haha the RB20det is probably the most troublesome, in past cases I just need to bolt up the bits, sort out the ecu and its good. But in this case I had to diagnose and fix heaps of worn OEM pieces that I didn't expect, plus mods fitted by previous owners didn't work as they seems. Still fixing and setting up test bed at current stage.

My R32 has the same cooler kit, It was abnormally laggy, and I tried doing: might be worth while give it a short and see if there is much differences in throttle response. Mine was huge.
-
I advise everyone to obtain that cooler direct from PWR. I trailed it is because majority people whom complaint about a boost tapering issue had a blitz return flow cooler and so did mine. Yes I changed nothing but intercooler kits during those evaluations and PWR 600x300x89mm cooler has proven to be the best one out of the bunch. Once again my advise and test data on this matter is general.
-
Intercooler wise I will be voting for PWR 600x300x89mm and run that with Plazmaman's cooler piping kit.

no no, nothing wrong with the inquiry, its probably something many other members had in mind. I'm covering areas people needs to know and expect before modding their cars, and in case of under performance, there is enough information to pin point the problem.

This is a public forum , I do not encourage any members breaking laws. on same time none results compared against appears road legal either. Must remember a engine system makes power depending on the amount of air it can flow. If any components within is maxed then no more power could be made. one of reasons of why I buy cars and modifying them is to susing out the limitation of individual components and learn their rolls. There are always two parts in my evaluations. One part that people overlook is vehicle modifications. Without a solid foundation results are meaningless and useless to any turbo developments. If any one following my FB, you will notice the time and frustration I've been through building testing beds before any official results. I got what I've got. This is where problem comes in, and that Sexy looking R34.2 drained a 25 year old bones dry is a perfect example of nothing works the way they seemed. Car's been modded all over again, following diagnosing issues from worn and teared oem parts. That build is still in progress, A lot of money and frustration. My results are based on a free flow engine system followed by a good turbo combination. Not I only made my mod list clear, I've putting extra efforts proven comparative component data so people don't take detours. If my steps are followed there is no reasons of why my results can't be matched. After all my cars are bought pretty standard from average Johns on Carsales just like everyone else.

I run no cat. its not a road car. My cooler testing results were all based on the same exhaust.
-
Greg also has a built 2.9L engine. GTX3582 .82 externally gated on E85. Tuned at Trents. I'm pretty sure he will pickup more HP going to a big PWR with normal cooler piping kit. Also any one know how to bring back that HTML coding button in the reply box as we used to have?

When comes to problem solving its hard to pin point. Like my self is in the middle of figuring out and fixing what looks like endless problems with a newly purchased R32 GTS4. Well, you can start with checking boost leaks, actuator preloading and VCT activation. for a 100 cell cat, if its not collapsed its not too bad.
-
When car's running and there are pressure variances it will be different, you need use a boost controller regardless. Turbo run 18psi with no EBC using this actuator on test car which has a very free flow setup. You can also preload actuator to increase minimum boost level, but it will not do much working with that Return flow intercooler. Blue is Blitz return flow pressure checked before and after cooler kit.
-
With the OP6 High flow, Just check to make sure the actuator is preloaded and shut, leaks and active VCT. Alternatively you can send it back and swap the turbine housing to smaller 21U. The op6 should be making 20psi at 4100RPM on a R33 Rb25det engine and maxing towards 290rwkws.

The seals are SS C clips, they don't wear unless of a thrust play, means turbo would've failed. The front collars are engineered to throw oil away from the centre shaft and the rear don't, so in case of turbo failures, the rear seal is likely to leak first.
-
@V28VX37 There are no oil galleries inside comp cover. if engine rocket cover breathers are plumbed into the induction pipe. remove them and that bit of residue should clear. For the 1hz cruiser we can high flow your stock turbocharger using G1 profile, its quite response with plenty of torque. It does need water and oil lines, everything else bolt back on with no fabrications.

Gound out internal gate flap
hypergear replied to Cheeser34gtt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Need proper internal gate assembly bro, that is not going to make alot of a differences. This one will: -
This post is close to 7 year old. Yes our ceramic ball bearings turbos has been evaluated and released few years ago, into WTAC twice, Broke S chassis world record, drifted, won DCA battles, Vic drift battles, and about half of our daily builds involves ceramic ball bearings today. The bearing setup changes a car's throttle response, requires less oil supply, takes more thrust load, and makes driving more pleasurable. I have tested and will not be voting for the cheap Asian bearing cages how ever. Complete bearing cartridge depends on the materials and making of the metal collar and cages instead of the bearings alone.

OP6 is made for a Neo engine, and it has higher CPR, and more VCT cam angle. Fitting that housing to a normal R33's high flow will result in an average of 500RPM worth of lag and increase HP by roughly 15kws.

For the amount of exterior work is not bad. It used to be Jesse Customs personal car two years ago. any way, parts started to arrive and I will update with prices and places. I'm using siemens 610cc injectors @ $60 each and Walbro 470L pump @ $200 each from Injectorsonline . com Z32 AFM and plug cost $250 from Dev industries http://www.hypergearturbos.com/photos/r32/z32afm.JPG

I guess some of yous already seen, we've started modding RB20det for the next couple of week and see how far we can get before hurting driving ability. So the car is an 93 model GTS-4, good condition and solid. Its fully stock with an cat back exhaust and a blitz return flow cooler only. Its running a R33 GTST turbocharger at 10psi and it is as slow as it gets. So far I've ordered: Split fire coil packs Z32 AFM 470L Walbro pump JJR front pipe with 100 cell cat 650cc Siemens injectors Nistune ECU The first turbo I will be fitting will be an ball bearing ATR43SS-1.

300Kw Unopened 25 Club...
hypergear replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi, its running Adaptronic ecu with 470L walbro pump -
haha true, my plain is to drop in a RB25det NEO motor off a Stagea in it later on, Nissan should've done that years ago. I will be using our ATR43SS1 as well as doing some high flows, and see if there are room for improvements.
