Other thing it might be worth mentioning is the PWR's core has no inner fins. They are just straight triangular tubes. Which naturally less resistance. That shown up on the power and torque curve after 5000RPM, engine is definitely getting more air there.

This is the lastest results for our evaluations on intercoolers using 173,000KM fully standard Rb25det Neo motor and our ATR43SS2 Rb bolton turbocharger. The result is intriguing, and I have personally never ever thought it would turnout this way. The test car (r34GTT) has: 1000cc Bosch injectors Walbro 470L/H Fuel pump Hypergear ATR43SS-2 internally gated bolton turbocharger Adaptronic Plugin ECU Just Jap's Front mount cooler piping kit Just Jap's Turbo back 3 inches exhaust 100 cell cat (don't know the brand) Tuned by Chequered Tuning Pump 98 fuel Pressure monitored from both inlet and outlet of the intercooler Nothing has been changed on the car apart from the intercooler it self. The result indicates the effects of cooler change, this may or may not apply to other cars apart from mine, it obviously does not mean you should be spending more money on your cars, I'm not promoting or in favor of any manufactures. Result are based on very similar boost levels: Takashi 600x300x68mm cooler: 267rwkws @ 19psi after cooler or 23psi before cooler Takashi 600x300x100mm cooler: 278rwkws @ 20psi after cooler or 24psi before cooler PWR 600x300x81mm cooler: 303rwkws @ 20psi aftercooler or 22.4psi before cooler 295rwkws @ 19psi aftercooler (blue is from Takashi 600x300x100mm cooler)

Is This A Genuine Hks 2835 Pro S ?
hypergear replied to LaurelPWR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Put it on and let the car tell you. -
took about two weeks to get my order of a PWR intercooler delivered. It came with a pretty good looking box (they asked $11 additional for that box), polished tanks and pretty neat welding: Compare to the Takashi, end tanks looks quite similar, except PWR is hand welded and Takashi is one piece die-cast. However the core interior is quite different. The PWR's cooling fins are neatly 45 degrees angled and dead straight, while the Takashi is all over the places: So hope to see a difference on the dyno on Monday, and will update results when ready.

The SS based SAT made too much torque which my current clutch couldn't hold it. But let me know if you wish to try, expecting to see around 450rwkws mark.
-
And by the way, I've made some custom exhaust wheels that is for the GTR OEM high flows. They are engineered to support 300 ~ 350awkws region on pump fuel and response will have similar to stock twins. My car's waiting for bits and pieces, so if any one is interested to evaluate please let me know, I will put a special offer for $1200 on both turbochargers.

The rear wheels are bigger, once machined the divider turned out to be very thin. Since the compressors are lot bigger also, it will create greater turbine flow. Usually internal waste gates don't at full 90 degrees, the divider would limits the amount of bleeding area around the disc resulting unlimited boost creep, that is some thing else I had in concerns, but I won't know till they are in the car and running. Great footage

Nice video footage. This is a set of rather unusual high flow jobs. Pair of high flowed 2860-5s into ATR28SS15. Its going to a Rb30det engine with Rb26 head. Hopefully they will solve the back pressure issues currently experiencing with GTRS turbine wheel. One more thing that I'm alittle concern is the back pressure in the exhaust system as the ATR28SS15 is ideally made to run on a single 3 inches turbo back system, that GTR is pretty good of having 4 inches turbo back exhaust, still have to be shared with two turbo how ever. I've made some oversized thrust collars for that purpose, hopefully be seeing close to 500rwkws with those once fully running. One more prototype of SAT prototype is made for my single high mount GTR. This one was engineered to make around 450awkws on the current setup without additional lag. It made huge amount of torque, and clutch is gone. This one will definitely be making alot more power, and response is no different to the traditional SAT. Nismo Super coppermix is going in, hopefully be back on the dyno in two weeks time. Vs standard ATR45SAT (pink and yellow is from the new prototype, stopped when clutch gave away)

Overboosting Help. R32 Rb20det Rb25 Turbo
hypergear replied to Anthony9five's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
That turbo on their listing is rotated at a wrong angle. That is not going to direct fit. We can supply an actually direct fit actuator with bracket. But not sure what the cause of creep is. If its dump pipe related then the actuator won't fix it. -
Rb25det Bov Leaking....car Still Boosts And Runs Well
hypergear replied to 604JD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ive tested stock bov blocked and open and it made no difference in boost level on the dyno. Check its vacuum plumbing, must be sourced behind throttle body. -

Which one did u get? PM some details, We can have it checked and carry out repairs cheaply or free. -
Help Picking Turbo For Rb25det
hypergear replied to nischic!!'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
For some thing that is virtually bolt on with very little fabrications, we can build you some thing that will sit around the 280rwkws region. Alternatively we can also high flow your stock OP6 turbo that will make around the 270rwkws mark. -
R33 Hypergear Highflow - What Boost To Run?
hypergear replied to ausdrift's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I dont think i have received your email. I can supply adaptronic plug in at a special price if interested. If u r in Melbourne goto see chequred tuning. Make sure u have fuel mods, 3 inches metal induction pipe, pod, good fmic, 3inches free flow tubo back exhaust and a good clutch before going for tuning. -
Yes its in the video. Here's one more customer's video. I believe this is an ATR43SS-2 running 20psi internally gated. Making 294rwkws on pump 98 fuel.

Nice, I will be looking forward to your job. In this car I'm mainly looking into some common mods that majority of people use, and this definitely shares to some of the problems that few people experienced, especially in the cheap and stealth category. I will be looking into possible ways of targeting those problems through a turbocharger. Here is some thing fun to watch.

Its been a few weeks getting the new test car ready and I've spent quite some time diagnosing a boost ceiling issue. For today's test, I've tapped two extra boost sources on both sides of the intercooler piping, and monitored pressure drops on all four points. Surprisingly it is a issue with the actual intercooler it self. Three intercoolers was tested, they were the Takashi (a good Chinese made cooler) in 600x300x68mm, 600x300x100mm, and a Generic ebay cooler in 600x300x76mm. Final result reviews the 600x300x100mm Takashi cooler had the best response, while the Generic ebay cooler made the most power. I will likely be trailing a PWR item of a similar size, hopefully an expansive branded item could solves this issue. Final result was peek of 281rwkws @ 19psi after cooler pressure on Pump 98 fuel. ATR43SS-2 Internally gated ID 1000cc injectors Walbro fuel pump Adaptronic Plug in ECU 3inches turbo back exhaust Tune at Chequrered Tuning. The last sheet shown the same turbocharger working with same type of engine but return flow cooler kited. Notice lag created of having extra piping length. For best result on a Rb25det R34, Get a proper FMIC kit with a big free flow intercooler.

Yes can be done. cost $150 to carry out, I will need the chra and turbine housing for a day.

GTR's BOVs are pretty good, they don't have the bypass whole like the GTSTs does, and seals pretty well. Best way is to a check with a smoke machine or make some plugs and pressurize from the cooler piping.

That is 2.5 inches.

Drive a Turbocharged Korean Car. That feels truly terrifying even with only 200kws wheels.
