Some latest data about twin scroll exhaust manifold vs single scroll exhaust manifold. Still running the same turbo, now making 440rwkws @ 27psi while close to 500RPM more responsive. :

6.9 Sec with 188 miles quarter run from last week, from one of our rebuilt, high flowed and ball bearing converted BW S400 turbochargers powering a built 4G63 Evo engine running about 55psi.

Compression test results. Bad or still ok?
hypergear replied to erazor.'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There are differences between compression testers. I've used two testers on my built engine and they varied 50psi in reading. As long as the compression between cylinders are even then the engine is likely to be good. -
Its been a while since my last update, car had some engines issues as I found its lack of power and response compared to other R34s I’ve owned. Comp test reveal a 50psi drop at CYC 4 compare to other 5. I’ve had the engine stripped with intention of restoring OE compression, using a set of Nitto pistons, con rods, oil pump gears and valve springs. The rebuilt engine ended up with slight lower compression then standard but all even, it is making more power and been trouble free so far. I’m keeping the stock cams for now, it will be upgraded at later stages. Currently pulling 424rwkws, for people whom’s interested in my setup it has: 9:1 CPR Nitto 20 thou forged pistons Nitto Conrods Korioautoparts Performance Radiator 4 inches metal intake pipe Adaptronic Modular ecu Split fire coil packs 3 inches turbo bach exhaust Hypergear ATR45SS turbocharger Electronic boost controller through ecu Nismo twin plate cooper mix Clutch 18inches alloy wheel with Nitton tyres. 45mm Tial external gate with steam pipe high mount exhaust manifold. It will definitely not be as responsive as a 2860. That is too small for a rb25det. New G3 high flow has the same response as the older version with more mod range and top end power. It is still very responsive for daily or track.
-
The highest result out of the G2 profile lot was from Dr.Drift's personal R33 back in 2010. That pulled 253rwkws on pump 98 fuel.
-
The car needs a big front mount cooler, Go for Aero flow 600x300x100mm for a good budget cooler. Also the G2 model is a factory replacement, to get more power you will need the G3 or bigger profiles.

Another 400rwkws Rb25det powered by one of our ATR45SAT turbochargers, externally gated E85 fuel. Tuned by JEM.

Little video to share about Jason Ferron's drifting session at Calder park few weeks ago. Video's been put together by the Drift Junkie Andrew Sparrow, do check out their Youtube channels about he's R33 GTST build. Jasons's car is powered by one of our high flowed R33 GTST turbochargers making around 310rwkws on E85 fuel.

Product update for ATR43 RB bolt on series with 3 inches dump pipe suited for Rb25det and Rb30ET. Available using ATR / SS series as well as Garrett GT / GTX CHRA. Housing's available in T3 .63 and .82, internal gated with 38mm port. Externally gated housings can also be supplied. More details are on our site, or simply send us a PM. Inside the dump pipe assembly.

Video footage of last weeks South Australia Time attack. Our sponsored vehicle is Topstage's carbon S14. 2015 built ceramic ball bearing ATR45SAT turbocharger survived engine failures, melted exhaust manifold, and this time fire from hydraulics fluid leakage. Still managed to take first in rear wheel drive class.

Yes that is on E85. I don't have result of this version on 98 yet. it would be sitting pretty close to 300rwkws on that car.

In simple terms, stock engine and basic supporting mods on pump 98 fuel. -9 can get you around 300awkws responsively, -5 can get you around 360awkws but its abit laggy.

GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26
hypergear replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats in .82 rear housing. Power curve is in response to boost curve, unfortunately I don't have a boost reading. I've dynoed way more powerful cars on that particular dyno there's not issues with it. The only time I had similar power outline was a boost spike. Might be a delay in ext gate response, boost spiked around 4000RPM, then dropped back to norm. Could be waste gate springs are too hard, gate is jammed, hoses connecting to the external gate is too long or parameters in the EBC not 100%. -
GTX3076R GEN II VS GTX3576R GEN II on RB26
hypergear replied to joe89's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just a quick note, the ATR45SAT you had was a 5 years old unit, current model is different, result has been updated to dyno section. More developments are underway. And result to share: GTX3076R Gen 2 maxed on a built Rb25det Neo on 26psi of boost, externally gated on E85 fuel. -
I was referring to stock rb25det manifold. The twin gate setup, I found its dependent on the types and shape of turbine wheel as well as size of housing used. I will conduct some experiments later in the year and upload results.
-
Why should twin scroll exhaust manifold and housing make slightly better response. It very dependent on the design of the actual exhaust manifold and of course the firing sequence of the engine. Lets take Rb25det with firing sequence of: 1 5 3 6 2 4 Stock twin pulse log manifold consist bank 1 of: CYC 123, and bank 2 of: 456. So the split plus ensures the combusted air shoots straight into turbine housing rather then towards the other side. I've seen customers drilling out the center divider of factory exhaust manifold result in lose of response and power. I'm currently using a merged pulse external gate on a factory exhaust manifold, and by doing that I have lose about 300RPM of response, I think it would partly contributed the this problem and the extra volume external gate plumbing has made up. Same principle apply to a spaghetti manifolds, but I found its not as tangible as the runners are separated that ends up in a collector. So there will be a bit of a differences assume a properly made twin pulse, twin gated exhaust manifold used on the right size twin pulse turbine housing. The advantage of twin gates giving extra flow would mean you can use a smaller housing on a turbo that makes the same top end as a big housing while avoiding the lag.
-
I can supply a .84 rear housing in twin scroll. It won't be as responsive. If you have a twin pulse twin gate manifold, you can use the .63 single housing with an ATR45SS-1 to make 450rwkws+ while still have similar response as above.

Get a PWR 600x300x81mm cooler or Aero flow to save few coins, General pod filters, Tomei dump pipes, 3 inches front pipe, 3.5 inches 100 cell cat with 3.5 inches cat back exhaust. Turbos I would high flow them to -9 specs with 14psi actuators. I'm not sure about stock R32 ECU, but R33 ECU supported just under 300awkws on that setup on 98 fuel.

New result to share. This is an ATR45SAT ball bearing bolton turbo running of an external gate from factory exhaust manifold. Car is an R34 GTT with a freshed up Rb25det NEO engine. Car made 420rwkws @ 25psi of boost E85 fuel, 240rwkws @ 4000RPM, Nice and responsive.
