  1. in order of decreasing responsiveness and increasing power. GT2871R (56T)>260-270kw, GT3071R>280-290kw, GT3076>320-330kw, and then you go into GT35 teritory which i don;t think is what you are looking for. you then have the choice of what rear housing to use, 0.6* for response and 0.8* for power. Personally i would go for the 0.8* option so you don't choke the power in the top end, but you said your after more punch so you mightn't agree. EDIT!! The power figures quoted are rought figures and you will be running more than 14psi to achieve them.
  2. So are you looking at running twin GTRS? First of all i wouldn't buy a GTRS as the Garrett 52T GT2871R is 100% the same turbo, with the exception of HKS being cast on the compressor housing (even then they are all built by Garrett), and the GT2871R will be half the price. If you go for a GT2871R instead of a GTRS you also have the option of 3 trims the 48,52 and 56 trim; I would suggest going for the 48 trim as you will find anything larger very laggy. On my CA the 52T being driven by 1.8 litres I see 1 BAR at around 4000 RPM with adjustable gears set up for max response, so if you have 1.5 litres driving them you won't be seeing a BAR until around 4700+RPM but then they will hit like a train. Even with a set of 48T's you will be getting full boost around 4500+BAR but you have to remember that a pair of 48T's are rated to 800BHP and two 52T's are rated to 920BHP.
  3. I'll be there at some stage working on my Brothers Stand (Growly Custom Machining), but i have the Dawn Cruise on at 4am (4 hours time) so i don't know if i'll make it tomorrow so i'll probably be there Sunday.
  4. the details for the dawn cruise are in here if you are interested, Dawn Cruise
  5. I know it's been asked before but, How's coming to the Dawn Cruise tomorrow?
  6. I'm currently running BKR6E's but will be getting a set of 7's for my next set as the 6's are looking slightly blistered.
  7. might have to pull the car out of the garage 2 nights in a row
  8. OK we'll meet somewhere central head to the coast then up Semaphore way then along the express way to the hills and then see where we end up. PM me if you want the meet point and i'm thinking around 8pm. If your up north we can meet up up here first and head to the main meet point together, I'm in Campbelltown. Leaving for the initial meet up so if anyone else is interested SMS me on; 0439848276.
  9. ok i'll start coming up with a route; What are people feeling like. Something coastal or hillzy (or both)?
  10. Hello All, It's been a while since there has been some "sun roof open" whether, an though it would be good to get out there and use it (although i should be studying). If your interested let me know, no plans yet wait wait to see how much interest. Dale
  11. I'm in the same boat as Steve, got a quote from Shannon's and listed all my mod's (if you've seen my car there are quite a few) as well as an agreed value of $14,500 and my quote was $800. and since it is Shannon's once i get around to getting my CAMS licence i'll get a 10% discount on that so i could get it down to $720. Got to love being over 25.
  12. or pick up a set of R32, S14, 15 rotors as they are all 5x114.3 by 280mm the same as the GTS, not sure about the thickness though, but as Steve said they aren't that hard to redrill and it would probably work out cheaper (through growly  ). I also agree with steves first two points; WHY and WHY.
  13. i was thinking about taking a picture of it to turn into one of those motivation pictures with the black frame. I was laughing when i walked up to it and then when i saw that one of the gauges in the crome cups on the bonnet was a boost gauge i was nearly rolling on the floor.
  14. There was a young girl (9 or 10) that was coming up to the voting tent every few minutes and grabbing hand fulls of the peoples choice voting forms, any guesses what car she was voting for. So i would say the "peoples choice award" shoud have been called "the car that appeals to a 10YO girl award"
  15. I think that the morphettville tavern car park is a better location to meet up if people want macca's it's just next door so they can walk, and the driveway has 0 slope so every one can get in.
  16. I'm guessing you mean For The Loss (FTL)? Loose doesn't apply to the rear enterance......well it shouldn't.
  17. At this stage i'll be entering as well. It depends on whether i can get the car back together tonight. I had a look at the website and from what i could tell you can enter on the day but they said that there will be two line to enter, one will be for people who have pre entered and the other will be for people entering on the day.
  18. In the top Right hand corner of the thread click the "options" tab then click "switch to standard"
  19. I don't know where it come from and they are wrong, Pretty much all the CA18det engined Nissans didn't come fitted with BOV of any description. And as for the X-raying of weld I would have loved for them to tell me that because it is a load of BS. all that X-raying lets you do is when you are designing the part you can use a 0.9 reduction factor for the welds instead of a 0.6 reduction factor they aren't X-rayed. This means that is you can't get enough strength in a weld using the 0.6 factor then you have to specify a 0.9 factor weld and they have to be x-rayed. Due to the cost of the X-raying process and the fact that generally you can get more than enough strength out of your designed weld the x-rayed specified welds are almost never used.
  20. The tab is just the wear indicator. As 4 piston calipers should wear evenly (equal pressure on both sides and no sliding pins that lock up) it doesn't really matter where it goes. It's the thing that squeals so you know that your pads are close to worn out before they actually are and you have metal to metal contact
  21. I would say Valve Stem seal. While the car was sitting the oil has worked past the seal into the cylinder.
  22. what ever you do don't speak to a Craig Williams from saturno's, the bloke is an obnoxious Knob. +1 for Adrian being the one to speak too.
  23. There are no club displays allowed this year, just stickers AFAIK.
  24. Can someone who has a R32 or 33 Manual do me a favour? In the Service Data and Specifications for the braking system (at the end of the Brake section) there is a Split Point in kPa and a reduction ratio in the Data for the Brake Master cylinder. For the S13's it's: 3.932 (39.2, 40, 569) x 0.4. Could some one let me know what they are for either an R32 or R33. Thanks
  25. What state were the plates from that the boost cruising threads were about? AFAIK you can have the same number plate in different states.
