Disco: Since we are talking about the turbine wheels and obviously your self works in the turbo industry. Would you think the Factory Garrett GT30 turbine wheels would out flow the TA34 turbines with crop for high flowing applications? The GT30 turbine is obviously lighter in weight and spools faster. Just have to go through the trouble of installing a custom shaft for sleeve bearing high flowing options.

Waste Gate Springs And Boost Build Issues
hypergear replied to Simon-S14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I actually got some 1 bar and 1.8 springs made to suit HKS 50mm gates. If you want PM me your wastegate spring Dia. I might be able to help you out with a lot cheaper solution. -
Very slightly higher trim on compressor wheel, Anti surge slots for the noise, and bolton turbine housing for R33's manifold and dump. It should make just touch bit more power then stock GT2860RS
-
Here are some updates. I spent a day working on this and turned a blown R33 turbo to a sleeve bearing HKS2530 (Yes even machined matching compressor trim). By calculation it should produce exact amount of power and response as the actual 2530. Its for sale complete with $1000 with oil line and high pressure actuator (1.2KG) for how ever's interested to provide some dyno sheets. From calculation this turbo is good for a super responsive 220~230rwkws on about 15psi of boost. The cost to high flow any R33 or R34 turbos in this way cost $1050 including braided oil feeding line or $1150 with high pressure actuator.
-
Yes it should. I fitted one to my own car and it seems to be ok. Well you are welcome to send the unit back to swap for a bolton turbine housing.
-
you can run around 12psi for little bit. No guarantee the turbo can last. With 98 fuel Stock engine and management should be ok.
-
The HKS250 Is not exactly a GT2860R. Its running a GT2860R"S" CHRA with a 64T 60mm comp wheel. (GTRS turbine wheel is different) Well if you have a working GT28R we can machine your stock housings to suit its CHRA, Still be a cheap option for around 200rwkws.
-
If the turbo is working I suggest to sale it and we can buil you a new one. But if its dead we can high flow that with a Garrett GT3071 chra. will have very similar sort of response, and maxes at about 260rwkws. This will cost roughly $1350 mark.

We can modify your R33 turbine housing for lot better flow which class under the PU highflow options. So basically yes we have to modify every thing on it. The VARA is still under development at this stage. will be ready for public soon. Excellent result Lowrb. Please post dynosheet when possible. Thanks
-
Well visually the high flowed turbo appears to be same as the stock turbo. You can use your stock actuator. Or we can modify your stock actuators actuation bracket to suit a high pressure actuator.
-
With the high pressure actautor you will be seen a lot more steady sort of line with out the drop. and will be making more top end. Once high flowed you basically get a brand new turbo back in your stock housings so it doesn't matter if your current turbo is blown or with heaps of shaft play. The old and blown CHRA in your stock turbo goes into the bin unless you want it back.
-
I would say around 280rwkws with high pressure actuator. full boost by 4200RPM. be just like this one here: (Dynosheet below is running a normal 1KG actuator) http://www.digi-hardware.com/images/dynosh.../atr43360hp.jpg and No we can not get standard size wheels in steel.
-
We actually build a brand new turbo core with bigger wheels, then machine your stock housings to suit it. We only use steel turbine wheels. So are you actually getting back a brand new turbo inside your factory housings.
-
Standard from $800 + GST + oil line $80 = $960 Powered up high flow from $1100 + Oil line $80 + $150 High pressure actautor = $1310
-
If your turbos is still making boost without too much noise its lot cheaper to just get it rebuild with a new set of Garrett bearing kit which will cost only $660 assume your stock wheels and housings are in ok condition. We will email you a inspection report before starting any work. So you know what you will be paying and why your turbo has failed.
-
Convert that into OP6 R34 turbo cost $1000 including braided oil feeding line and oil drain adaptor. To do this we have to modify T28 bearing housing to suit a T3x pring turbine housing.

Unsure What Is The Problem With My Rb25
hypergear replied to fat_stag's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well once you clear breathers and fix other issues to allow oil drain back into the sump, the turbo will stop smoking. In most of cases If the turbo's got no shaft play and leak oil through both seals its means there is a oil drainage problem. Once fixed the turbo stops smoke. No need to pay $$$ and overhaul a good turbo. -

Well. I don't felt the right to charge you $440 to replace some thing that doesn't require to be done. Your engine's leaking oil all over the places not just the turbo. So get you engine oil, catch can and all other issues fixed fist. We will have a look at your turbo if its still making blue smoke by then. -
Have done few. Not as many as other turbos thou. Have also driven one. Un-tuned, car pulled hard after 4500RPM but have lost fairbit of response to stock ceramic turbos. its about 300RPM laggier then stock N1 turbos.
-
Best is to high flow your stock turbo to 2530 spec. Which has same response as your stock turbo and max power at 230rwkws.
-
ATR43G2 .63 with high pressure actautor and braided oil feeding line we can do for $1530. To high flow your stock R34 turbo cost $960 including braided oil feeding line. high pressure actautor is additional at $150 each.
-
With RB26 we normally high flow them to 2860RS spec. which works out to be the -9 configurations in your stock turbine and comp housings. they would be ok for up to 320rwkws before you need bigger turbine housings. Response wise they feels like the N1 steel wheel turbos. Not as responsive as the stock cermaic wheels. Photos at: http://www.digi-hardware.com/gtrturbos.htm We can build custom .60 A/R comp and .64 / .86 turbine with OEM boltup pattern for those if required.
