who do I need to talk to to get new stickers after my dismal effort??? I need to represent SAU Vic.
-
you can get 2nd hand cars - depending on the company and their policy. Usually they need to be above 15k and not more than 5 years old. car allowence is the go if ur doing some Kms for work as u have indicated. Nearly 100% of my office have a novated lease...except me! the lease is the best way if you wanna get a new car, but be under no illusion that you are somehow saving money as they love to tell u although it might be a more efficient way of using your tax than purchasing a new car outright. Do the numbers properly and what you can afford, factor in things like what intrest would I have earnt during that peroid if all or some of the money was in the bank, what about depreciation on the new car and how does that compare to a slightly older 2nd hand car. I did the numbers, talked to some people and my accountant and I decided to get the skyline also is common for companies to give u an allowence instread of them buying you a company car...why? cos if you become redundant the lease is on u not them. Remember 3-5 years is a long time and things change...i.e. you might hate ur job and wanna leave - not thats its the end of the world but can be a factor if you wanna move on quick. Then again I have people who swear by it...reckon its the best. Although you can do some more intresting things if you own the company.... my 2 cents.

I love this product - buy one! FYI here is my install in my s1 R33 with a Unifilter:
-
yeah thanks man 1/2 drive is too big for me...so I needed to get the 3/8 set back off my mate during the week. Yeah its a 14mm socket for the lock bolt...thats the one I'm trying to get off...anyway wait until next weekend. Yeah I'm not cutting off the belts!
-
not with a unifilter....get yourself one of those...and yes it has happened before to others...but only happens when ur going through puddles...not so much the rain in effect similar to the stock pipe anyway. I've been running mine in my FTO for over 1 year with the exact setup as my r33..never a problem... since the Unifilter is a foam/oil combo its dust retention is much below that of paper and cotton gauze with low restriction - hence the large surface area. If you have ever cleaned one of these, whihc I have a few times, you clean them with mineral turpentine and it soaks it up but doesn't really go through...hence water will have a hard time going through the foam + oil which should help resist any water that might get through anyway...

I think the tone of ur post contradicts what ur trying to say.
-
i didn't reaise this would cause so much contention..lol I need some new stickers I wasn't patient enough and was in Syd when the GM was on last week...will get some soon and get them on no doubt.
-
thanks Geoff...hope ur feeling better mate. I still have a front grille for you! Yeah good point...I took off some pullies the otherday and thought they were on the way out...$120 for NSK is not bad for the whole unit. I thought they were just talking about bearings. on that note I broke off one of the tensioner screws yesterday...must have failed for something just sheered right off..lol bought some new bolts but need to get the old thread out. I'm also trying to work out an easy way to take off the damn PS belt...looks like the lock bolt is the one just above the tension bit...bitch to get at...give it another go next weekend. Might as well do the bearings also while everything is out...so what are the stock part nos...?
-
yeah when I started I wa sonly aiming for 200rwkw...lol that didn't last long. I use the GKtech kit for that reason and found it good for much more power...for the price and ur application I can't see you going wrong with that. also as suggested, no point unless ur going to up the boost to what 10psi with the stockie...then its at its limit also...need a turbo upgrade...lol then the list goes on..
-
thx guys...I will suss out how to get the bolt off..I have some more ideas..but now its a job for next weekend..
-
has any1 actually done it on an r33?
-
r u guys talking about the whole pully or just the bearing? $200 bucks for these bearings....omg
-
lol now that was a classic!
-
mate the stock intake form the grille is kinda crap. a 3" pipe into the box makes sure there is lots of airflow. from this forum...some1 made them check the GB or for sale section the filter is a Unifilter pod for the R33....check http://www.uniflow.com.au/
-
lol i started laughing when the car ran him over...do i have a problem??
-
hard to say. it will adjust urr AFR and hopefully give u more usable power..dunno about 15kw although when I installed and emange on mine it gave about 10 from memory before and after,
-
its more the fans in the way...but will take that and see what I can do tomorrow.
-
these tests look fine. Even if one cyl. is a bit low some carbon bulid up etc can cause this... leakdown for more accurancy but really you only need to do ti if u find a problem with the compression test to pin-point the cause of the low reading.
-
i'm no guru and actually bought my skyline becuase i wanted to learn more about fixing cars etc as it was something I never bothered to put any effort into. I've done everything except for major mechanical work i.e. fitting anew turbo although after seeing how it was done I reckon next time I might give iot a go myself. things like oil, sparks, coils, belts (although I'm having trouble with that on the r33!) bolt on exhaust bits, CAI, FMIC, dials, dash bits could be done yourself all the time. Its actually quite fun doing it yourself, u learn, u read more and site like this make it easy when you get stuck...cos many ppl here really know their stuff.

hmm ok..but even with a small socket I don't seem to fit the rachet into the gap i.e. no room. I have had another go and think i have worked it out but its a bitch. I was using a ring spanner and could only move it 1/4 each attemt which sucked...the adjustment section bolts onto the bracket that holds the PS pump so my assumption is that if that bolt is taken off I can move it to get some slack...although it was really hard to get it off...I gave up and did some other stuff instead.. maybe my rachet is too big...but to me its a pretty std size. I read the manual and it just says take off the PS bolt...I assume I have the right bolt although it totally sucks in terms of access...

lol after seeing ur post u got me fired up to fix up mine. Went down to this place and bought some 3" flex pipe...the black stuff with the wire in it. Ran it from the old return hole form the stock IC to the grille in the same point u have. seem tos work fine...might put some mesh over it ot something later... cost $10. time 5min... From the front....sleeper look - i.e. hard to see it. My CAI box and pod...sorry lid hasn't been polished for a bit the pipe from the stock SMIC retun hole
