  1. Do not want to hijack this thread, Just want to make things clear. This turbo was sent back for inspection because your mate is worried about the shaft play from dry bearings, all we did was added in few drops of oil. Your mate reported oil leak issue on cold side after installation which indicate a flooding issue normally due to drain or feed. I did ask for it to be returned for check up, how ever it never came back. It was taken to some where else, which they cropped its wheel trying to high flow it, modified the wastegate with different actuator. I did rang that place to find out what went wrong, and I did not get a direct response. That turbo is not our original build. It will obviously mega lag with cropped wheel and creep from different wastgate setup. That is not our work.
  2. That depends on the type of rear housing that we get to do the high flow as well as the combination of wheel we use refer to customer's driving ability. I've personally tested a .63 PU high flow maxed at 295rwkws, Roller dyno, 98 fuel, tuned by Dr.drift. How ever the ATR43G3 mentioned is a brand new turbo that is made and proven for 300rwkws application, with 65kws more mid range then the KKR560. Plus controlled run is based on fully standard setup without boost controller or any thing that could advance its original response and power behavior.
  3. Video of above run is up for people whom's interested to watch:
  4. I can make you a .63 or larger housing to suit GT35 turbine wheel if you want. Can be either external or internal gated, with 6 bolt Nissan Dump, 3 inch V band or 5 bolt flange. Or get a Vl turbo or OP6 turbine housing we can machine it to fit.
  5. Great to see you back Trent. You've done a great job today. .
  6. Just had a big day tuning at status. This is the first run with my new forged engine. Every thing on this engine apart from pistons are stock standard, so any good healthy RB25det will be able to do the same. Just recap of modifications list: 800cc injectors Nistune ECU Z32 AFM 600x300x75mm FMIC 3inch turbo back exhaust 3inch intake pipe with pod. CP pistons ATR43G3 / Pu high flow .82 Stock engine head Stock cams Stock cam gears Stock exhaust manifold Stock inlet manifold Stock fuel rail Stock engine block, Con rod & Crank. This is a controlled run based on BP 98 Fuel, No boost controller, No wastegate controller. Car made peek of 303rwkws at 20psi with drop to 17psi (can be fixed with Gate controller). The constant was between 295 to 300rwkws.
  7. Little update: This is a OP6 Standard high flow using the updated turbine wheel running 98 Fuel.
  8. The average on the ATR43G3 .82 is 4200 RPMs / 20psi. You can send it back for a check up.
  9. The G1 profile in .63 turbine would be very good for doing that. should see full boost around 4000RPMs on the RB20det
  10. I currently don't. Been told they are pretty responsive. But still yet to receive dyno sheets from customers.
  11. Get the one with 3inch dump and front in one piece. I don't think any one makes an actual 3 inch dump pipe as the size of factory front pipe is in 2.5inches.
  12. what sort of power are you chasing for? the G1 runs of a 71mm 52T comp and G2 runs off a 76mm 52T comp. For RB20 they are ok to run in .63 turbine housings.
  13. Need to make sure your vacuum source to the BOV is after the throttle body
  14. 4inch metal induction pipe with airbox no filter.
  15. Turbo lag means the period before turbo hit its set boost. So if you have a really big turbo you would experience lag before 5500RPMs. Can you detail this lag that you are experiencing?
  16. GT3582 in .82 Turbine with .70 comp externally gated. If you run about 24psi on 98 you should see close to 380rwkws. But I don't think it can do 24psi by 4000RPMs. more like 4300rpms. Best to run on 120, or E85.
  17. I built the turbo on it. Very responsive result. Shoot in few more psi next time .
  18. I wish RB25det came out with a turbo like that from Factory. Its a OEM Ford XR6 Turbo.
  19. Mine Z32 AFM was maxed at 26psi. car made 344rwkws.
  20. Little update: This is a cheap sleeve bearing rebuild option ($950 inc GST) for people with totally blown (need new core) GT3582 turbos.
  21. Pull it out, strip its housings and check the conditions of its wheels. Turbo is suitable for rebuild only if your wheels are in ok condition with out too much of shaft play. Unfortunately most BB turbos would require a new CHRA for overhaul.
  22. Check the turbo for shaft play, If the turbo do appear to have over a mm of back n forward play it means the bearings and seals are worn. Else make sure oil drain is not blocked or kinked, and engine is not overfilled with oil.
  23. Here are 3x dyno sheets for your reference as stock intake system, stock intake pipe with metal insert didn't work. I also believe your friend Pat experienced very difference result before and after upgrading to 3inch metal intake with pod. His comments are in page 39. Results: 1. ATR43G2 Stock intake pipe with air box no filter. Intake pipe sucking shut. 2. ATR45 running stock intake pipe with metal sleeve stopping it from shutting with pod filter. (left) ATR45 running 3inch metal intake pipe with pod filter. (right) The sleeve insert run ended early as it not only restricting power, it did some thing strange (knocking?) and inconsistency in AFM reading. This run ended early. So please use a 3 inch or better 4 inch intake pipe with a good flow pod filter. Or at least use that for tuning.
  24. Neo engine's got bigger cams and solid head. Would definitely go for a Neo engine.
  25. Once turbo is high flowed you can still run about 10psi with stock ECU and 98 fuel. There will still be a very noticeable difference in power and torque. It is recommended to go for a aftermarket ecu some injectors and etc to get the full potential of your car. Some updates from yesterday: Engine's build has been completed. Taking the old engine out with respect to its 6 month service. New engine is dumped in, alone with a evaluation subject: OP6 high flow How ever the engine fouls plug on crank. Tolled it to Dr.drift today and hopping for the best
