  1. What is the standard compression for an RB25det? Did a compression test on a mates car yesterday but i don't know what the factory specs are and i only have silvia/180sx manuals. Results (psi); (They look very good IMO) 1- 167 2- 168 3- 170 4- 170 5- 169 6- 168
  2. Hardly any difference, you wouldn't even notice it.

  4. I'm cleaning out my garage and I have a set of R33 hub assemblies for the front (basically everything between the two swing arms), I don't know what they are worth though?? Can some one give me an idea of what I should put on them? (Note this isn't a for sale post) They were included in the sale when I bought the brakes for a brake upgrade on my 180 so I didn't purchase them separately .
  5. ^^^ +1 and if the wet test doesn't yield any answers then a leak down test would be the next test to do, or just pressurise the cylinder and listen to where it is leaking and don't worry about the leak down values.
  6. It probably isn't because there should be a wire brace in your intake to stop it, but it sounds like your intake is sucking flat under high load.
  7. So no cruise then? I think the cruises were better than the shows, despite the crap routes.
  8. they look like a Chaser, pity they don't have a 1J inside. I wouldn't say no to an RB26 fitted one though. EDIT! That ain't a 26 pictured though.
  9. The red line is the base line. The dark blue line is with inlet cam 5 degrees retarded, which basically gives it the same spec's as a CA18DE exhaust cam And the light blue line is with the previous inlet adjustment with the addition of the exhaust cam being 2 degrees advanced. The timing timing above is cam degree's so times by 2 to get crank degrees. These are the Gears, this is when i was trial fitting them hence some of the bolts aren't fitted.
  10. This isn't with a GTR it's with my CA but we gained 15kw more throughout the rev range and 5kw more in the top end by playing with the cam timing. We were looking for more midrange but we could have gone the other way and looked for more top end but being a 1.8 litre it better off with the extra in the midrange and it made the car sooooo much more drivable with the bigger turbo. I have the graphs if you want to look at them?
  11. Yep; The running gear in them is the same at the Famillia (SP?). The engine form what I have heard are very strong, like 250atwKW on standard internals strong, which isn't bad for such a small engine.
  12. +3 3am Mind you I'm two of the three.
  13. Who owns this nice example of a Stag?
  14. With the number of times I have had these diffs out of cars my biggest fear was that it would drop it on my head and now it has happened. Luckily I wasn't using the pit so it only fell 30cm before hitting me not 1m like if I was in the pit. This is the first time that I had someone "lending a hand" and i think they pulled it off the sway bar which is why it dropped. so I think for now on I'll stick with doing it by my self
  15. Well I've got a bit of a head ache at the moment. I sold a diff to one of my mates and I shimmed it up and fitted it today, and after I had it in I was positioning it to line the bolt holes up and it fell out onto my head. For those who have picked up an R200 they would know they aren't that light. So now i have an egg on my forehead the size of an actual egg.
  16. 3am then cruise until the sun comes up
  17. It's only ever going to be a rough guide anyway, because every gearbox design would be different and the weight of your box oil would have a fair effect on power loss as well.
  18. FWD ~15% RWD ~25% 4WD ~35%+
  19. It looks like that cheap paint that you use to paint Christmas decorations so you might be lucky and it'll come off with a good cut an polish.
  20. all the gaskets i have got from Nissan haven't been that expensive. Having said that the R200 diff gasket i got a quote for the other day was $97. So is Unley Nissan saying that there is no gasket for RB26 water pumps or just that you have to buy it seperatley? EDIT!! R34 GTR's are on the "NISSAN FAST" that I have and it only has a listing for liquid sealant with the water pump, no gasket. So that answers that question.
  21. What you putting them on?
  22. PM me what's going on.
  23. Although I have to work at 6 now (I did have the night off at one stage), i might come to the initial meet point and if the cruise is heading towards the port, the first section of the cruise. So can I please had a PM too?
  24. What trim and rear housing are you running? I'd imagine with the 25 you'd be using the 56T?
  25. I think it's just under 4000rpm. It's a GT2871R 52T. This graph is the GT2871R Vs' my old T28 at similar boost. This shows it's not so much about when peak boost is but more the flow at certain boost levels. As you can see the T28 produces boost a lot earlier but even with less boost the GT2871R isn't far behind. In fact the 2871 curve is even better now, because after that run we fixed up the hole in the bottom end which was caused by the secondary butterflies opening too early for the bigger turbo.
