I checked and it seems like its all together properly. When on neutral revving, it flutters now since I have tightened the intercooler hoses. That should mean that the wastegate flap should be working correctly right? -
Hey So Godzilla32, I just checked the intercooler piping, I just tightened the hoses to its limit. There seems to be no cracks on the hoses either so I guess it could be the afm? I only checked by revving it, but now I get that fluttering sound which is normal, even though I have the stock setup and panel filter, most likely the intercooler just made it louder. Although it sounds all normal, does this still mean that the engine isn't getting boost? Only revved it(no driving) the boost gauge still didn't go past 0 mark. I know only way to check though is to drive it because it shouldn't go over 0 in the 1st place on neutral right?

When I drive the car it feels like the turbo isn't even working with the stock setup(boost) but when I had the boost controller on with the missing spring I do notice that the turbo just spools but never releases because most likely the spring isn't there. So that marks out that the turbo is fine, how do you check if the wastegate actuator is working properly? Would I have to remove the turbo again? Hope its working because then I have to pay someone to remove it again -
Thanks Warren, I am waiting on another turbotech boost controller. I was wondering since I'm just missing the spring could I just get a spring from the hardware store or is there special tensions to the turbotech ones? I will have a look at the intercooler and fmic hoses soon. I'll get back to you once I check. Thanks, mate

Hey I have those tyres, they seem very good in dry but in wet when I give it some, ofcourse it will slip. I never knew they were top of the range tyres in Japan. I had always wondered what my tyres were, because I typed it up in aus bridgestone and they cant find it. Put it in google worldwide then I got all these japanese sites, couldn't understand a thing so I gave up. Lucky when I bought the car they were brand new. Still though from what I believe its also got to do with the suspension your running. Stock ones are setup for Japanese roads right? Thats why Im getting my coilovers soon and set it up to SK's setting for street. -
I just got my car back recently, noticed a few things wrong with it. Feels like its struggling and on 5 cylinders. Before someone says coilpack it struggles throughout the rev range, low and high rpm. I have gotten it back from the panelbeater since I got a respray. I also got them to install my fmic and highflow turbo. Once I got it back I noticed that my turbotech boost controller was missing its spring, they must have opened it and lost it. I have the usual mods like full 3" exhaust, front/dump, remapped ecu. What is the worst thing that could happen if the boost controllers spring is missing? I have removed it and put it back to the stock setup, still that didn't solve the struggling engine problem. And when the boost controller was on or even the stock setup, on the boost guage it wont even go above 0. Its like its restricted from going past it because when you drive it, the gauge will quickly go to 0 then stop there. Does anyone have any ideas? The last resort I want to do is to give it to a specialist and all he would probably do is to go through the whole list of a 100k service to figureout the problem. Well thats what the panelbeater told me to do anyways, It might just need a tune

So whats the difference between gains with either an exhaust camgear and poncams? Whats better on spending money on?

Hmm sorry but I was just actually thinking if it was possible to mix both together. I don't have a SAFC. I was just curious to what benefits could it bring. I guess another theory down the drain. I was told that I wont be able to get bigger injectors, z32, cams, etc because even remapping the ecu won't support them. Is there any other way for auto tranny's to have a pigyback ecu that would be more similar if it were manual and just have a powerfc? -

Hey Paul, The reason to why I would get it tuned is because I got the ecu remapped when I didn't have the Highflow turbo and FMIC installed. Wouldn't it be running lean or something? I haven't been able to get it on a dyno yet because the car is running crap at the moment. As if its struggling between low to midrange revs. Just planning to get new spark plugs, check the coilpacks then get a compression test just to see if the engine is healthy after the turbo change. The car struggles as if its running on 5 cylinders or something. -

I don't understand why its so bad to have these two together? Can anyone actually give me facts to why it wouldn't properly work and achieve the benefits? The reason why is I have an auto tranny. If you think about it... when you tune a car with a SAFC what is the thing that usually limits you? R & R. But since my remapped ecu has removed the things that causes it to go R & R, wouldn't it be able to be fully tuned similar to a PowerFC? Can anyone correct me here? -

I know SAFC doesn't rewrite the chip but it allows to tune the afrs that have already been tuned. I can tune it to the way I want it without it going rich and retarded -
Hi, That is a tv that is connected to the navigation system located at your boot. I slo have this in my R33 Series 2. Im guessing its a factory option. I was wondering if anyone has been able to either use the factory navigation system in AU? Also I wanted to know if the tv can be hooked up to a dvd player?

Hi, I was curious to findout if its possible to use a SAFC on a remapped ecu? I think it is possible. Wouldn't be just a simple plug in and tune? I would also get the benefits because my ecu doesn't go rich and retard, it has been all removed. Boost cut, speed limiter, rev limiter, etc So I was interested if I could get away with running a SAFC to its benefits since the ecu was remapped before my high flow turbo and fmic was installed. Any opinions?

Hehehehe. No offense but I have just flicked through this whole topic starting from posts at the beginning of this year and I have noticed 1 thing in particular. I don't want to start anything but it seems like we have someone either who works for JRD who sells their copies of Turbotech. Can anyone see this? Actually the cop didn't even know that it was an intercooler. He said that the car has a radiator already so why do I need that one. I said that it came with the car. he didn't like the fmic pipe that goes over the engine. I also had my stock airbox on although the snorkel was missing because I haven't had the chance to modify it yet

I just got recently pulled over by a cop and he told me that I would need an engineers certificate for my fmic. Is this correct? He didn't book me for it but just gave me a warning. Does anyone know any places where I can get a engineers certificate close to Penrith, Sydney area? Hoe much do these cost?

I have the same problem. My car is revving past 3.5k but on the boost guage it shows that it wont go past the 0 mark. Any ideas?
