the temp are guaranteed to sky rocket...... It's the water pump pulley. I have just written a response to a similar question on NS... here it is. Oh and someone did a back to back test by removing the clutch fan and it netted 6 rwkw. As Donny has said above this isn't really the point. Your clutch fan draws power 100% of the time and the more you rev your car the more power they draw, when really you only need it to draw power when the coolant temp rises. When you are driving why do you need a fan to draw air over the radiator when air is moving over it because the car is moving. I have a single 14" thermo setup on my car and it only ever comes on when sitting at the lights for more than 3 minutes or when moving slowly under high load (i.e. up a hill behind a slow car.......bloody Sunday drivers ). This means that these are the only time that the thermos are drawing power from the engine. Even when the car is getting a flogging the temp doesn't move from 87 degrees, the more I flog it the faster i'm moving and the more air flow the radiator is getting. I also have the thermo set up on a switch in the cabin as well as the thermo switch (two signals to the same pin on the relay), this way when i'm idling the car down i can have the thermo on and drop the coolant temps (not that they'll move much because the thermostat is only starts opening at 82 degrees).
  11. Sorry to be a pain guys but if you post pictures of my car can you remove the number plate. After what happened to VG30_S13 with getting is car defected in the mail after posting pictures online i don't want to take any chances. If you don't know what happened have a read; TRANSPORT SA WARNING
  12. that link just takes you back to the SAU Main Page http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=0 Is the Video of a bloke in a WRX??
  13. I'd put a post in here as well if I was you; http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=334355
  14. Yep it's the same one.
  15. That's an insane price for an s14a, i think you'll find the market price for them is still around the $14-16K mark. EDIT!! On car sale in private listing the cheapest was $12,500 and that was for a auto with 170,000km's, most of them were around the $14.5-17,000.
  16. The person doing my remaps only charges about $150 for touch up tunes, he stores all his customers tunes on his laptop so he's not starting from scratch again and therefore charges stuff all; most of the tuners that do remapping I know of are the same. Last time I had a touch up (setting up cam gears) the car was on the dyno for more 5 hours and I was only charged $100
  17. Thanks Mate, The New Engine, when i build it will be going in a complete new shell that will be properly preped (i.e. Seam Welded and half cage). But we are talking at least 18 month away. Have the rebuild the CA and finish Our Dirt Circuit Car before I start that; but the parts collecting for it will start now.
  18. I never really rated WRX's (not that this on is standard) but this is absolutely nuts. http://video.kenblockracing.com/flash/smal...&autoplay=0 Pinched from NS.
  19. Host them on something like Photobucket and then link them using the [img][/img] tags
  20. Host them on
  21. Time for a bash through the hills then.
  22. The reason the narrow band isn't used for tuning is because it in only accurate around the 14.7:1 stoichiometric point; therefore it is no good for tuning as your are interested in the 11:1>13:1 area. It is good for closed loop how ever as this is the area the ECU is interested in for economy. The Wideband however is accurate over the whole AFR range as it has basically a linear relationship between Voltage output and AFR. O2 Sensor Output Wideband O2 Sensor output
  23. The GT2876R is a poor mismatch between the turbine and compressor. The 76mm compressor wheel is too big to be driven by the T28 ns111 turbine wheel. This is highlighted on the Garrett website where they say;
  24. Feel free to bring the car down to Campbelltown though. i just got home from work and will be up for a bit. lol
  25. ROFLMAO
